A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

Man, where have I been?!? I was pages behind! Thankfully just one update though. Which was a great one! You guys got a ton covered in MK! :thumbsup2

What the HECK was up with the CM for making you feel bad with Santa?!?! Seriously. They don't belong where they are working. You had every single right to skip the line. EVERY. Grrr. That makes me mad. I so woulda had a snarky comment for her. :rolleyes1

Juliana rode with me.... guess who picked this color?

DSC00831.jpg

Admit it Tim. ;)

The two girls in their custom dresses was so stinkin' cute!!!

I saw your PM. I say SHOUT IT NOW!!!! :yay:

Hi Liesa, yes my name is Molly.:goodvibes Nice to meet you too!:goodvibes

Hmmm, men with 20 fewer teeth, California raisin complexions and they carry whips? Sounds like a fabulous eHarmony profile! Tim doesn't look all that raisiny, I've never counted how many teeth he has BUT I have seen him with a whip. So you're right!

Phew, finally found it. ;) Maybe Tim is wearing a gigantic bridge... I dunno, if they all think I have hairy feet, then you never know waht others may be hiding... :lmao:

Boo to the knucklehead CM by Santa.

:yay::yay: for all the rides you got to do in MK.

That dress is so adorable and it looks like Ana had so much fun showing everyone her dress.

It does make me a little sad but I am excited to see the expansion. I just wish they added a little more for boys... :confused3

Maybe she was having an off day, or maybe because Juliana doesn't have any visible ailments she thought we were trying to milk the system or something. :confused3 I'd like to think she was just having a bad day though. :confused3

First of all, you're right on about adding more for boys. I don't get it. I know the Princesses are a massive money-maker, but there are plenty of things you could bring in for boys, too. Plus, I would argue that boys and girls are both into the Pixar movies, at least to some extent. Though, I have to say, Max loves Beauty and the Beast and I'm sure he'll be thrilled to meet Belle! So go figure that one.

As for the miserable CM, I hope she never has to find out the hard way that just because it isn't visible, it doesn't mean you're not sick. I have a DF with an autoimmune disorder that is slowly killing her. Can you tell by looking at her? No. Course not. And she works at the MK why, exactly?

The mailbox was outside the Emporium. It should be very easy to find.

I salute your DH. Although I feel like inner city schools are sometimes easier than suburban schools.

I've seen people taking pictures of the construction so I wanted to get my own.

I'll be waiting... popcorn::popcorn::

Thanks for the tip. I actually teach in New Haven and I would agree with that. Not sure I could handle the parents in a suburban school! :lmao:

it is not something that should be made that public, it is pretty embarrasing when marv shows people up in something.
I have no witty remark.. you are right. ::yes:: :lmao::lmao:

im sure you didnt mind googling that.
Well, it wasn't a waste of time.

I have really enjoyed all the updates and photos.... I got behind but it was fun to read it all.... Thanks!
Thanks for still reading along! Don't forget the links in the second post. I have to use other people's sometimes when real life gets in the way of DIS time. :lmao:

Wow, I fell behind a lot being out of town for a week!
Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip. :goodvibes

Love the dress that Juliana was wearing. So adorable!
Thanks! It was made by a fellow DISer for her. princess:

I am truly flabbergasted at the whole CM experience when meeting Santa. Any GAC is issued for a reason, and it's not anyone's place to judge when there is nothing "visibly wrong" with a person. I really hate the mentality of some people.
I hope it was just the fact that she was having a bad day. I think I have to keep saying this to convince myself that is what happened. :confused3

Tim I read all your updates last night and just had a chance to read again so I could sign. You take such care in all of your reports, I want to make sure I "digest" it all...sometimes I miss stuff when I am tired.

Thanks for reading it all again!

You can tell the 'quality' of my update depending on what time I post it. Usually any time after 12am- all bets are off! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I LOVED all of the photos and how much you were all able to accomplish in such a short time. All I will say about Santa is I am thrilled you got to see him and didn't let that color your feelings on how wonderfully you were treated otherwise! :goodvibes Juliana is such a cutie pie :lovestruc and wears her customs like a model.
Thanks! We were zooming through Toontown and Fantasyland and seeing characters. It was a great few hours in MK.

I am sorry she was scared on Snow White, it truly is a bit of a disturbing ride when you think of how kid frinedly Fantasyland is...to this day my 20 year old talks about the very FIRST ride he rode in Disney World scaring the life out of him (who knew that witch was gong to pop out like that???). We had NO idea what to expect, Snow White seemed tame to me! :lmao: I didn't have the DIS to educate me on what I needed to know then....
LOL Funny story!

We really didn't know what to expect with SW either. We figured it couldn't be THAT bad.... I'm sure Juliana would beg to differ! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Man, where have I been?!? I was pages behind! Thankfully just one update though. Which was a great one! You guys got a ton covered in MK! :thumbsup2
It's ok... I am ALWAYS behind. :headache:

Technically, in orientation they tell you that the GAC is not a 'front of the line pass' and that it isn't used for the characters. But every CM that sees it usually brings you to the front.

Admit it Tim. ;)
OK OK I PICKED IT!!!! (for Juliana)

The two girls in their custom dresses was so stinkin' cute!!!
Thanks!

I saw your PM. I say SHOUT IT NOW!!!! :yay:
Don't you think I've done enough shouting in this post already? popcorn::popcorn::

Phew, finally found it. ;) Maybe Tim is wearing a gigantic bridge... I dunno, if they all think I have hairy feet, then you never know waht others may be hiding... :lmao:
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I think my teeth are pretty good, thank you very much. I do have one at the bottom that is getting pushed and starting to turn a bit though. :headache::headache:

Boo to the knucklehead CM by Santa.
That's right! Booooooo :rotfl:

:yay::yay: for all the rides you got to do in MK.
This is a post that needs sounds effects. ::yes::

That dress is so adorable and it looks like Ana had so much fun showing everyone her dress.
Thank you. She learned pretty quickly after the first few photopass photographers told her to pull it out. :rotfl2:

You will have to take MANY photos for Max meeting Belle... these will come in handy at his wedding!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

She wasn't the most pleasant of people we encountered but we didn't really let it affect us.

So sorry to hear about your friend.

Thanks for the tip. I actually teach in New Haven and I would agree with that. Not sure I could handle the parents in a suburban school! :lmao:
I rather DJ at a city school than a suburban school any day! ::yes::

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Guess we all should have worn our retainers a bit more. Like Ma always told us to.

So, Tim, when are you going to shout IT? It's getting pretty darn close...:rolleyes1

I'll just keep subtly buggin' ya....! LOL!

Guess we all should have worn our retainers a bit more. Like Ma always told us to.
I was one of the lucky ones. No braces or retainers for me... I saved my parents some money. My brother on the other hand had to have his whole palette(sp?) stretched because it was too small for his teeth. 1 turn a day. Not fun.

I'll just keep subtly buggin' ya....! LOL!
You women are all alike. Kathy subtly bugs me about my TR all the time! ;) :lmao::lmao::lmao:

For the record, someone has to keep me accountable!!!!!! ::yes:: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Phew, we're back from our trip and I am slowly getting caught up on all of the DIS reading. Your TR definitely took me a while to get back on track. I have to say that I love all the pics! Bummer that you didn't get to see the stepsisters and stepmother with Juliana in that dress. We saw them out a few times in Fantasyland. It seemed as though the characters were everywhere this trip. That would have been a fun interaction to see.

Super cute pics on Dumbo and Barnstormer. I hope they keep Mickey and Minnie's houses somewhere too. I loved seeing it all decorated for the holidays.

I have yet to make it to Kona for breakfast, we've only done dinner there. Too many places we want to eat at, not enough time or meals (or money). I am dying to try their macadamia nut pancakes though.

I'll keep taking notes from Kathy then and keep bugging you!!!

I'm guessing you are almost done with this TR and going to end it a certain way... ?

Sorry for all the updates. :flower3: :rotfl2:

You guys had awesome weather huh? I heard the crowds weren't all to bad either.

I wonder where they are going to go? Disney archives? :sad2:

I tried to find my picture of the macadamia nut pancakes for you but I could't find it. They are soooooo good!!!!! I'll keep serching... I know I have it somewhere.

I already do! Wore them to local hotel one sunday for dinner and the looks I got :lmao:
LOL Any video of this? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Oh no. This could get ugly!:rolleyes:

Nope sorry lol! I have to be careful where I wear them now though I think... like maybe don't wear them to the three star hotel for sunday dinner :littleangel:
Maybe I'll wear them to disney at xmas ;)

We had just spent a beautiful morning and early afternoon in the Magic Kingdom and now we were on our way to Hollywood Studios. Why is it when you arrive late in the afternoon they put you in the farthest parking lot? I know the reason but come-on. There are so many open spots up close!! LOL If you have ever seen us travel to the parks you would see a stroller, purse(not mine), 2-3 bags, water bottles, jackets & sweatshirts, camera, and a camcorder. We figured jumping on the tram was a good idea, but when you are carrying all this stuff, it is easier to just keep it packed in the stroller and walk. LOL

We made it off the tram, moved to the side and piled all our 'stuff' back in there.. oh but wait, we had to take it all out again for the bag check. I think the CMs working the bag check must think we are nuts bringing all this stuff. Anyway, on the way to the bag check we saw DHS Christmas tree. I think I liked it the best out of the 3 parks we visited.

It was already 3:20 and we had a 3:40 ADR for Mama Melrose. Not my ideal time to eat but after a huge breakfast and snacking in MK, it was welcome. We didn't even make it onto Hollywood Blvd. because the parade was going on. We had to weave around people and through the shops to get back towards the Streets of America. We walked past the Muppets and there was a lonely photopass photographer. We had time for a quick picture or two.

Photo0223FourBySix.jpg

One of my favorite pics of the entire trip.

Photo0227FourBySix.jpg

After a few pics, over to Mama Melrose we went. The girls stayed outside and I went to check in. For some reason it was extremely busy... maybe because for the Fantasmic! packages? I donno but while I was waiting in line to check in, I heard the CM turn 2 different people away who were trying to walk up. One guy was getting mad that there was no TS restaurants available. He couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe he was trying to get a seat with no ADR. I made it to the counter and there was going to be a little wait. No biggie. I went back outside to tell the girls. When I got to them there was a lady asking where we bought Juliana's dress because she wanted one for her daughter. We explained that someone made it for her for as a gift but I don't think she was listening to us. It was like she wanted to whip out some cash and buy it from us right there. LOL Then there was another lady who asked if she could take a picture of Juliana to show her daughter the beautiful dress. So if you see a random pic of Juliana here on the DIS, you'll know why. LOL

We were still waiting so I took Juliana over to see the snowman.

DSC00881.jpg

Before long they were calling us in for our Linner. We had a great waiter and I ordered a beer. It was a long day up to this point, and we still had a few hours to go. I felt like I could of eaten a horse but I was at an Italian restaurant. How about some fried calamari?

DSC00882.jpg

The calamari and peppers was awesome! The gravy was a little lacking. I wasn't loving it, but it was edible.

Juliana had the kids pizza with apple slices.

DSC00884.jpg

Melody and I both ordered meals which we were going to split. First was a grilled chicken flatbread.

DSC00885.jpg

It was good but I didn't love the pancetta.

We also split penne ala vodka... which we added shrimp to.

DSC00886.jpg

That was really good. The sauce tasted totally different than the sauce that came with the calamari. I guess all that heavy cream and vodka helped!!!! LOL

We really enjoyed our meal and when it came time for dessert, we were stuffed. Even Juliana, who got a sundae included with her meal, passed on dessert. She must of been filled! I took a few pictures inside the restaurant that didn't come out too well so I deleted them.

We made it back outside and we needed a plan. What is the biggest, bestest, most sought after attraction in DHS? Toy Story! We gathered all our stuff and headed across the park for a little TSM!

DSC00887.jpg

I didn't do to well this time but at least I didn't get the beaver!

DSC00891.jpg

DSC00893.jpg

We wanted to see a few characters that we have never seen before... what better place then in the Animation Courtyard. We have never went into The Magic of Disney Animation area before.

DSC00894.jpg

Juliana loved these pictures from Cinderella.

DSC00895.jpg

We continued down the hall and found that something smelled like strawberries! It was Lotso! We got in the short line to see him.

DSC00898.jpg

Photo0248FourBySix.jpg

We also saw Chip & Dale...

Juliana was giving out all kinds of hugs.

Continued Next Post

After seeing Chip & Dale we walked over to the Sorcerer Mickey line. There was about 7 families in front of us. I'm not sure if we just got in line because of what had happened earlier in MK, but we felt we could wait a few minutes. We were two families from meeting Mickey, when Mickey had to go have some cheese. So we were talking with the families next to us and the CM saw Juliana's GAC and the GKTW button. She 'yelled' at us (asked us) why we were waiting in line- we should of got her attention and we could of skipped the line. We told her we didn't mind waiting. We had a nice conversation with her and she also told us that we volunteers at GKTW. She was very nice and the total opposite of the MK CM.

Mickey was done with his snack and soon it was our turn.

DSC00907.jpg

Photo0251FourBySix.jpg

The CM asked us if we wanted to get in the picture and asked me for the camera. She ended up taking about 10 pictures with my camera. Here are a few shots from the photopass.

Photo0261FourBySix.jpg

Photo0274FourBySix.jpg

Mickey really took his time with Juliana and it was a great character interaction.

On our way out we saw 1 more character that didn't have a line. Mrs. Incredible. Juliana had no clue who she was. LOL

DSC00909.jpg

We walked back out to the Animation Courtyard and Juliana spotted Quincy and June from the Little Einstein's.

More hugs.

DSC00911.jpg

DSC00913.jpg

Juliana really wanted to see Handy Manny since she was on a Handy Manny kick at the time. We finished up pictures with the Little Einstein's and went to see Handy Manny except he started to leave. Juliana ran over to him and the CM told her sorry HM had to go... until he noticed her GKTW button. He whispered to HM and he gave her a big hug and posed for a few pictures.

DSC00914.jpg

DSC00915.jpg

I thanked the CM. I really appreciated what he did for us.

Since we were next to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, we walked over to the show with perfect timing. The doors had just opened. We ended up in the front row which was good but it was a little hard to see being up so close.

We were on a mission... it was getting close to 7 and that is when the Toy Story characters would be leaving. We have never seen Buzz & Woody together so what's a few more character photos?

DSC00921.jpg

It is really neat how they fit Wish kids in. There was a side door that we slipped in with only 1 family being able to see us 'cut' the line. We were quick with Woody & Buzz and said thank you to the family that was next.

It was 7 and Juliana was starting to get tired. There was one MAJOR attraction we HAD to see before we left. The Osbourne Lights! This was the main reason we chose to come to DHS in the first place....

Continued next post....

We continued over to the Streets of America. If any of you are ever in Disney during Christmas, you HAVE to see the Osbourne Lights!! It is absolutely amazing!!!!! There are hundreds of thousands of lights and every 3 or so songs, the lights start blinking in time to the music.

I think we could of stayed there watching for hours but it was very, very busy. Trying to navigate through this sea of people with a stroller was not fun. After walking through, we went back across the park to stop at the candy store next Starring Rolls (I forgot the name) to buy a few goodies. We were thinking of getting the chocolate covered pretzel sticks but after finding out that 1 stick was $3.95, we opted for the chocolate covered marshmallows. I thought about going on either RnRC or ToT but Juliana was running out of steam. The funny part was we were standing directly in front of RnRC and we just decided not to do it.

She is getting close.

DSC00938.jpg

We made our way towards the exit. It is funny, Juliana doesn't look to tired in this picture! LOL

Photo0315FourBySix.jpg

We walked out of the studios and we walked right past the tram. There was no way I was getting back on that thing again. We just walked and jogged to the car. Once again we piled all of our stuff back in the car.

I was debating stopping in DTD because there was a big DIS Dad meet going on at Ghirardelli's.. decisions, decisions.... Unfortunately, my decision was made for me. Juliana was passed out in the back seat by the time we were out of the parking lot. She was totally beat.

We took the drive back to GKTW and when we got back, there was a little gift left for Juliana.

DSC00941.jpg

I was able to hop on the DIS at 10:25 and post this before bed.

Day 4 is in the books. Only 3 days to go. Today was the warmest day by far and tomorrow should be warm as well. We went to MK after breakfast then DHS around 3. We were going to try to meet a few ppl tonight at DTD but Juliana was way to tired. The lack of sleep has caught up with her. Tomorrow we are meeting Melody's cousin and family at Seaworld. I can't believe we are more than 1/2 way done with our trip. Juliana wore her Cinderella/ step-sisters dress and it was such a hit with everybody. :goodvibes

Up next... Would our SW day measure up to our Disney days?
