A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Baylor and I were hungry so we decided a snack in China was in order... Baylor had the spring rolls.

I had the Pot Stickers.

It was the Beach Club and they were ready for us! Yippeeeee! We were right at the IG so off we went to see where we would be spending the next 10 nights........

227.jpg

I have not tried the spring rolls or the pot stickers, so I think I'll make a point to try them this time. (Or at least one of the two and save the other for another time.)

That is a pretty walk to the Beach Club. It must have felt so good to walk back there and be at your room in minutes with no bus ride anywhere!

The BCV looks just heavenly. :cloud9: I love the color scheme.

Poor Baylor had to walk to the resort in his sleep, give that kid some rest already.

I was thinking BCV would make me feel rich as well. :rotfl:

Manpris here! Manpris there! Manpris are everywhere! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I am in awe of your sneaky, stealthy taking of so many manpris pictures -- especially the deviousness that you employed by using Baylor as a decoy! :thumbsup2

Oh. My. Gosh. Could the Beach Club be any more gorgeous??? Wow! I am just speechless. (I want to stay there now.)

I believe a new shower cap is in order for next year......

How about this one?

showercap.jpg

Nice! Now all that shower curtain needs is two black ears and Wigd can pose as Minnie! That shower cap on Splash Mountain is a picture I want to see!

It's great being able to fit cheap delivered water bottles in the full-size fridge so you can grab a couple on the way to the parks too and not have to pay so much in the parks for bottled water. Good for leftovers too!

:thumbsup2 I love having water and juice, diet soda in the frig and the meals at disney are usually on the huge side so we end up with tons of leftovers in there also!

We bought our initial points at AK through Disney 100 pts, then added on 50 thought resale...

We bought our initial points at BC through Disney 160, then added on 26 through resale.

While it was nice getting the developer points, I wish we had done the whole thing through resale. We would have had many more points now...
Granted we wouldn't have had the points for last Oct. and we wouldn't have had the points for SSR this May, but for the money and what we ended up spending we would have ended up with enough points to take both of those trips anyway. Sooooo, I guess what I'm saying is, look at what you are going to spend, then look at what you can buy using resale with those same dollars and see how many more points you will end up with in the long run....

Another great piece of advoce!!:thumbsup2 The only suggestion I have for this is if you buy more than 1 contract resale, try to buy points that have the same user month. From what I have read, that makes banking and borrowing much easier,

Yummm, the egg rolls and pot stickers look delish!!! I loved seeing all the flower and garden displays!! Thanks for bringing back good memories!!

Thanks for posting the BCV pictures. Keep them coming because that it my dream DVC resort, as EVERYONE Knows. Actually, I think the Kidani villas are much cooler inside, but BCV location can not be beat.

Today I took my son shopping at a Nike outlet. He wanted more "baller" shorts. He got this really big, really long pair of basketball shorts. When he put them on tonight I said, "Those aren't baller shorts, they're manpris".

As far as the conversation goes about buying DVC..... I bought my SSR contract through resale. I definately think this is a good way to go. And I bought 18 months ago before the stock marker crashed. Now the contracts are so much cheaper. I could be upset about it, but I'm not. My point is....for those people interested in buying....sign up for the Timeshare store list. You will get it once or twice a day. It is a good education in terms of price. The only disadvantage I see to using the Timeshare store is you pay a small closing cost fee and you have to wait for the points to go through right of first refusal, so it takes longer. In the end you get your points considerably cheaper. If you don't need your points right away, consider this. Plus, sellers will negotiate.

I need to buy a new car this fall, so I don't have the cash right now for another small contract, but if I did.......!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the pics from Epcot. The BC looks gorgeous! Those sandals are unfortunate; well, the whole outfit really.

Jackie! Buy DVC!!!!! Just Do It!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I say go for the pot stickers, they were delish!:goodvibes

You just can't beat the location of Beach Club, especially if you have a love of Epcot and World Showcase....DHS is an easy walk as well.:goodvibes

If he finds it, I will wear it, and yes, there will be photos!

thumbsup2 I love having water and juice, diet soda in the frig and the meals at disney are usually on the huge side so we end up with tons of leftovers in there also!
We also froze water bottles and capri sun flavored waters to take to the parks, that worked out just wonderfully!

We are learning a tough lesson on the user months.......:sad2:

I'm very anxious for our Kidani stay in December, but am so thankful that we have Beach Club to look forward to next May/June!

Did he look at you like you were crazy?!? :rotfl2:

I agree and I don't think Disney is buying back many contracts right now, so making it through is pretty easy unless they have people on a waiting list for a certain sold out resort!

I've been watching the resales too, but Marc is telling me that the money tree is empty...:sad1:

I'm sure the person wearing them was quite pleased with herself....:cutie:

No pressure Jackie, none at all...........:rolleyes1

I am a bit of a sneaky sneakerton.....and there were plenty of subjects up for grabs!

It is soooo pretty, I'm going to post more pics tonight or tomorrow!
Temptress! :rotfl:
Shameless :lmao:

I loved the manpris pics. In fact tonight we were out for dinner and went to the mall. DH wanted some new plaid shorts, and was complaining they are all long, I just lost it as I said you know they could just be manpris... he thought I was crazy.....then when he was trying on his shorts I struck up a conversation with another wife waiting... we were talking about how hard it was for her husband to find normal jeans, and DH was complaining about shorts... she said she saw our manpris at Banana Republic....

Secondly... oh my the Beach Club looks wonderful. Number one place I want to stay... I sure hope we get in there!

Brooke, if you could send me that link it would be great!

Here are two:

I hope they help!

This picture made me laugh out loud!! I love the look on Baylor's face and your DH's hand on his shoulder...oh too funny! He was completely clueless as to what you were really doing wasn't he??

So many manpris in Epcot! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

And YAY for your room being ready at 2:30! The Beach Club looks just beautiful!!

Why do you think you won't ever stay at SSR again?

I know Marc would love to have a pair of manpris, really I do.....

You never told me, how quick can you get down to Disney next year, are you going to try for Beach Club or stay at Kidani?

There are many scenarios we are throwing around for next summer. We will probably book for June, thinking we get out on the 7th, and could leave that next day or so. We hope (I) that we can stay at BC and Vero Beach, using in some way our 160 points from 09 that we are banking... staying in a studio. But we probably will book AKL this week for kicks, incase we don't get either (not so worried about Vero Beach... Boardwalk is #2 choice I think for our stay, although SSR might be nice if we are just relaxing ... awfully close to DTD.

I'll have to check those out, thanks!

Marc knew what I was doing but I just told Baylor to stand there, I wanted a picture of him with the ducks.........

The Beach Club looks just beautiful!!

Why do you think you won't ever stay at SSR again?
Since Beach Club and Animal Kingdom are our home resorts and I know how much I love the Beach Club, I just can't see us going back to SSR unless we have a last minute trip or rent points. I'm so excited to try out Kidani at Christmas! I'm sure we will love it there too, but I can already tell it will be so very different. I just hope it's an comfortable as the Beach Club is...:goodvibes

I'm sorry, Wigd - I got a little behind. You have so much activity on your TR that I sometimes forget to check the TOC for updates! :rolleyes1

BCV looks beautiful - and what a wonderful location.

The pics of flower and garden are amazing. How do they do that!?!?! I was just thinking how much my parents would love to see that - maybe we can coax them to go down with us someday!

Your manpris observations are hilarious. Honestly, I had never noticed them before your TR. Thank goodness DH doesn't own any - otherwise they'd be given to Goodwill so we wouldn't end up in the Manpris Hall of Shame! :rotfl:

So, if you do get right down there, and get Beach Club, we could possibly be there at the same time when we come back from our cruise on the 8th for our 3 nights...That would be soooo much fun!

Ohhhh Jackie, want to come and play with us at SAB?

Again with the tempting...:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

You know I would say yes in a heartbeat -- I just lack the points at the moment.

That reminds me, I need to add a link!

I have more pictures to post, it's just the most beautiful, comfy, non assuming resort. We just felt so at home (and rich according to Baylor).

We saw a program on Flower and Garden on TV, maybe HGTV, but it was incredible watching them prepare the topiaries. It's funny, we had always gone during F&G until last July, I couldn't believe the difference. I had really taken them for granted, but not anymore! I'll bet your parents would love it!

The manpris gave us a "purpose" I actually think we fought with each other less since we were working together to spot them....:lmao:

Again with the tempting...:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

No points necessary! That resort isn't very big and the villas are really close by. Last year when we bought Beach Club, since is was "sold out" we got no incentive and paid like $103 per point.... but I'm still glad we did it, just wish we would have gone with a resale....

This is true -- I wonder if Disney will have to do another promotion like the one this year...
