I've been reading the WISH boards and decided to do a journal for Me, Myself & I as the title suggests. I'm on the boards everyday anyway, so this would keep me on track. :goodvibes And the people here are great, so I look forward to making friends on the WISH board.

And, to make it more timely, I have 6 months until I'm back at the World...December 5th.

A quick summary, I'm Michele and I have lost 40 pounds so far (went up & down in those 40 pounds as well). I would like to lose another 40 (43 to be exact), but would be happy with another 25. :rotfl: However, I have not moved from my current weight for over a year.

In the last year, I have joined a better gym (meaning classes, cardio machines, sauna) by myself since my friends decided to stay at the fromer gym. I have also started hiking, completing 7 of them so far.

I have tried most of the classes at the gym and my favs are Cardio Kick Boxing, Total Body Conditioning and Boot Camp. I have shocked myself on the treadmill as I can now run for 7 minutes without passing out. :cheer2:

In the last few months, I have hired a trainer for 30 minutes a week and she has commented that I'm definitely getting stronger. I also went through a nutrition program in January, which was helpful, but did not result in any weight loss, much to the puzzlement of the nutritionist.

The odd thing is that I bought jeans in a lower size last month just to have around, so I can reality check myself since the scale is of no pratical use to me it seems. :confused3 AND THEY FIT! I'm not really understanding it, but there it is.

So, here's to the 6 month kick-off to get back to The World! :wizard:

Jounral Entry: 6/4/09

I usually walk for 30 minutes during lunch but could not today since I had to run to the doctor to get a shot. :guilty:

I made sure I got the gym and did the treadmill, walking for 6 minutes before class started. Went for the highpower 4.1 mph! :thumbsup2

I did 60 minutes of Kick Boxing class, keeping up thankfully. Then 30 minutes in the sauna. Sweated out all the bad stuff, hopefully! And drank a big ol bottle of water.

As for the food:

Breakfast:
Pineapple chunks at home, coffee at work

Bottle of Water

Lunch:
Yogurt drink, leftover turkey meatloaf

Snack:
Raisins

On the way to gym, after work:
Apple

After gym:
Boiled Egg

Dinner:
Big ol' salad with romaine lettuce, baby spinach, shredded almonds, berries and mandarin orange slices; salad dressing on the side (I didn't finish it)

Crystal Light drink

I think I remembered everything. All in all, a pretty good day! :flower3:
(other than the shot at the doctor, of course!)

Oh my god! You sound just like us, but with more discipline.
We're heading there on October 18th for the Food and Wine Fest. I was hoping to lose quite a bit before we go, now I'm hoping for 40 lbs in the next 136 days... Like to lose 70 in total... Eeek!

I saw your post and had to respond. The last/first time I posted was right before we headed to the 2008 F&W, but my brother was in a boating accident as we flew there, and we had to turn right back. It's the first time we've missed the F&W since 1999. We can't wait to go again. Cross your fingers that this time we get to stay. (At least for the time we've booked.)

I hope I can be as dedicated as you seem to be. I'd be happy to lose weight right along with you.

Best of Luck! I'm rooting for you! :cheer2:

:welcome:

And thank for your kinds words! I don't know about being disciplined, but I'm trying. Sometimes, it is difficult not to let frustration get the better of you.

I've never been to the F&W Festival, but, maybe that'll be something for the future. The food part anyway; I am not a fan of wine (unless it is sweet n fruity!). Since 1999? Wow! You are an uber-expert then! What is the best advice?

I'm sorry about your bro! I hope he's ok now?

I'm crossing my fingers for you! *crosses fingers*

Ok, so I had a few errands planned for today, so I got up and going. I do not work on Fridays, since we switch to summer hours (longer hours on the 4 remaining days). And Holy Buckets, it's raining and raining and raining!

Breakfast:
Small bowl of Mom's Best Wheat-fuls cereal with skim milk
Banana

I had to run to SSA to get a replacement card and waited for over an hour. I get there at 9:50am, thinking the earlier the better. But noooo, 2 window workers took a 30 minute break at 10:15am! They were only working since 9am. :headache:

I finally get out shortly after 11am, run to my post office box, then the bank. I head back home for some lunch.

Lunch:
Small PB&J sandwhich (love these! PB is fat-free)
Some pineapple chunks
Rest of my salad from last night
Cup of coffee

I have to do a few things to do on the PC, some housekeeping chores (I think I'll consider that physical activity ) and I need to check out the local vets for my cat, Prozac.

And I'm planning on hitting the gym, if I can finish my list for this afternoon. It's Total Body Conditioning class tonight, one of my favs.

-----

I decided not to go to the gym, but to hang with some friends instead. I don't get to see them much, but I did to have a correct balance between work, home, gym, family lives.

So, we go out and my dinner is breakfast. I love breakfast for dinner!

Dinner:
Panckake Sandwhich
Coffee

Later, we stop at Starbucks and I have my fav Chai Tea Latte. Yum!

Sometimes, the weekends are the greatest, but for me, it is the most difficult to have a schedule.

I didn't do much on Saturday, since I wasn't feeling so hot and felt super guilty, since I do have a while list of things to do. :sad2:

I had dry cereal for breakfast (sometimes I don't need milk); some osup for lunch and stromboli for dinner.

On Sunday, I woke up fairly early and do some chores, but I'm still not too hot, but I promised my sister to head over to her house for dinner. I also get to see my niece with whom I went to Disney with last month. I still don't have any Photopass pictures to share with her. :sad2:

We had salad and spiced chicken for dinner, followed by some good coffee and a teeny tiny slick of strawberry shortcake. I also drank quite a bit of aqua too. :)

Next time, I don't think I'll do another Photopass share. All this waiting and no communication is quite trying.

Ah, another day!

For today, it was running around in the mroning trying not to be too late for work since I woke up super late. I was, but only a little bit.

I had some yogurt with raisins (greek style - yum!) for lunch, yogurt drink thingy for a snack plus some almonds and an awesome huge salad for dinner.

The salad was some romaine lettuce, baby spinach, almond slices, manadarin oranges, chicken - all good stuff. I think I even threw in the last of my berry trail mix as well.

I didn't finish it, so I'm having it tomorrow for lunch.

I also didn't go to the gym today, but will take up all slack tomorrow. I had to deal with some brother stuff. Boy drives me insane!!! i also got in touch with the vet I want to check for my cat, Prozac.

I called and she seemed nicer when I said I wanted to visit since I heard good things. They don't stay open late but at least, they have Saturday hours.

Yes, I finally made it to the gym! :woohoo:
I haven't been there in 4 days, so I only do 45 minutes on the treadmill. I do break my previous record and kept running for 8 minutes at various speeds, the highest being 7.0 mph. :thumbsup2

La Eating goes something like this...

Breakfast (it was Birthday Day at work!):
Coffee at work
Mini-danish
and a couple of dunkin donut holes...I know! I know! :rolleyes1

Lunch:
Rest of my salad
Yogurt (I should mention I :lovestruc yogurt!)
Water

I did not walk on my lunch, since it was raining cats and dogs!

After work, I headed to my gym adventure....see above :cheer2:
I also find out from the owner that my trainer is leaving. :sad1: So, I have to figure out whether I want to sign up for more training or not.

After gym, I had my boiled egg - need some protein!

Dinner:
I completely forget to defrost anything, so it's soup for me
Ginger cookies - love these too!

And I remember to take out dinner for tomorrow, which is the Trader Joe's chicken marinated in toato & basil, yum!!

I also did alot of nothing tonight. I should have done some sort of housekeeping (maybe :laundy: - lol!!), checkbooking.....but didn't. Ah well! Working out did take a bit out of me, plus I was still a little tuckered out from not feeling so hot the last few days.

Onward! :yay:

I woke up 45 minutes late today, so no walking on my lunch break. :sad1:

The day went like this....

Breakfast:
Finished my pineapple chunks at home
Coffee (and another mini-danish! ;)) at work

Lunch:
Greek yogurt with some raisins mixed in (good stuff!)

Snack:
Apple on the way to the gym

GYM (see below)

Snack:
Boiled egg after the gym

Dinner:
Trader Jo's chicken tenders in tomato & basil
Crystal Light - pink lemonade

I made it to the gym again and did:
30 minutes of circuit training
60 minutes of Pilates

I haven't done circuit training in some time and worked up a bit of a sweat! This was also the first time I did a Pilates class. I liked it; I might do it again next week. :goodvibes

Now, it is time for some beauty sleep!

Hey Jersey Girl!

You're sounding pretty disciplined to me. :thumbsup2

We've still not really started the diet yet. I think next week is our official 4 months 'til WDW, so I'm setting my count down to start then.

I guess you could call us F&W experts. (Don't ask us too much about the wine though, we're more the food and beer types.) May explain our beer bellies... Hmmm... ;)

Last year was a tough one. We lost my big brother at age 45 after over 2 weeks in a coma. His 46th would have been on June 6th. I've been a little nervous to go back. When I found out about the accident we'd just arrived and couldn't leave until the next morning so we headed into the F&W. I'd have to say I was in shock.

There is literally nothing sadder than the Happiest Place on Earth when you're that sad. (Yeah, I know that's DL's slogan, but you know what I mean.) I was afraid that I'd lose the joy of Disney after that. On a fluke we had booked another vacation there in January this year, so I got to go right back, well before the anniversary. (Nothing like getting right back on that horse again.) That makes me feel much better about going there this October. We leave a few days sooner this October too.

Anyway, enough sad stuff. :sad1:

Life is short, carpe diem, as they say.

Have you been to WDW during the holidays before? I've seen a little of the decorations when we've been there in mid-November. I'm sure it's absolutely beautiful. You'll have to post lots of pics when you get back.

Keep up the good work, hopfully I'll be joining you on the weight loss train soon. :)

hiya 2epcot! Thanks for following! Let me know when/if you start a journal.
I'm sorry about your brother! My sympathies
Yes, I am looking forward to the holiodays at the World. :goodvibes

Where did I leave off? Wednesday, the 10th?

I am much more disciplined on the weekdays than the weekend.

For Thursday, the 11th, I did 60 minutes of class in the gym. It was Kickboxing, so I worked up quite a sweat. :thumbsup2

For the weekend, I did not go to the gym at all, though I meant to go to Friday night class and/or Saturday morning class. Ah well. :rolleyes1

I was running around Friday morning doing all sorts of errands and ended with going to the docs to get some bloodwork done and just didn't feel like going to the gym after that.

Saturday morning, I had no excuse at all not to go to the gym. But I did do quite a bit of housework all day on Sunday. :flower3:

I think my eating went ok. I really don't remember what I had, but it wasn't bad or anything other than the sugar rush cupcake I had after my bloodwork on Friday afternoon. I had to fast for 12 hours and it was more like 15 by the time I got there, so I was super duper hungry!

I do have to go to the market, but it has to wait until tomorrow after work. I'm definitely headed to the gym after work tonight. There's a class that I have never taken before called 30/30 that I want to try out. Plus, I'll do an extra 20 minutes on the glute machine thingie. :cheer2:

Ok, journal entry to come for today, but later!

Ok, so I finally got thyself to a gym!

The day went okay, methinks. :goodvibes

Breakfast:
Coffee at work
Breakfast bar thingies at work (Oatmeal raisin)

Lunch:
Yogurt
(I will have to resolve to stop my yogurt fixes!)
Water

Snack:
Fruit & Grain bar
Apple on the way to the gym

Dinner:
Breaded chicken compliments of Mr Perdue
Cauliflower (I know I didn't spell that right)
Sweet Poatoe (or is it a yam?)

The exercizing went well! and a drank another big ol' bottle of aqua. :)
20 minutes walking at lunch
20 minutes on glute machine at gym
60 minutes of 30/30 class (30 of cardio/20 strength/10 abs)

The 30/30 class kicked my glutus maximus! I was sweating like no tomorrow. I was happy for it to be over and get thyself home. I felt good about it too. :goodvibes

I woke up a bit late again today - I gotta stop doing that! - so I didn't eat breakfast, which I know is very bad.

Breakfast:
Coffee at work - have I mentiond how much I like coffee? :lovestruc

Lunch:
I actually went out to lunch with a few ladies from my old office! :goodvibes
Cheese Omelet (I think breakfast is good for any time of day )
Coffee

Snack:
Cookie from lunch

Dinner:
Baked chicken with brown rice, broccoli in marinara sauce
Crystal light drink

Since I went out to lunch, I didn't do my walking. I was able to get to the gym.
60 minutes of total body conditioning class (combination of stretching, strength training, cardio)
20 minutes of treadmill (10 min walking/10 min running)

All in all, not bad!

Whoo-hoo! :woohoo: I woke up right on time and made it to work ontime at 8am! *doin' a little dance*

However, since I was going to a retirement party for one of the ladies from my old office, I did not go to the gym today. This could be a good thing since my arms are killing me! Holy buckets!

And since we seem to have 40 days and 40 nights of rain, no walking during lunch either. :sad2:

Breakfast:
My usual coffee
Some cracker & cheese (there was a mini party thing going on)

Lunch:
Water
Remainder of my dinner the night before, chicken dish with broccoli & brown rice

Snack:
Fruit Bar

Dinner:
(retirement party)
Salad (just lettuce!)
mini pizza slice appy thing
penne & chicken dish (didn't finish)
2 mini cannoli

I then had to go food shopping afterwards and since my market is in the same strip mall, there was no excuse. And, it makes a better excuse not to go to the gym. So, I rushed to do that and FINALLY made it back home at 10:30pm after being gone 15 hours. Boy, am I tired!!! :dance3:

I put away everything and literally fell into bed and hoping I don't like :surfweb: in the morning.

I definitely have to hit the gym tomorrow to make up for the dinner tonight and then visit a Harmons. I should probably weigh myself too just to see if there has been any difference. :confused3

Ugh, sometimes I hate the weekend. I can never get myself to do all th things I need to do. :headache:

I'm much more disciplined during the week, including eating and working out.

I did not go to the gym all weekend and I really need to change that. I only went 2x last week, though it was for (over) 90 minutes each, which was great.

The food for the weekend was okay, no major slip-ups. So, I just to get to th gym at least 3x during the week, plus at least 1x during the weekend.

On the good side, I met with 2 different landscapers, so I should have a decent outside by the end of the week! :goodvibes

Back to Monday!

I was only 10 minutes late for work this time. :lmao:

Breakfast:
Coffee
Yoplait Vanilla yogurt with raisins

Lunch:
Dinner leftovers - chicken, brocolli & corn
Water

Snack:
100 calorie Jello pudding thingies

Dinner:
Salad with romaine, baby spinach, peaches, chicken

I stoppedn at Harmons before the gym to pick up a few items and snuck in a few M&Ms!! LOL!

Exercize:
20 minute power walk at lunch
45 minutes on glute machine
45 minutes on treadmill running/walking

Ok, so this day wasn't too bad getting to work in time...it's always a work in progess. :rolleyes1 I think I was 13 minutes.

Breakfast:
Coffee
Yogurt (see..I am trying to move it to morning)

Lunch:
Salad left over from last night
Water

Snack:
Almonds

Dinner:
Turkey sausage with brown rice (and some BBQ sauce....yum!!)
Crystal Light ice tea
Junior mints! :lovestruc

Exercize:
-I took a quick weigh-in and lost nothing! Geesh.
-30 minutes treadmill - running/walking, concentrated a bit more on moving the incline up & down to change things up a little
-60 minutes of total body conditioning - bit of weights (did 8 lb-ers! & 15 lb bar), leg work (ouch!) and ab work with the streching cord thingies
-I didn't do a walk at lunch since I was a little sore from yesterday

I will try to get myself back to the sauna as well; I haven't been in there for awhile.

So, today is the D23 event in NYC for Mary Poppins! :yay::yay:

Since I knew I wasn't going to the gym, I did try to take my lunch power walk but no go. It started raining just as I started walking. And I missed photographing a pretty little deer. :guilty:

Both of my bosses are out today:cool1:, but their boss is in.:scared:

MY day as follows:

Breakfast:
Coffee (as usual! LOL!) :surfweb:
Yogurt

Lunch:
Left over from dinner yesterday (there wasn't much left)
Jello sugar free pudding
Box o' raisins

Snack:
Some almonds

Dinner:
Turkey & Avacado sandwhich on multi-gran bread
(from Europa Cafe in NYC where I was attending the D23 event)
Coffee

Snack:
On the way home on the bus - rice krispie treat!

All in all, it was mostly a sit down day. :lmao:
I posted a review of the D23 event, if you are so interested. Just see the TR thread in my signature or click my name to see the D23 threads. :goodvibes

Here we are at Monday again. :goodvibes

Told ya, I'm not very disciplined on the weekends. Never made it to the gym ALL weekend. I did, however, manage to do several housegkeeping projects. :thumbsup2

Today, I did get to work on time at 8am, only to remember that we are back to regular hours due to the upcoming July 4th holiday! So, I was a half hour earlier.

Breakfast - usual coffee and a Genisoy bar (love these :lovestruc)

Snack - some grapes

Lunch - yogurt (I know! I know! but I didn't have any leftovers)

Keep it up! Sounds like you're doing great!

We still haven't even started yet. (We're pushing off the diet until after our 3 day weekend. Excuses, excuses...) Anywho, keep it up. I'll try to join you on your healthy wagon soon.

PS: I did at least work out three days so far this week. It's hard when it's 108 out, but I've been doing indoor step or nordictrack to keep it cool. ;)
