A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Sorry I've missed out on all the craziness around here this week. I'll catch back up in about ten days. We've got our jelly rings packed and we're ready to go...I mean glow! :)

The other night we put some pajama pants on Henry and found they were just a bit too short. I started laughing and squeeked out "He's wearing manpri's!" to Joe, who was completely confused...so I explained the whole deal and he was laughing right along with me. So, of course, we had to take a picture!

He's wearing his bucket hat, all ready for the parks!

I had missed a lot on your report. I am caught up now. Your report is very entertaining. I love the old swimming pictures. It looks like you were doing a fine job with the cow bell.
Thanks! I'm glad you are all caught up. I can't take credit for those swimming pictures but I enjoyed them as well...
Well, I did try really hard to keep time with the music while playing that cowbell!

CP, please join us - we have soo much fun!:rotfl:
We'll get her to come, but she will need to get some sleep first...
Welcome home!!!! Yep, as usual I am behind.;) Can't wait to hear about Vegas. Last time I was there was about 2 years ago, with a toddler. I didn't even gamble, but found every kid friendly thing to do in Las Vegas. Oh, and discovered Moose Munch at Harry and David outlet! Yummmm!!!
Hey, I wish I had known about the Moose Munch.... I did stop at Ethel's Chocolate Lounge though, yum!
I need to get an update ready! Maybe Vegas, maybe Disney, it all depends on what pictures I have ready.

MeMom, my gosh, you've been to camp and now leaving for Disney! I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to read about all of your adventures and see all the adorable pictures of the glowing girls!

Thanks ladies! :goodvibes I don't mean this in a derogatory way or anything, but with the hat and the whole getup, Joe and I thought he looked like a rice patty farmer. :lmao: Gotta keep those pants a bit higher so they don't get wet! ;)

Oh my gosh, I need to get a move on this trip report! School is starting soon and I'm not even half way through this trip report...:rolleyes1

When I left you all I was in "honkey tonk" bliss, and the guys were sweating, it was getting really hot. The band finished and we made our way to 50's Primetime for lunch. A first for us!
We checked in and made our way into the living room...
Here's Baylor watching Walt dedicate Disneyland!

337.jpg

338.jpg

Baylor the menace watching cousin Dennis...

339.jpg

341.jpg

Now what about hats?

342.jpg

Here came cousin Debbie and they were in some serious trouble. NO HATS ON THE TABLE!

340.jpg

It seems that texting at the table is also a no-no, Debbie told me to put that thing away, so I did...
Since I can't sit still I grabbed the View Master to check out the Dessert menu.

345.jpg

Baylor was a little too happy to get his chocolate malt...

346.jpg

Along with his malt Baylor had Cousin Liz's Golden Fried Chicken, he really liked it and I just had to have a taste, it was delish!

347.jpg

Marc had Cousin Eric's Char-grilled Chicken Sandwich

348.jpg

I had Mom's Old-Fashioned Pot Roast. It was super yummy, pretty much the same as Liberty Tree, but I love it!

349.jpg

Baylor was still working on his malt so Marc and I shared the apple cobbler.

350.jpg

Even we seemed to get in a bit of trouble we had lots of fun and a great meal at 50's Primetime!

After lunch we were ready to use our fast passes for Star Tours, on our way to the dump shop I saw these.

352.jpg

Baylor made a light saber.

353.jpg

On our way out he decided to beat up on Bo a little more (sorry Chelsea). I'm not sure what was stronger, the power of the Coke or the "force"...:confused3

353.jpg

We headed back to the Beach Club to take a break from the heat, Baylor and Marc headed down to the pool and I took a nap.
When the guys finished swimming, I went out on the balcony and heard these guys performing so we walked over for a better look. How fun to be so close to World Showcase!
:goodvibes

355.jpg

After listening to the British Invasion we walked over to use our fast passes from the previous day at Soarin'. I went into the restroom and couldn't believe my ears. Oh my, that didn't sound good....:rotfl2:
I heard the most beautiful singing! It was the mousekeeper cleaning the restroom. The crowd in the restroom was growing because we were all listening to her. She said as soon as she finished she would come out and sing for us.

She did not disappoint. A little girl requested a song from The Little Mermaid, she sang it and it was lovely! Here is our Disney Princess to be. What do you think guys, Cinderella? Honestly she was so sweet and humble!princess:

361.jpg

Up next: How old are those fast passes?!?

So, can you use day old fast passes? We had heard it both ways but when we walked up and handed them to the CM at Soarin' she totally shot us down. Not only did we not get on the ride, she was very condescending to us. She took them from Marc and said "These are MINE now" not nice, very ugly in fact... Thanks so much CM Kristen!

The more I thought about it the more upset I got. This is not the way to treat people. We really are the nice guys. So off we marched to guest relations. I explained why we had day old fast passes to Soarin' and Test Track, and we really weren't upset that we couldn't ride but it was the un-magical way we were treated by the CM. You know I don't think that we should have any special treatment because we are DVC and AP holders but the fact is we have locked ourselves into vacations at Disney because they have such a wonderful reputation for magical experiences. We were disappointed to say the least. So in the Disney way we were given fast passes to Soarin' and Test Track, plus Mickey Bars....
All I really wanted to do was vent and maybe get that snotty CM in a little trouble.
We headed back to Soarin' presented KRISTEN with our new and improved fast passes and Soared over California! (I think she alerted everyone to the trouble makers on board)
.:laughing::confused:

Next we rode Test Track then headed back to Beach Club, we forgot to stop for our Mickey Bars.... but I saw these!

362.jpg

We got back over to the Beach Club and decided to walk over to the Boardwalk and try to get some dinner. We had no ADR. We were able to get right in to Big River Grille and Brewing Company!

I started off with a cup of Beer Cheese Soup.

365.jpg

Marc and I shared the meatloaf, it was very good.

366.jpg

Baylor had a burger.

368.jpg

Since it was a walk-up we were thinking of our friend. Sorry about the dirty dish...

369.jpg

We walked back to the Beach Club and I snapped a few pics, it's sooo pretty at night!

371.jpg

Marc tried to take a picture of me on our balcony, I am just a shadow.

372.jpg

It was getting late, we were tired, so got ready for bed and checked the DIS chat room to see if any of our friends were hanging around and they were! So we chatted for a bit then off to bed.

Up next: SAB and a DIS-meet by the pool!

Prime Time Cafe sounds fun and the food looks really yummy. A definite future must try. And Baylor with his light saber-give that boy his props. Those things are not easy to put together! I'm glad you reported Miss Kristen and happy you were compensated fairly for your unmagical treatment. Love the BC at night.:cloud9:

Prime Time was great, it's on the must do again list for us! The CM next to him in the picture was so much help, Baylor just picked the pieces and his personal assistant put it all together for him.
Yea, that deal with Kristen, if I hadn't seen so many guests breaking rules, crowding in at parades and being otherwise very rude right in front of CMs and not having a word said to them it wouldn't have bothered me as much. I feel that we a more thoughtful guests and couldn't believe her attitude...:sad2:
Isn't the Beach Club pretty at night?

Moving right along to day 6.
Today we were planning a Storm Along Bay DISmeet! NDM#1 and family were staying at the Beach Club too and this meet had been in the works for nearly 6 months.
No early morning for us...
We got up and had a quick breakfast in the room, well, I did go down and grab a parfait.

I gave Jenny a call to see where in the Villa's they were and were very pleased to find out that she, Joel and the kids were just down the hall. She said that she would run down and say hello before heading down to swim.
It was great to see her in person, I never really feel like I'm meeting my DIS friends for the first time, since we had "talked" so much online!
We got ready for our pool time then headed down to meet up with them. I took a few pictures of SAB before they arrived.

Here's Baylor crawling along on the sand bottom.

373.jpg

374.jpg

375.jpg

I can't believe that I'm posting these but in all fairness to everyone that is in the background of my pictures I will show myself in the pool in a swimming suit....

377.jpg

Getting ready to shove a child's head underwater.... Don't you just love the kids in the back playing on the sandbar?

378.jpg

Our friends arrived so here's Jenny and I! With Baylor and Joel in the back getting acquainted.

379.jpg

Here are all the kids!

381.jpg

The sun was bright so Jenny's youngest tried to hold her eyes open for a picture...:rotfl2:

382.jpg

The kids had a blast sharing the pool noodles we had brought from home, then the boys decided that they wanted to head to the slide. So we all went to watch them go down a few times, Jenny and I sat and visited, it was nice.
They headed back up to their villa for lunch and we stayed for lunch at Hurricane Hannah's. We had plans to meet up later...

We all had the burgers!

384.jpg

I had a Mickey Bar for dessert.

385.jpg

We hung out and all did the slide, I can't say enough how much I love SAB. I think I've been in our pool here at home twice this summer but could have swam there everyday!

After our swim we went back and got dressed to try and make it over to "Welcome Home Wednesdays" at the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. It was raining, my flip flops were slick but I had my umbrella and rain jacket so off we went.....
Got there and due to technical difficulties it was canceled but we all got some nifty DVC tote bags and popcorn before heading back. We had a ressie in Canada to get to. Jenny and Joel were there so we planned to meet up later, they were having dinner at Yachtsman and leaving the kids in the Sandcastle Club, Baylor was going to dinner with us but wanted to meet the kids at Sandcastle after he got his steak....

Here's Baylor posing by some of the pretty sand art at Beach Club.

386.jpg

Notice what he's wearing?[/B

We walked through the IG and were in the UK immediately, and I spotted these.

389.jpg

Walking up to Le Cellier...

390.jpg

Prettiness of Canada...
391.jpg

A hidden Mickey...

393.jpg

In no time the food started arriving, we had the bread of course.[/B

394.jpg

Marc had the Spicy Chicken and Chipolte Sausage, yum!

395.jpg

I had the Cheddar Cheese soup which is perfect for dipping with the pretzel bread! Major yummo!

396.jpg

More food in the next post.

Marc had the New York Strip Steak.

397.jpg

I had the Mushroom Filet with the mushroom risotto. MMMMMMM!

399.jpg

Baylor had the steak off of the childrens menu, medium rare.... dropped his fries on the floor while attempting to cut his steak so they brought him more.

398.jpg

401.jpg

I was the winner of the last cube standing contest..... again.
:rolleyes1

402.jpg

Marc and I shared the Moose and Baylor had the sundae.

405.jpg

407.jpg

Spied a cute bunny as we left Canada.

409.jpg

As we headed back to our villa, Baylor stopped to make a phone call.

412.jpg

I attempted an artistic picture...

414.jpg

Then another of the guys at the phone booth.

413.jpg

We made our way back to the Beach Club to drop Baylor off at the Sandcastle Club, Marc and I had a quiet evening planned that included a stroll back to WS and a viewing of Illuminations....

Up next: A new DIS-friend!

Wow Wigd.....

You are an updating machine! DHS sounds like so much fun. But I really love your time at SAB. I want to go there soooo bad! It looks like such a great time!

And....way to go on the FP's for Soarin and TT. I tried to use day old FP's once and got the same reaction from the CM. Well, maybe not as bad. At least they let me keep my old FP's. :rotfl:

How great it is that your son isn't afraid to do something without you. Glad you and Marc were able to spend some alone time together.
How fun that you could have a DIS meet and enjoy the pool. THat is what I want to be able to do next time. Just have some down time at the pool to relax.
We love 50's PrimeTime too. I recommended that to my sister and they are eating there in Sept. I hope they like it as much as we do.

Someone is making up for the lost updating time while they were in Vegas...:rolleyes1

Okay, now I have to remember everything I wanted to comment on --

Great lunch at 50's -- love how Debbie fussed at y'all for hats and texting.

Poor Bo -- I hope he wasn't too beat up in the lightsaber fight.

So cool about the CM singing, but CM Kristen should have been nicer. :( I am glad Guest Services was so nice to you. Did you ever remember to get your Mickey bars?

The SAB pictures are super cute, and I was cracking up over your sign for BD.

He he he about you shoving Baylor's head underwater, and Marc holding the phone booth door closed!

Great updates!!! :goodvibes

Trying to catch up on reading trip reports. Can't wait to stay at the Beach Club in August. I am hoping we love it as much as you, Marc and Baylor did! Baylor is really looking more mature. I can't believe it.

Just a news update about December: I am going to stay with my original days. I have airtran discount vouchers that I want to use and I must fly no later than December 18. I am bummed that we will miss each other yet again. Besides, it isn't set in stone yet. I still haven't told DH lol! He was talking about getting an ipod. Maybe I'll surprise him with one and then casually mention the quick Christmas getaway!

Take care!
