I've looked but there doesn't seem to be a thread for the 12/26/2011 NYE in Mexico on the Wonder. Thought I'd get the party started:cool1:

Yay!! Just booked this weekend when we realized that it was time to spice up the week between Christmas and New Year's. My kids aren't ready to be away from home Christmas Day, but they're ready to party on the ship and ring in the New Year during the week after!! Kids will be 19, 17 and 13.

Hi!

My dd's will be 17 & 13 at the time of the trip! We just returned from the 12/18-12/29 cruise and had a great time. We decided NYE was a trip we wanted to do with Disney

As people join, if you would like me to compile a list for possible FE or Dismeets - please send me a PM with your Disboard name, Adults first names, and kids ages (no names) - (something like DD 13 or DS 17) - that type of thing. Exciting times!

I have to say, I have no idea what FE is...I've seen it referred to around here, but I just joined this board and haven't learned the lingo. We've been on 4 cruises and never did any door decorating, etc. Yeah, we're boring, I know. We tend to be a "shy" family.

My 13 year old DD will love knowing that perhaps there is someone she can plan to meet up with if she wants. Thanks so much!!

FE= Fish Extender - its a pocket type holder thing that you hang from the metal "fish" that is outside your stateroom door. Dis'ers who want to, sign-up to participate on the cruise meets thread. You get a list of cabins participating and leave small little gifts for each other in each others "fish extender" - some people participate - some people don't. We have participated in the past but did not this last trip. We do usually decorate the door - but not nearly as much as others do! Its all up to you! There is a thread on the main cruise boards about homemade " FE items" - there are some great ideas - but also some great pictures of what a fish extender looks like for many people.

BTW - I'm Lisa - nice to "meet you" - and I'm still learning the disboard lingo :)

Thanks!! I'm Nancy. I will look around at the other threads and keep checking in here over the next year. It feels so far away!!

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Hi drparoo

Thanks for the welcome.
We are from Sydney Australia. We go to DL for Christmas every year, so this year we decided to spice it up a bit with our first cruise! :)

No kids, I'm the big kid! lol

Hi Everyone!

We just booked this cruise and now will be counting down the days! On our last cruise we met many fun families from the Dis boards. Our daughters still keep in touch with the friends they met.

My husband and I will have DD 14 DD 12 DS 9 and DS 1.5 with us (and DS 23 if we are lucky).

Just booked tonight. Have been on two NYE cruises before they are always great. Nothing better than watching Bowl Games on Ariel Vision!
My niece (11) and my nephnew (15) will be making the trip with the DW and I.
Looking forward to seing everyone.

We will be on this cruise as well. We have DS 16, DS 13, and DD 5 (at time of sailing).

I don't think I'll do FE, as I am not creative AT ALL, though I can dress a wound quite nicely. :rolleyes1

Is anyone else going to give this cruise as a surprise Christmas gift to their kids? Any fun ideas on how to do this?

Also, does anyone have input on excursions for this cruise?

We just booked this trip while onboard the 11-night Mediterranean on the Magic (just back on Wednesday!), so we'll be looking forward to joining the fun here as we wait (not very patiently) for our next Disney cruise! DDs will be 4.75 and 1 at sailing. Has anyone started a FE list yet?

We waited until midnight Florida time and booked our excursions and on board activities today. It's very exciting! :cool1:

Did anyone else have a successful day of bookings too?

How fun! What sorts of things are people picking?

It's only our 2nd cruise, so we have 4 more weeks before we can book.

Hello there! I am also new to this site so if I mess this up sorry! We are giving this as a complete surprise as well to our kids. We are thinking about having a huge banner made and let them unroll it christmas morning or have it displayed outside so they can find it. Also having questions on excursions because of the wide age range of our kids. any input would be great! Ages 5, 11, and 18.

The banner sounds like a great idea to surprise the kids! I am still trying to decide how to reveal the news. My kids get PJs each Christmas Eve as a tradition and I have thought of giving them swimsuits instead. On the other hand, I might just re-decorate our Christmas tree in a Disney Cruise theme. Either way, I am so excited to have the bulk of Christmas shopping done!

We have never done this cruise before, so I don't have any advice on excursions. I will be watching for what other people say though! We also have a wide range of ages: 22, 14, 12, 9 and 1.
