A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

Just buy a ton! Why not??? :goodvibes We have 200 and it is enough for a 1 bedroom, but in the Value season and I believe in the "Dream" at some locations (like OKW, SSR, etc)

We bought our initial points at AK through Disney 100 pts, then added on 50 thought resale...

We bought our initial points at BC through Disney 160, then added on 26 through resale.

While it was nice getting the developer points, I wish we had done the whole thing through resale. We would have had many more points now...
Granted we wouldn't have had the points for last Oct. and we wouldn't have had the points for SSR this May, but for the money and what we ended up spending we would have ended up with enough points to take both of those trips anyway. Sooooo, I guess what I'm saying is, look at what you are going to spend, then look at what you can buy using resale with those same dollars and see how many more points you will end up with in the long run....

Does making a frozen pizza, coffee and bagels count? :rotfl2: In December we do plan to cook real meals. I've found a couple threads on the DVC boards about what people cook in their villas and there are some really great ideas for easy meals. It's great being able to fit cheap delivered water bottles in the full-size fridge so you can grab a couple on the way to the parks too and not have to pay so much in the parks for bottled water. Good for leftovers too!

I'm going over to find those threads.... I really like my Disney dining but when it's pouring outside sometimes it's nice to cozy down and have something to eat at your villa!

ME either, Wigd...

Oh but we can watch everyone else!!!! ;)

Maybe we could get them to send us a wish you were here postcard.....

I am glad you liked my little men in their boypris!! And yes, we should look for eachother in Dec, when we start making plans!!!

I adore your little men and we do need to meet up. I know we are going to B&C to meet a DIS pal one day for a Kitchen Sink, celebrating her Birthday!

Okay I stayed up late last night and was watching TMZ while waiting for my hubby to return so I could go to bed...anyways they did a short brief on Tom Brady wearing capris...also known on this board as manpris...and I laughed out loud and knew I had to tell you!!!!

all this talk about points and trips and such......

I thought I would check our financial situation before discussing further trips....

I knew we were starting a trend over here on the DIS...:rotfl2:

Sounds like a plan :thumbsup2.... now where is this trip report, Wigd? :rolleyes1
I don't think I could possiby manage more than one at a time, but I might try when we get back from our conference in Vegas...

I agree with you about resale. I don't regret doing our initial purchase points through Disney, just to really "get" it all - but, all future purchases will most likely be through re-sale unless Disney comes out with something even better than what I can find on re-sale...which is doubtful. Plus, often times with re-sale you get banked points, so it's almost like Developer points!

I really have to resist browsing the re-sale boards....!

Let me know if you need direct links to the threads on cooking in the villa. On our January trip we made the frozen pizza and watched the season premier of Lost. It was a FANTASTIC way to spend the evening! And good point on when it's raining too - no way would I want to walk out in the monsoon.

Leave it to a DH to rain on our DVC dreams. I was telling my husband that I was reading about DVC in a TR and how I really want to buy and he said "Unsubscribe to that thread."

I would like that link to the recipe thread too. We will have the dining plan, but with small kids it's nice to have a back-up plan.

I have a tree just like this! We're going on the few leaves/dollars that have fallen to the ground and making the best of it. After this trip, we need to water it and let it grow, but October and MNSSHP is calling very loudly. We'll see what happens.

I think I need to get another tree. A part-time job at the Disney Store, perhaps?

Show him resale on the Timeshare Store website, I love getting their email, from Robert....

[/quote] Yes, it would be nice to get some ideas!

MNSSHP was calling my name too, but when we went last year we had comp flights, I just can't justify flying down for 3 full park days...even though we would be there on Halloween.

I think I need to get another tree. A part-time job at the Disney Store, perhaps?
Wouldn't it be fun to work part-time at a Disney Store? I think I would end up in the red by payday!:rotfl2:

We set the alarm and actually got up, we were moving today and I had to get busy getting all of our stuff packed to go to Beach Club. I really never unpacked the purple locker, just kind of rummaged through it whenever I needed something so it was a mess, never unpacked the clothes since we were not staying long, so they were a mess, but I had taken care of much of it the night before. We had our Kroger shopping bags from home plus our DVC bags to carry excess from our grocery shopping and outlet shopping. We loaded it up and called Bell Services to come and get it. I made sure they knew that one bag needed to go in the giant cooler they had there. I wish I had taken a picture of our move, it was a sight!
With our luggage and supplies gone we headed off to Epcot to have some fun and wait for Beach Club to call and let us know when our villa was ready. Mind you it was still fairly in the morning, but not MeMom early or even rope drop early....
Another view of SSR waiting for the bus...

179.jpg

We watched a turtle as we waited for the bus.

180.jpg

Not a rolling stone cause this one had gathered some moss.

181.jpg

Gosh I hope we get to stay here again someday!

182.jpg

Such a pretty resort!

184.jpg

It really bothered me to think we might never stay here again...but I was excited to get our move completed!

We arrived at Epcot and snapped a few photos, plus met up with the photo pass photographer.

185.jpg

Flower and Garden was almost over so I was happy to get there before everything was gone. We were there for the opening in March, some of the flowers were seeming to fade. I was surprised since it had been a monsoon the week before...

187.jpg

We headed right over to get fast passes for Soarin'.

Manpris

189.jpg

Then decided to take a green mission to mars......
then we grabbed fast passes for Test Track.

We decided to go to the Inoventions building and I saw these..

191.jpg

Then back out to WS and there were more!

196.jpg

I pretended to take pictures of the ducks..

197.jpg

Then got Baylor in the shot because I wanted to get the guys son too, I wished they would have cooperated and stood up!

198.jpg

Shenanigans with Timon, love it when there are no lines!

199.jpg

Behave for a picture please!

200.jpg

We dashed into Club Cool and saw more manpris!

201.jpg

Still trying to get over to WS and had to snap this..

203.jpg

More F&G pictures on our way over..

204.jpg

I really thought the floating flowers were beginning to fade, really everything else looked good!

I love that picture! So cool!

wow, that's alot of manpris in a short amount of time. I guess living in the middle of nowhere we are sheltered from the fashion forward.;)

OMG!!!! I am :rotfl::rotfl: with all of the manpris in that update!! Especially the father and son who wouldn't cooperate!! :lmao: That last guy has a pair just like me with the cuffed denim!! Too much!!
Hope you had a seamless move to BC...anytime I have changed resorts it is been really easy and smooth. :goodvibes
Tracy

OMGoodness, that is a lot of manpri action! The cuffed ones had me rolling!!

Sounds like you all got a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. Can't wait to see your new digs at the Beach Club!

:lmao: to all of the manpris. Waaaay too funny. Baylor looks less than thrilled in being in the manpri picture. :rotfl2:

Do you have a name for your purple locker? I follow the purple van on Twitter and he tells the names of the lockers on there, they are hilarious!

Girl, you are too much!! Those manpri pictures are a hoot!!!!

I am interested to hear about Beach Club - I would love to stay there someday. After this trip, I will have Saratoga and AKL under my belt, but I think I would LOVE Beach Club too! :lovestruc

As we leisurely made our way to the Mexico side of WS I continued to snap pictures, the next one is for our Chat Moderator Puumba!

210.jpg

A little bit more of Lion King!

212.jpg

213.jpg

A look across the lake, I can see the Swan/Dolphin and know at some point we will be making our way over...

219.jpg

Baylor and I were hungry so we decided a snack in China was in order... Baylor had the spring rolls.

220.jpg

I had the Pot Stickers.

221.jpg

We loved them both!

As we were leaving, I saw this woman wearing some very interesting sandals...or is it just me?

222.jpg

Then back over around to the Canada side...

223.jpg

We walked toward the UK and got behind this couple.

225.jpg

Pretty, pretty, England........

226.jpg

Then Marc's phone rang, it was only 2:30 and we wondered who in the world it was........

It was the Beach Club and they were ready for us! Yippeeeee! We were right at the IG so off we went to see where we would be spending the next 10 nights........

227.jpg

It was such a nice little walk and the next thing we knew, here we were! I think Baylor could have made it in his sleep, oh wait a minute, it appears that he did!

228.jpg

Beach Club prettiness!

229.jpg

Baylor waiting in the lobby for our KTTW cards...Have I mentioned that it smells heavenly in that lobby?

230.jpg

We chatted with Teena, one of the Beach Club greeters that posts frequently on the boards and she walked us towards our room. We reached what she called a short cut over to the villas and we said our goodbyes until next week, she only works a few days a week, but we would see her again before we checked out.
I snapped some photo's along the way....

Clear away from the lobby is the solarium, they had some afternoon games with the Wii on that big TV that Baylor enjoyed!

231.jpg

Just outside of the Villa entrance...

232.jpg

Then up to room 303!

The foyer in our villa...

240.jpg

Here are some more pictures of villa #303.

This became our laptop central.

239.jpg

Another little eating area, Baylor colored here...

241.jpg

I'm not finding pictures of the bathroom area, I'm sure I took some, it was wonderful! I'll post them when I they appear.

Up next: Investigating the Beach Club Villas and the rest of the resort!

Oh my. Beach Club looks AMAZING! :cloud9:

I worried that I was becoming way to obvious waiting for them to get up so I moved Baylor over for another attempt.
OMGoodness, that is a lot of manpri action! The cuffed ones had me rolling!!
They were everywhere!

Sounds like you all got a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. Can't wait to see your new digs at the Beach Club!
They are already posted.....:goodvibes

Her name is wigdoutdislocker......original huh?

Girl, you are too much!! Those manpri pictures are a hoot!!!!
As if Disney in itself isn't enough we have to amuse ourselves with manpris?!?

I am interested to hear about Beach Club - I would love to stay there someday. After this trip, I will have Saratoga and AKL under my belt, but I think I would LOVE Beach Club too! :lovestruc
We did love Beach Club, I hope we love Kidani as much! We have stayed at OKW, SSR and now BCV, Kidani is up next. We have loved them all, but BCV has won our heart for now.

Oh my. Beach Club looks AMAZING! :cloud9:
I just loved the light and airy feel, it was very comfortable, not a bit stuffy! Baylor said it made him feel rich....

I love your laptop central.
It was very handy!

I want those cushions that are on the back of the couch! They should have te couch in just that fabric!
