A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

Wow, that was an eventful update. Sorry that Juliana bumped her head, but I'm glad she bounced back pretty quickly. Your heart must have been pounding seeing all the commotion centered around your two girls.

I love that they decorated your room! It brought tears to my eyes to see that much kindness and generosity for such a deserving family (and all the deserving families). They really know how to make your trip special. I can't wait to tell the little girl I know about it. She was talking about Disney last night at work and I know she will love the village.

Hope you guys don't get hit with too much ice and snow. I'm praying the weather people are wrong since we are supposed to fly out to Disney on Wednesday! :scared1: Pretty sure we're screwed and all that planning is going to be totally shot.

GKTW is truly an amazing place! And if you want to know why you were swimming when it was only sixty-five degress out... :lmao: maybe becuase where we're from that would feel pretty tropical right now? And how could you turn Juliana down, especially when she just looks so cute in her little pink floaty?

The tea party looked lovely. Sorry that Juliana bumped her head, but its good to know that Disney took it seriously, although you would think giving her ice would have been the first thing they would have done. :confused3

Adorable pictures, too. Great update.

Somehow, I think that if you were doing the Liesa Greetings in the story, the effects wouldn't be quite the same.

I agree. If I did that, it would quickly turn into a horror story.

Wow, Tim, when you do an update, you REALLY do an update. Juliana looks beautiful in her dress, and as a guy, I'm sure you appreciated being able to bail on the tea party... :rolleyes1

Going for that Kona coffee was an excellent choice, by the way. :thumbsup2 Sounds like a great, relaxing morning.

I gotta say, though, I'm increasingly worried about Disney tables and other miscellaneous furniture. First Magdalene was attacked by a table at the AKL and now poor Juliana was ambushed here. I have yet to see if these wild killer tables have migrated beyond the deluxe resorts, but I'll keep you posted as updates come in. Thank goodness she recovered so well.

And Disney's response almost seems comical. I guess they can never take any chances, and it's better to over-react than under-react, but still, it's almost like they sent in the SWAT teams. I suppose we can be thankful that they didn't send in Hewey, Dewey and Louie dressed as EMT's. :rotfl2:

We were going to go the the Gingerbread house for breakfast but we decided to call the breakfast cart- and have breakfast brought to us. Within 15 minutes the cart was pulling up to our villa. Melody was still getting ready so Juliana and I went out to see what was on it.

DSC00660.jpg

A breakfast cart is a great idea!

I waved good bye to the girls as I wasn't staying for the party... hummm what should I do?

How about hop a ride on the Monorail.

I continued on the loop and got off at the Poly. This is where I was going to spend my alone time. I walked over to Kona Island Cafe Coffee Bar and asked for a cup of 100% Kona coffee- like they serve in the restaurant but they only serve the blend here. So I walked over to Kona Cafe and asked for a table. I told my server Pat that I just wanted a press pot. She said no problem and before long, I was sitting in Kona by myself, drinking a pressed pot all to my self. I was sitting there people watching and just relaxing.

Oh, this is the way to go! Way better than some froufrou tea party!

I was finishing up my pressed pot when I got a text from Melody saying 'Come Here Now'

Ruh roh. I hope Juliana was okay...looked like she was after all of the attention died down.

I was trying to console Juliana while Melody was fielding question after question from Disney managers. The EMTs came over to Juliana and were asking her all kinds of questions. One of them wanted her to read his name tag. She couldn't read his name, not because she was out of it but because she is only 4 years old and can't read yet.

"Little girl...

What's the 16th digit of pi? C'mon, quick!

What is the escape velocity of the earth's gravitational pull?

What were the first names of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

What is the Decalogue more commonly called?

Does time "flow," do we move through time, or is time just an invented way of separating events?

What is the evolutionary purpose of music and art?

I'm sorry sir, she can't answer any of these questions. We'd better get her to a hospital right away."

A few pictures while we were waiting for the car.

DSC00698.jpg

How long until spats come back into fashion? That'd be awesome.

While I was getting the bags out the car, Melody & Juliana went inside the villa. Juliana started SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. All the people across the road head her and started laughing. They all had huge smiles on their faces. I walked in and saw why Juliana was so excited...

How great that the decorators got to hear her excitement!

I don't know how I was talked into going swimming while it was 65 degrees out but the sun was shining, it wasn't windy, and the pool was heated.

DSC00718.jpg

We had fun playing in the pool- as long as we stayed under the water!

Somehow dads always get saddled with "cold swim" duty. :sad2:

A beautiful Princess tea party. Those marble tables can pack a wallop.

You would think they would know that 50 EMT's decending on a 4 year old might make the situation worse.

I wonder if taking the other girls out was part of the plan or was it done early to give you privacy while they evaluated her.

I bet a bump on the head was called in as a head injury and everyone came out of the woodwork just in case.

Ain't that the truth!

I hope Juliana was ok after all of that, did she suffer from any effects on it later during the trip?
She seemed fine.. just very upset when it happened.

The tea party looked like a lot of fun, other than the accident, and how awesome that she still had pool time before dinner.

Looking forward to more:goodvibes
The girls had such a good time at the party.::yes::

All she talked about for weeks was going swimming while we were at Disney.

Just getting caught up. So sorry to hear of the upset at the Tea Party. I know how much Juliana was looking forward to it. Glad she was able to catch the end of the party.
:welcome:

It was a little fiasco but it didn't totally ruin her time at the party.

What a fun filled day for her. Sucks about her hitting her head though. Glad she wasn't hurt to awful bad and was able to continue on with the party. She's a real trooper.
All she wanted to do was join in with the parade, and she couldn't. (at that moment)

And that boat....I would LOVE to take that out on the water too!
It starts around $750 I think. :confused3

I have to say that all the Princess were lovely but Julianna was by far the prettiest Princess there! princess: Glad that she only suffered a bump and nothing more! She looked adorable in her swim suit! Nice fun update!!
Thank you...

I was barely able to eat my lunch.. all she wanted to do was swim! :rotfl2:

I went from curious to panicked in about 1 second. I'm glad it wasn't anything major, but it was something I wish we didn't have to deal with.

I'm telling you the village is amazing. Even more amazing are the people who volunteer their time there.

Hope you guys don't get hit with too much ice and snow. I'm praying the weather people are wrong since we are supposed to fly out to Disney on Wednesday! :scared1: Pretty sure we're screwed and all that planning is going to be totally shot.
I heard on the news last night that many airlines are waving change fees. Is there anyway you can get out early?

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!!! :wizard:

LOL You are right. If it was 65 degrees here today I'd be swimming. ::yes::

She is too funny.. I think she already knows how to manipulate us. princess: :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

The girls had a wonderful time at the party. I can understand Disney covering their butt with all the EMTs and managers. It wasn't Disney's fault, Juliana just slipped off the chair because she had on her princess dress.

Wow, Tim, when you do an update, you REALLY do an update. Juliana looks beautiful in her dress, and as a guy, I'm sure you appreciated being able to bail on the tea party... :rolleyes1
Mark, I'm trying to get this TR done. We are about to be in Feb now.... popcorn::

Juliana's Wish granters asked if I wanted to join in with the Tea Party. I thought it would be nice to have the girls go to spend some time together. Plus then I got a hour to myself. ;)

Going for that Kona coffee was an excellent choice, by the way. :thumbsup2 Sounds like a great, relaxing morning.

Please keep me updated.

I understand that they have to cover themselves with all the sue happy people out there.:sad2:

A breakfast cart is a great idea!
It was... plus it was very convenient. ::yes::

Oh, this is the way to go! Way better than some froufrou tea party!
LOL Glad you approve!

Ruh roh. I hope Juliana was okay...looked like she was after all of the attention died down.
Just a knot for a few hours... and a little embarrassment.

I don't think I have an answer to any of those questions either!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

It was a good look. I'm not sure if I would be able to pull it off though.

Somehow dads always get saddled with "cold swim" duty. :sad2:
I usually am able to pawn that off... but not this time. My DW wasn't feeling it.:sad2: She didn't even put on her bathing suit so I was stuck. :lmao::lmao:

A beautiful Princess tea party. Those marble tables can pack a wallop.
They sure can. :headache:

You would think they would know that 50 EMT's decending on a 4 year old might make the situation worse.
I think there were 4 EMTs and about 4-5 managers... I'm not sure if I wrote that earlier. :confused3 :lmao::lmao:

I wonder if taking the other girls out was part of the plan or was it done early to give you privacy while they evaluated her.
That was part of the plan. The girls take a lap around the GF lobby waving at all the people then head upstairs.

I bet a bump on the head was called in as a head injury and everyone came out of the woodwork just in case.
I never thought of that... that might of happened. :confused3

DSC00660.jpg

WHAT? No pressed coffee? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We should have this option in every day life.
Juliana wore the Cinderella dress her Wish granters brought her the week before we left.

DSC00662.jpg

Absolutely adorable.

Juliana was making friends with a few other girls that were attending the party.

DSC00669.jpg

While all the girls are very pretty, Juliana is simply beautiful.

I love this picture!

DSCN2274.jpg

I hopped over the rope separating the Garden Room and ran over to Melody. Juliana was crying and there was such a commotion. Come to find out Juliana slipped off her seat and hit the side of her head on the marble table. Juliana ended up with an instant knot and Melody asked a manager for an ice pack and told him what had happened. She didn't realize that 1/2 of Disney would be coming to Juliana's aide.

While all this was going on all the other girls had left the Garden Room on their parade, and I think this was making Juliana more upset because she wanted to be with them. The managers and EMTs starting asking us if we needed an ambulance to take Juliana to the hospital. All Melody wanted was an ice pack.... After a few more minutes of questions and declining any medical aide, we had to sign a few releases declining medical care and bringing Juliana to the hospital.

I am so glad she was okay. I tend to think she was disappointed and worried she was missing out on the rest of the fun. But you have to give Disney credit for wanting to be absolutely sure she was okay.

Beautiful Princess Juliana!

DSC00686.jpg

When we arrived at our villa at Give Kids the World, there were 8 or so people standing across the street. They told us that they had just decorated our room and a few others for Christmas. While I was getting the bags out the car, Melody & Juliana went inside the villa. Juliana started SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. All the people across the road head her and started laughing. They all had huge smiles on their faces. I walked in and saw why Juliana was so excited...

How cool is it that they decorated for Christmas for you guys. What a great organization.

Pool girl ready to go....

DSCN2295.jpg

I love the "pool girl ready to go photo". You have your hands full when she gets older (all other comments in red).

Great update! I too did some chilly swimming 2 weeks ago at All Star Sports. You're right, stay in the heated water and you're fine. Me and DH RAN back to our room. Brrrrr

And another great update!

The tea party looks awesome but you had me mighty scared with her accident! Thank god, she wasn't hurt more!

Those photos in the carriage are priceless and I am all with Kathy ....... start saving ......... right NOW!!! :lmao:

great update tim!! love the pics and thats a nice tree!!! what a nice suprise!:thumbsup2

that tea party looked like so much fun
sorry about the owie head and the peanut butter heart you had to have when you saw everyone around them

Ugh I really need to stop reading your report off to check out the tea party now :rolleyes1

Wow, I didn't see that coming. Glad she was alright though. I can see Claire being mad because everyone was leaving her too. I really wish we could do this party, but since time at WDW is limited this time, I don't think we can swing it. How long did it actually last?

I love the holiday decorations too. That place is amazing.
Skip is alway the swimmer with Claire too. LOL!

Julianna looks just like a princess! She is gorgeous! The tea party looks wonderful ..... how is it that Daddy didn't HAVE to join them? I'm so sorry she bumped her head. I bet the crowd surrounding her scared her much more than the bump. Thanks so much for so many pictures. Lhea and I are loving looking at them.

I don't think I have an answer to any of those questions either!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Call a doctor! Or, maybe just stick with the "read my nametag" question. ;)

I usually am able to pawn that off... but not this time. My DW wasn't feeling it.:sad2: She didn't even put on her bathing suit so I was stuck. :lmao::lmao:

That's how they get you. You change, thinking everybody's going to the pool and then you discover that it's just you who will be accompanying the child. Hey, she did her part -- she went to the tea. <places back of hand to forehead>

I am so glad she was okay. I tend to think she was disappointed and worried she was missing out on the rest of the fun. But you have to give Disney credit for wanting to be absolutely sure she was okay.
I know they were covering themselves but all Mel wanted was some ice.

Start saving now, daddy. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Don't remind me. :headache:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
