A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Holy updates!

Look at you taking all those light fixture pictures! :goodvibes

Tusker House is really pretty on the inside, must go there someday.

I can't stand line cutters, they are rude and obnoxious. :headache:

Oh my goodness, so much to comment on! Tusker House really looks like a great place for breakfast. I've heard wonderful things about the juice there. Are you a fan? That's funny that you rode EE 3 times. Madeline and George rode it 3 times and she told everyone who would listen for the rest of the day. She was proud!

I think I would love the bird show, but in the summer sometimes the desire to stay out of the blazing heat trumps the desire to see a cool show or parade. Sad, but true.:sad2:

Line cutters who didn't think they'd cut in line? Come on! We encountered the same situation at It's Tough to be a Bug. We were all in line, but when the tunnel widened a woman with her daughter decided that gave them lisence to waltz up in front of us and at least 2 other families! They didn't stop until the line narrowed again.:headache: I just watched them go and shook my head. Must not have known it was a SHOW that we'd all be going into AT THE SAME TIME!

I'm jelous of your Beaches and Cream treat. We just never made it in there, but those chair and table sets are adorable!

I am slightly jealous that you had an owl at Rafiki's -- we had a snake and you know how I feel about that. :sad2:

I researched and found a way for those with snake phobia to get over their fear.....it is a snake massage! :cool1::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::banana:

I am going to suggest it for Wigd and I think you should try it too!

Finally catching up! I can't get over line cutters. Now, how the heck can they NOT know that they just cut in front of someone?
You are so right, how could they not know? They knew... Just the fact that he leaned over and said to her, "they think we cut" was proof for me!

Loved all of your pictures. :thumbsup2 I have never been on EE and if I ever get the nerve to go, I bet I won't ever be able to take pictures while riding!
The front seat always has me shaking, and you will notice that all of my pictures are on the ascent in opposed to the descent. I'm not such a big shot on this ride. I hold on!

Isn't the Jammin' Jungle Parade awesome? I love the music. We have it on CD, and Brooklynn can sing the whole thing and rock along to it.
It seems that we are always on our way out of the park when folks are lining up for the parade. I imagine the heat has got to us. This time however I was determined to see that parade! We loved it! I'm hoping for a repeat performance in December!
I would love to see Miss Brooklynn's Jammin' Jungle Parade performance. I'll bet she is a hoot.
:cutie:

I think the little ice cream cone tables at Beaches & Cream are so cute.
I just love sitting at them enjoying some ice cream, it just makes the moment even more special!

I'd like to have Drew go to Flights of Wonder with me sometime and get some really great shots of the birds that I could show my school kids. They would enjoy that.

Better yet, I'd like to take my school kids to Flights of Wonder, but that 'ain't never gonna happen'!
I'll bet you could get some great shots of those birds, is Drew going with you in October?
I would love to take my school group to Disney too. Any opportunity to get there, I'll jump on it!

What great pictures to start my Sunday morning! I love Animal Kingdom, but we spent very, very little time there this trip. I'm ready to go again, naturally! :woohoo:
I was surprised myself at the pictures from Animal Kingdom, maybe you all can spend a little more time there very soon.

Well I wish you are really great year!! I have one more week of freedom, of course I'm going to on in on Monday (they start handing out keys and I'm going to start putting my room together and putting things away and finding new ways to put up things on the wall LOL!!!!!
Do you enjoy putting your room together? Once I come to grips that it's indeed time to go back to work, I have fun with it! With this shared space, wall space is something I don't have much of.

Loved this update...EE...3 times that is awesome!
I love it and it scares the heck out of me each and every time I ride it!

As a biology teacher I'm ashamed to say I have never seen the Birds of Wonder trip...I really should do that some time!! Thanks for sharing those gorgeous pictures!!!
We had always walked on by in the past too. It like everything else at Disney is awesome! You need to see it this fall because your travel companion in January probably won't want to step one foot inside....

The parade looks amazing I can't wait to finally see it in person this fall!!!!!!
Just find yourself a spot in the shade and enjoy!

A relaxing evening at the resort...that sounds amazing!!!!
That's the beauty of a two week trip, you feel like you can take time to relax.

Wow! You've been an updating machine! Love all your pictures. The more pictures I see of Rafiki's the more I wish we'd done that. Oh well...next time! Also want to see Flights of Wonder.
Isn't just saying next time the best feeling? We had gone back to Rafiki's a few years ago but didn't hang around for long. The have some really interesting things to see in there. We enjoyed Flights of Wonder too! I'm not sure that I would put it on a must do list for a first time guest but it was a very good show!

Line cutters.  We had some young people (late teens/early 20's maybe?) try to do the exact same thing white t-shirt guy did to ya'll. I'm standing there talking to the family and just checking things out when I notice all of a sudden there's a guy standing beside me on the right. Uh...I don't think so bucko! I edged him out.  I think he eventually did get by me but I effectively blocked the rest of his friends from joining him so he had to wait.
[
Isn't it funny how they just come up next to like they are in your party and the next thing you know they are in front of you? I'm glad you were able to foil there little scheme!Actually white t-shirt guy was the one we were originally behind then blue t-shirt guy and green t-shirt girl crowded in front of us....

Looks like y'all had a great day at AK. I was scared just looking at pictures of EE! We're skipping AK in October. I know the kids would love it, but they've never been to Epcot so we're substituting it in instead. I guess there's always more to do next time! It's hard to get there for more than 5 days, but it's really not enough time to get everything in either!
You all will fall in love with Epcot! I just love walking through future world and listening to the music! We are typically 5 day goers as well. With DVC it's easier on the points to book a Sunday through Thursday stay, and it's really hard to get everything in. For the prices we pay for flights we need to look at doing a split stay at a value or moderate the weekend before...

I start school tomorrow for a week of inservice days. According to the schedule my new principal sent, we get to spend 3 of those days working in our rooms. If it works out that way, that's amazing! I think maybe that's a perk of getting a principal who's been in the classroom recently (he's only been out of the classroom for 3 years). My kids start on the 17th (full week start for us too). We used to always have a Thursday start and I liked that so much better! The first week/full week is killer!!
I love it that your new principal is fairly fresh from the classroom, that makes a huge difference on getting those times to work in your rooms. Our official day back in Wednesday. Tuesday is a flex day so if we've been in working already we don't have to officially have to be there if we have cleared it with our principal prior.

I want to see pictures of your new classroom space. That would be completely intimidating to me! I hope you love it!
I'll take some as soon as we get our little messes cleaned up. It seems at this point I'm making new ones daily!

MeMom- what CD has the Jammin Jungle Music?

Anita, I did not realize the change in schools was not an even change... changing demographics is even more interesting I think than Grade levels IMO.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I can't believe how much you updated after I went to bed last night!
I am really trying to get this fun finished before school starts, it's not going to happen but I'm still trying....

I am slightly jealous that you had an owl at Rafiki's -- we had a snake and you know how I feel about that. :sad2:
I loved that cute little owl, Marc on the other hand loves snakes.:confused3

We still haven't done Flights of Wonder but it looks so neat! I want to do it on the next trip.
It's really interesting, you guys will enjoy it.:goodvibes

I never cease to be amazed at the nerve of line cutters! I love that you take their pictures!
Not only did I take their picture, we even had words, when he told her that we thought they were cutting, I, in my best teacher voice told him that since we had been behind the fellow in the white shirt the whole time we had been in line, and the fact that they were now behind him and in front of us indicated that they had indeed cut. My gosh, I sound like a 2nd grader....:rotfl2:

Love your Mickey Fit Flops and the henna and polka dot toe nails looked really cute!!!! Oh my goodness, Rose and Crown looked so yummy!! And "score" on the seat for illuminations!!!:goodvibes Do you just pay an extra fee to keep the glass? Do you know if you can do this at the pub also? TIA.
Lol, thanks for the feet compliments, I am really enjoying my fit flops! We loved R&C and the glass comes with the drink. I would be surprised if it were any difference at the pub, does anyone know the answer to this?

Too cool that Baylor got given the basket ball! Nice on your wallet too!!!;)
He was very pleased, and actually we were too until I started to pack up to go home...

Sheesh, I hate "gum bum" and "gum shoe" too!! ick!! Glad you got it out of your pants!:thumbsup2
That darn gum always seems to find me and I'm not even a chewer.:sad2:

Rachel and I had a talk and our next DVC purchase (in about 5 years) will be a re-sale Beach Club add on. We hope to afford it by then anyway.
I get emails from the timeshare store everyday and am really wishing for a beach club add on as well. There have been some great ones on the market but it's not in the budget right now.

Yummm the candy in Germany looked outstanding. Not sure why I haven't gotten any there yet?
Are you a chocolate lover? If so I would highly recommend the Milka Creme bar......heavenly, so smooth....:cloud9:

Can't wait to eat at TH for breakfast and thank you for posting the parade pictures!!!
Tusker House for breakfast is fantastic and we had fun watching and taking pictures of the parade!

Have fun tomorrow when your exchange student arrives!! How long will he be there? Is he going on your December trip with you?
Max will be here for 10 months, and yes he will be going with us in December. I'm hoping to get Biergarten on Christmas Eve, I think he would like that.:goodvibes

Holy updates!

Look at you taking all those light fixture pictures! :goodvibes

Tusker House is really pretty on the inside, must go there someday.

I can't stand line cutters, they are rude and obnoxious. :headache:
LL you have opened up a whole new world for me with the light fixtures!
Tusker House is yummy and so much fun to see!
Those line cutters felt entitled to be where they were, I just don't get it. A line is a line...

We love it all at Tusker House, especially the juice! 3 EE rides are fantastic and Madeline had every right to be proud!
I think I would love the bird show, but in the summer sometimes the desire to stay out of the blazing heat trumps the desire to see a cool show or parade. Sad, but true.:sad2:
The show is in the shade so it really isn't terribly hot in there, you need to go to that bird show!

Oh they knew alright. It would have been great if your line cutters got really bad seats though!

I'm jelous of your Beaches and Cream treat. We just never made it in there, but those chair and table sets are adorable!
There is always next time. We were there for 2 weeks and didn't get it all done..... so my list starts for next time.

I researched and found a way for those with snake phobia to get over their fear.....it is a snake massage! :cool1::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::banana:

I am going to suggest it for Wigd and I think you should try it too!

Yikes, why must you do these things?!!?

MeMom- what CD has the Jammin Jungle Music?

Anita, I did not realize the change in schools was not an even change... changing demographics is even more interesting I think than Grade levels IMO.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Laura, it's an entirely different mind set. There is no more me or mine. We plan it all together. I think we have a total of 55 students and what we do for one home room we do for all....
I think I'm going to like it though!:goodvibes
Have a great Sunday too! Did you ever go to bed last night?

I researched and found a way for those with snake phobia to get over their fear.....it is a snake massage! :cool1::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::banana:

snake_massage_2sfw.jpg

I am going to suggest it for Wigd and I think you should try it too!

BROTHER..........NO..........JUST........NOOOOOOOOOO!! I hate to jump back over the fence and leave you hanging out to dry all by your lonesome........but........NOOOOOOO SNAKES!!!!!! Sorry!!!

Ladies, he's all yours!!!! popcorn::

WOW, you have been burning the midnight oil with that massive update!! I loved what LL said, Holy Update!! Too Funny!!!

Anita all your pictures are great......even the bumpy ride on the safari allowed for some great pictures!!!!

I will have to admit that all the pictures from "inside" all those TS places are starting to work on me!!! I would have never known how nice they looked if you hadn't taken the time to snap all those pictures!! I also have to admit, since we mastered FP, that we didn't spend much time in the que looking around, nothing like a first trip-commando style!!! :lmao: So, I have appreciated your attention to detail, allowing me to see all the things we ran past!! :thumbsup2

I will also state for the record that Shocker should be commended for working so hard to make his plates so pretty this trip. I am sure that he probably didn't want that donut either, but was working (just as Baylor did) to make his plate balanced and even attempting to make hidden Mickey's out of the food on there!! Unlike somebody else's at the table with them??? :rolleyes1

I loved Flame Tree and the picture brought a smile to my face!! I just love the BD "sign"!! I am going to start throwing it out, everytime somebody ask me, "and what's your name?" I should be able to get to use it frequently with the start of school!! Since, I am one of those that the school apparently has on speed dial. The principal has already called and asked me to be there the first day to "help"!! Nothing like FREE labor!!! ;)

I am over EXCITED that the pixie dust seems to be flying this trip!! I mean, Baylor given the basketballs and then WINS shooting one too!!! How awesome is that??? :wizard:

Then SCORE with front seats on both Dinosaur and EE!!! Sharing the Magic as you do, should bring some Magic your way too and it sounds like there was some around for you as well!! Yippee and Hooray!!!

Oh, the line cutter........well in all the Magic around Disney there has to be some people that just don't get it!!! It sounds a lot like our little episode at the Tiki Room!! We also exchanged words and my final shot, was What goes around comes around!! There also was a man in his group that I think was somewhat embarrassed with his "shameful" leader and I am sure that somewhere along the line they all paid the price for following "him"........just as it did with the couple that ended up in front of you!!! I don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate of others and think that they are the only breathing, living, individuals that live on this planet?? :sad2: It really is sad and makes you wonder how they live their daily lives, if that is how they act on "vacation"?? It also makes one question, where are the KRISTEN's of Disney when they are REALLY needed????

Thanks for the great pictures and the HUGE update!! I don't know why you are rushing so to finish?? :rotfl2::lmao: I mean, I can remember the days of when you would want to drag it out foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr??? Ah, those good old days, when we had to beg and beg for an update!! :rolleyes1

I am a lurker who has been loving your report so far!!:) You are at a point in your report where I have an oppportunity to comment on something that has bothered me at WDW. I too HATE line cutters - but I am talking about those who purposly line cut. What we experienced a couple or three times on our last trip down in April was different and would like your opinion on. The first time was in the wait que at Haunted Mansion. You know how they herd you into the wait que at one point and the CM's are in the back saying "Move forward everyone, please move forward". Well we did...and there was lots of space in front and people did't seem to be moving and the CM's kept pushing from the back encouraging people to move so some us started to move forward and then those that we all "passed" started freaking out about line cutters!!!:confused3 My kids were upset and confused and I said to them not to worry about it we are just doing what we are told to do but these others still kept muttering and mumbling but they were the ones not moving up.:sad2: It got ugly between a few people. The same thing happended in the Oh Canada queing room and then when we were in the line at Pirates of the Carribean where the line widens, we saw and heard it happening again in front of us to a poor unsuspecting family who were just doing as the CM's were requesting. So my question is......what do you all do in this situation??? Sorry for the hijack but this has really bothered me since we came home and I often wonder how others would handle it.
Looking forward to more of your hilarious adventures and manpris!:yay:

WOW, you have been burning the midnight oil with that massive update!! I loved what LL said, Holy Update!! Too Funny!!!
She had me cracking up too with her "Holy Update" I think I was up so late because my computer crashed just as I was getting ready to post and I had to redo the Rafiki's Planet Watch part....:rolleyes1

Anita all your pictures are great......even the bumpy ride on the safari allowed for some great pictures!!!!
Thanks, I had taken so many more but those were the only decent ones.

I will have to admit that all the pictures from "inside" all those TS places are starting to work on me!!!
Mission accomplished!:thumbsup2
I would have never known how nice they looked if you hadn't taken the time to snap all those pictures!! I also have to admit, since we mastered FP, that we didn't spend much time in the que looking around, nothing like a first trip-commando style!!! :lmao: So, I have appreciated your attention to detail, allowing me to see all the things we ran past!! :thumbsup2
It's really funny how your photography style changes when you know you will be sharing your trip with DIS friends! I'm glad the you are enjoying the pictures!

:rolleyes1
Gosh, were mine that bad.....:sad1: He did a very nice job arranging his plates and you are right to commend his efforts. Oh, he has just admitted not even trying so forget the compliment!

I loved Flame Tree and the picture brought a smile to my face!! I just love the BD "sign"!! I am going to start throwing it out, everytime somebody ask me, "and what's your name?" I should be able to get to use it frequently with the start of school!!
Have you been practicing, that sign is hard to make!
Since, I am one of those that the school apparently has on speed dial. The principal has already called and asked me to be there the first day to "help"!! Nothing like FREE labor!!! ;)
We love parents like you! Every school needs them, they are lucky to have you! We have a parent that wears a Tiger costume and greets kids and parents on the first day.

I am over EXCITED that the pixie dust seems to be flying this trip!! I mean, Baylor given the basketballs and then WINS shooting one too!!! How awesome is that??? :wizard:
I'm just glad he didn't win another basketball!

Oh, the line cutter........well in all the Magic around Disney there has to be some people that just don't get it!!!
Sometimes I think that they just like to see what they can get away with. Thinking of nobody but themselves.
I don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate of others and think that they are the only breathing, living, individuals that live on this planet?? :sad2: It really is sad and makes you wonder how they live their daily lives, if that is how they act on "vacation"?? They must think that the rules don't apply to them. Kristen is never around when you really need her. She is over at Soarin' bothering nice people!

Thanks for the great pictures and the HUGE update!! I don't know why you are rushing so to finish?? :rotfl2::lmao: I mean, I can remember the days of when you would want to drag it out foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr??? The next one is going to be really long I fear, I'm hoping to have it done before Wednesday!

Thanks so much for the comment! I love it when lurkers come out of hiding and say hi!
We do just the same as you. When a CM asks us to move in, they are only trying to accommodate more guests. Anyone thinking that you are cutting line at that point must be a first timer and doesn't understand. I chalk so much of that up to people on their first trip and trying to get the most bang for their buck. It can be annoying to have those remarks made about you but perhaps they should be following directions then they could have moved on in to what they perceived to be the front of the line...

Sugar1967, I agree with Wigd., your incident is totally different than when folks either attempt to sneak by you, or just flat out "think" it's OK to pass by you in the lines knowing that it is only because they want to cut. However, when the CM's are requesting for you to move to the end of the row (in a show) or get closer to the doors in a que, they are merely attempting to as Wigd. said accomodate additional guest. I agree with her and either "they" have issues and think they are entitled to be wherever they are and everybody else should just ignore the request of the CM's so they can be there or they don't understand English and just don't get that the request to move in closer is from a Disney CAST MEMBER and should be done!!! Either way, they are in the WRONG in that situation and I also would do as you did, after asking them if they are going to move forward as was requested by the CM. I mean it could be that they didn't hear the request, so, it probably would be nice to offer them the chance to move forward or to slide down the row to the end, BEFORE climbing over them as was requested!! :rotfl2: Of course, if they chose to stand there and not move forward after I asked them if they were going to move forward like the CM requested, then I would have no problem at all in walking around them!! I am such a rule follower and when somebody else doesn't follow them I admit it makes me mad!!

Right on, Brother!

YIPPEE.....you found my SOAP BOX......I had truly wondered where it had disappeared too?? I'll take a "right on, Brother", BUT I would have much preferred an "AMEN, Preach it, Brother, Preach it!!!!" I'm just glad I didn't break a sweat with that post.......though, I will admit I almost worked myself up into one!!:rotfl:

Wigd:

Your recent updates are so entertaining. I can't believe those EE photos.....simply amazing. Looks like I am going to have to try taking some pictures on EE. And how the heck did you guys get the front seat?.....I really want to try the front seat.

Hey shocker....those snake pics are a little over the top. I didn't even like watching snakes on a plane. I can't imagine actually enduring a snake massage!

Sometimes people need to be made aware that others are noticing their lack of manners! :thumbsup2

Shocker, I can't even comment on the snake pics. I scrolled over them just as fast I could. Shudder. Shudder.

So true, I have never thought about asking them if they want to move on in. I just assume they can hear as well as I can....:confused3

Thanks Mary Ellen, I was happy with those pictures too! All you have to do to get the front seat is to ask the CM when they let you in and assign you a row. They will have you stand out one turn they you are up. It's a great ride up there!
Hey shocker....those snake pics are a little over the top. I didn't even like watching snakes on a plane. I can't imagine actually enduring a snake massage!
The first time I ever saw Shocker he had a snake draped over his shoulders...

Sometimes people need to be made aware that others are noticing their lack of manners! :thumbsup2
I agree, no need to be nasty but just enough to let then know their actions were noticed.

Shocker, I can't even comment on the snake pics. I scrolled over them just as fast I could. Shudder. Shudder.
I realize that snakes are useful creatures but lets let them stay in the wild and out of the spas...;)

So glad to see that I am not crazy:rotfl2: I too assume that everyone is listening and therefore just continue to follow the fules. But these people definately did understand English - the spoke it LOUD and CLEAR:sad2:
So sad in such a HAPPY place.

Shocker, I love, love, love your pictures. :worship: Where do you find them all?

Hmph Your countdown's should say
"____ days till I visit Bean at the world!"
Love the update and NO to the snake massage!:D

I find most of the sad rude behavior at parades, not so much in lines though...
