It's high stress right now, we have meet the teacher today. Also a few entry level conferences have been scheduled. We work from 12:00 / 8:00. I'm going in at 10:00.....![]()

Then he started calling out for the family from Iowa to please come back to their table, he was waiting to meet them!
I love Minnie and Mickey's houses. They crack me up, although I wish Mickey would finally finish his kitchen already....![]()

Wow, it was a tiring evening, we probably had 80 people in the room. I loved the way the board turned out. I found the safari set at Oriental Trading...That's just cute! I like the elephant with the binoculars the best.
I hope your evening with parents goes/went well!
Thanks, I love having Mickey and Minnie in the room!Great Disney bulletin board, thanks for sharing.
We had a full house, and then were mobbed by the parents afterward...How did it go tonight?
Isn't MeMom great? I just love her ideas! Are you posting pictures of your celebrate reading board? So, how was open house tonight?
Your AK bulletin board is very cute! I did my Celebrate Reading! bulletin board during my planning today (from an idea by MeMom). If our schools only knew...![]()
I hear most new teachers only teach for three years then they are through....How many years were you in the classroom?I'm sure he's quite anxious to meet you!OK, catching up finally after vacation and found this comment. I hope he knows this family from Iowa is wating to come have breakfast with him, unfortunately he may be waiting for awhile![]()
I see you are back to work now. Hope all is well! DH goes back tomorrow and the kids start next week. Mom is ready for them to go! I used to dread August when I was teaching, now...not so much(Iguess that's a sign that I wasn't meant for the profession!)
I feel the same way about my houseWe remodeled our kitchen 8 years ago and there is still a missing section of moulding on top of the cabinets (just a 2 foot section, the other 15 feet are there!)

I taught for 8 years. My first year I cried nearly every day before going to school (of course I was pregnant which probably didn't help) This will be my second year out now and I don't really regret the decision to leave except that the job I had this past year was funded by a grant which ran out so I am once again hunting...it sucks but I know I made the right decision. It is a difficult job that does not give enough credit to those who do it so well!
You must have the same contractor as Mickey does....![]()

We were told this year that we lost 60% of our first year teachers! Sixty percent!!!
I believe one reason we lose so many new teachers is they are given the kids with the most problems, before they have the experience to adapt. Also they come in with visions of making learning fun and working with the students and then learn how much paper work is involved. The time my first years that I spent planning fun activities and learning new things were later spent filling out paperwork.
After 30 years of teaching my one regret is that I was not allowed to just teach under the new requirements and standards. My students still met standards because my standards were higher than state standards, but less fun for my students, and their teacher.
