A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

After a few months of summer, I bet you aren't the only parent saying that!
I have been having the same thoughts about some time away from my son, but then I remember that I'm a teacher so that means back to work for me!

It was really neat running into you on our first morning at Disney! :goodvibes We try to appear pretty normal...:rotfl2:
When I think about the fact that we didn't lay eyes on you guys the rest of the day it was a bit of Disney magic that I saw you first thing in the morning!

Ah, this post made me wish I was headed to Tusker House for breakfast tomorrow! It really is just so delicious!!!
Me too, it's a wonderful breakfast. I'm so glad that Chelsea left us some bacon....

He he! Too funny that you took a picture of other people's ride photo by mistake!
They had some great hand gestures and hiding going on!:rotfl2:

Love the photo of all the backpacks on Everest!
One last glance before I had the fasted EE yet!:scared1:

We were in EPCOT on the 6th too! In fact I think I saw one of my kids spit their gum out on a railing between... No just kidding (about the gum) but we were in EPCOT on the same day.

1900 Park fare and O'hana's both look delish! both are on my list of places to try.

Can't wait to hear more.

Warning birds are a plenty on the first part of this update!

The show started with this parrot greeting us!

The show involved some birds in flight but I don't think I got a single picture of any of that action. We did however see some really cool birds
.

The Bald Eagle was beautiful!

Oh I did get an action shot, watch your heads incoming birds!

I love owls, they are just so cool!

After the bird show we went out and found a spot for the parade. We were next to a family with a stroller. We sat down and gave them a little room. Well I should know better, just about time for the parade a woman came up and told her daughter to squeeze in. The poor family with the stroller ended up scooting behind the girl who squeezed in oblivious to what she had done.:headache: I'm not posting her picture, but here is her mother sitting back on the wall after ruining the early seats for the family next to us....

The parade was a first for us and we enjoyed it. Well, except for the guy that was totally invading my space by trying to reach from behind me to put his video camera in front of my face.....
:rolleyes1

Here's Mickey's Jungle Jammin Parade!

I'm all caught up finally! I love the fit flops! I didn't know we could get a DVC discount at WOD. It seems like every time we ask for the discount they are only giving it for AP, so we just quit asking. I'll have to remember it next time.

I love Tusker House! It used to be my favorite CS. I haven't been since it has changed - looks great! Looks like you liked EE - the Yehti disappeared when we were there - we must be scarier!:goodvibes How fun you got to meet "Hey Jackie!" I'm really enjoying your report - just haven't been able to keep up! Hope you and Baylor have a great school year!

More Jammin!

After the parade we decided to use more fast passes for EE plus the ones we had from an earlier day when it was down. So we set off for Asia.

Up next: Line cutting 101

Love the AK fun. Daisy... that would make the meal so great to see her. Love all the EE and Rafki's area pics.

Hi Tammie! I'm glad you are caught up, sometimes it can be quite a chore to do when we fall behind, You need to use you discount at WOD we ask everywhere too and find out that a lot of places don't take it but some do! Isn't Tusker House yummy?
I'm glad you are reading along and enjoying our trip! I hope to get this report finished before we officially start but I have like 3 or 4 more days to write, so I'm not thinking it's going to happen but I will be close. The updates at that point will probably one occur on weekends...
Thanks for the great school year wishes!

Laura, you are up burning the midnight oil! When do you go back to school? I feel like that's been all I've done this week, work in the classroom...

I tried to see if you were on FB...
I worked at our church festival 10-12:15. Walked home to find Luke rocking with DH, are you kidding me. he makes a peep and dad saves him, and in turn he just fell asleep. Secondly I have had no DIS time the past few days.... and since I slept like crud last night, why sleep tonight...

I have nine free days until our teacher workday.... and I am not going in this week. I have to talk to my partner and see what she gets done before I go back...

When we got back to EE the fast pass line was insanely long, but we got in any way, we talked Baylor into going through the que with us. It was kind of strange, because we were behind this this big guy with the white t-shirt on and his family. Then the next thing I knew, these people were next to us. I guess they didn't understand the way a line works. So they just kept walking along with us, then just started to move in, in front of us. I was ticked. How very nervy. I made a comment and I heard him tell his girlfriend that the people behind us think we cut in line. HELLO! I pointed out to them that we had been behind the people in front of them and now they were in front of us..... Needless to say they just stayed in line, I think the girlfriend was embarrassed. Here are our line cutters....

We got to ride EE three times this day and it was fun every time. We only got the front car the first time but that was OK, it's a little intense up there!

We headed back to Beach Club and had burgers out by pool then ice cream from Beaches and Creme.

271.jpg

Marc and Baylor swam in the quiet pool, while Marc was visiting the restroom Baylor wandered off looking for him. We spent a few minutes looking for him but he showed up soon. While they swam I did some laundry. We spent a quiet evening at the Beach Club and headed to bed early. It had been a full day.

Up next a very full epcot day.

We report back next Wednesday, then we have students on Monday, I don't think I like a full first week with kids, we usually do a Wednesday first day.

Our workdays are a Friday and Monday, nothing on Tuesday (I think they assume they will get us to work that day--- but I try to soak up one last fun day,but Hannah will be at school- boo). The kids start on Wednesday, thankfully not a full first week.

I think my team mates have lots of plans for that first week, we aren't even starting our first story that week or doing any real math. We do it all together since we are in an open room. As soon as we get it all cleaned up I'm going to post some pictures of this unique space. We have met every morning at 8 this past week with the exception of Thursday. This school meets standard of excellence every year so I'm in for a big change from the title school I came from.

Finally catching up! I can't get over line cutters. Now, how the heck can they NOT know that they just cut in front of someone? :confused3

Loved all of your pictures. :thumbsup2 I have never been on EE and if I ever get the nerve to go, I bet I won't ever be able to take pictures while riding!

Isn't the Jammin' Jungle Parade awesome? I love the music. We have it on CD, and Brooklynn can sing the whole thing and rock along to it.

I think the little ice cream cone tables at Beaches & Cream are so cute.

I'd like to have Drew go to Flights of Wonder with me sometime and get some really great shots of the birds that I could show my school kids. They would enjoy that.

Better yet, I'd like to take my school kids to Flights of Wonder, but that 'ain't never gonna happen'!

What great pictures to start my Sunday morning! I love Animal Kingdom, but we spent very, very little time there this trip. I'm ready to go again, naturally! :woohoo:

Well I wish you are really great year!! I have one more week of freedom, of course I'm going to on in on Monday (they start handing out keys and I'm going to start putting my room together and putting things away and finding new ways to put up things on the wall LOL!!!!!

Loved this update...EE...3 times that is awesome!

As a biology teacher I'm ashamed to say I have never seen the Birds of Wonder trip...I really should do that some time!! Thanks for sharing those gorgeous pictures!!!

The parade looks amazing I can't wait to finally see it in person this fall!!!!!!

A relaxing evening at the resort...that sounds amazing!!!!

Wow! You've been an updating machine! Love all your pictures. The more pictures I see of Rafiki's the more I wish we'd done that. Oh well...next time! Also want to see Flights of Wonder.

Line cutters.  We had some young people (late teens/early 20's maybe?) try to do the exact same thing white t-shirt guy did to ya'll. I'm standing there talking to the family and just checking things out when I notice all of a sudden there's a guy standing beside me on the right. Uh...I don't think so bucko! I edged him out.  I think he eventually did get by me but I effectively blocked the rest of his friends from joining him so he had to wait.

Looks like y'all had a great day at AK. I was scared just looking at pictures of EE! We're skipping AK in October. I know the kids would love it, but they've never been to Epcot so we're substituting it in instead. I guess there's always more to do next time! It's hard to get there for more than 5 days, but it's really not enough time to get everything in either!

I start school tomorrow for a week of inservice days. According to the schedule my new principal sent, we get to spend 3 of those days working in our rooms. If it works out that way, that's amazing! I think maybe that's a perk of getting a principal who's been in the classroom recently (he's only been out of the classroom for 3 years). My kids start on the 17th (full week start for us too). We used to always have a Thursday start and I liked that so much better! The first week/full week is killer!!

I want to see pictures of your new classroom space. That would be completely intimidating to me! I hope you love it!

I can't believe how much you updated after I went to bed last night!

I am slightly jealous that you had an owl at Rafiki's -- we had a snake and you know how I feel about that. :sad2:

We still haven't done Flights of Wonder but it looks so neat! I want to do it on the next trip.

I never cease to be amazed at the nerve of line cutters! I love that you take their pictures!

Love your Mickey Fit Flops and the henna and polka dot toe nails looked really cute!!!! Oh my goodness, Rose and Crown looked so yummy!! And "score" on the seat for illuminations!!!:goodvibes Do you just pay an extra fee to keep the glass? Do you know if you can do this at the pub also? TIA.

Too cool that Baylor got given the basket ball! Nice on your wallet too!!!;)

Sheesh, I hate "gum bum" and "gum shoe" too!! ick!! Glad you got it out of your pants!:thumbsup2

Rachel and I had a talk and our next DVC purchase (in about 5 years) will be a re-sale Beach Club add on. We hope to afford it by then anyway.

Yummm the candy in Germany looked outstanding. Not sure why I haven't gotten any there yet?

I down and one left to sneak around while eating it!

You must be referring to this... :cutie:

This is SO cute!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to eat at TH for breakfast and thank you for posting the parade pictures!!!

Have fun tomorrow when your exchange student arrives!! How long will he be there? Is he going on your December trip with you?
