Julie, I have heard good things about Studio Catering Company over by the Backlot Tour. We have never tried it, but the menu looks pretty good.

Here it is:
Pressed Tuscan Deli - shaved smoked ham, smoked breast of turkey, provolone, Caesar dressing and Pesto marinated vine ripe tomatoes on a Tuscan Roll, served with apple slices or French Fries $8.49

Chicken Caesar Wrap - oven roasted breast of chicken, romaine, caesar dressing, wheat flour tortilla and served with apple slices or French Fries $8.69

Buffalo Chicken Sandwich - breaded chicken breast, romaine, tomato, spicy ranch dressing on a Tuscan Roll, served with apple slices or French Fries $8.79

Turkey Club - apple wood smoked bacon, swiss, roasted red pepper, arugula, sunflower panini bread served with apple slices or fries $9.19

We have the same problem with CS at DHS! Not the best choices there. They have all the usual, but nothing that stands out.

At MK it's usually Cosmic Rays for some rotisserie chicken and plenty of other choices or most recently Columbia Harbour House. I'm interested in trying out Pecos Bills too.

We always eat at Flame Tree BBQ at AK too.

There are so many great TS places at Epcot so we usually end up eating TS. As for CS options, I think the only place we have ended up at is Liberty Inn for chicken nuggets. I've also had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. It was yummy!

Sunshine Seasons breakfast is SO yummy! Hopefully, we'll be able to get a delicious pastry there to start our Epcot morning.

My mission on this trip is going to be to find something good to eat at DHS! And I will let you know when I accomplish that mission!

Claire is precious! Ellie turned 9 months 1/4 (I posted some pics on Memom's report). It will be fun hearing the similiarities in our trip since the girls are the same age. Of course, I am also chasing after a 5 year old. Sounds like fun trip planning. I think we will be there the same time! Are you doing the Small World meet at the beginning of March?

I'm going to have to go back and find the pics of Ellie! Claire and Ellie are only two days apart. That's awesome! I will definitely be at the Small World meet. It will be great to meet you and for the babies to meet their first DIS buddies!

Well let's see! My favorite restaurants at DHS are Mama Melrose's (YUM) and Sci-Fi Dine In (More for the atmosphere, but the food was good!). I would say you should definitely try Yak and Yeti at AK! I ate there for the for the first time last April and I LOVED it!

I have heard great things about Yak and Yeti. Maybe, just maybe, I will forgo my Flame Tree Lunch to try Yak and Yeti. Thanks for the suggestions!

We just found on our last trip the Starring Rolls at DHS. We haven't eaten lunch there yet but the sandwiches looked fantastic and that is where we are eating are CS that day. The desserts at Starring Rolls are fantastic though and huge.

I agree with Flame Tree, I love their chicken and pulled pork. We haven't eaten any other CS there that I can remember just a table service at Tusker House.

1) sleep- Aisling was and is a HORRIBLE sleeper. Honestly, we just keep going at WDW until she drops. We never do a bedtime and we never plan to make rope drop more than a couple of days. We also STILL schedule a downtime every afternoon for everyone to rest a little.

2) Earl of Sandwich. Yes, you must go there. And feel free to order multiple drinks...I do since they are all so tempting

3) Switzerland- wow, what a great opportunity for all of you. Hard since you won't have any help with the baby but still a great chance. I lived/worked in Ireland for a year and it was the best thing I've ever done.

I am getting more and more excited about our Earl of Sandwich meal(s). Yum!

My husband and I talked more in depth about Switzerland last night and if he is offered the job and we accept, Claire and I will most likely spend 2 months in Switzerland, 1 month at home, 2 months in Switzerland, 1 month at home. the time away from DH will be hard on all of us, but it will allow us to take this wonderful opportunity while still allowing for plenty of time for Claire to be with her family here. So, now we just wait for the interview...

Onto my favorite topic: Shopping!

I have done only a little bit of trip shopping at this point. I have SO much more to do!

Here's what I've purchased thus far:

The disposable bibs, disposable placemats (thanks to all of you for the suggestions!), and some travel size laundry detergents. I've tried out both the placemats and the bibs and I love them both. They are now staples in my diaper bag. As for the travel size laundry detergent, any time I have a $1.00 off coupon for Tide, I pick one of these up for free at Target! I then save it for our next travels. I know we'll need a couple more as Claire goes through many outfits each day and we'll surely be using the POR laundry facilities more than once!

As for clothes, here is my selection of Claire's Disney clothes:

Pathetic, I know! The hoodie will be great at Disney for the mornings and evenings. The ice skating, shirt, however, will not be accompanying us on this trip. I don't want to be reminded of ice and snow when I'm in Florida! After Claire's nap today, we're going to check out WalMart for their Disney clothes selection. I can't wait to see what they have! Old Navy also has a big clearance going on, so maybe I'll get some clothes for myself there. I'll share photos of our finds later!

Sounds like you guys are formulating a good plan for if you do go to Switzerland. How often would he be able to make his home trips coincide with your home trips?

That little shirt is very cute, but I'm with you - when we go to Disney World in six weeks, I do not want any remembrance of all things cold and snowy.

Just the thought of Flame Tree makes me able to smell that good BBQ smell. It's so good!

Oh Bipsters....They were my constant travel companion. Sometimes I wish I could still throw one on Aisling now (at 7) to protect her travel outfits We also brought take and toss cups when she was that age (by 9mo she was done nursing and was using a sippie cup). They were a HUGE help. We used the sippie cup and the snack cup ones for those Gerber Puffs or Cheerios.

I think that there would be a chance that Claire might like Finding Nemo the Musical. It might be worth a shot, especially, if you sit in the back and on the aisle so you can make a quick getaway if things don't work out. I think Hall of Presidents would be a lot trickier with a baby, unless, of course the darkness and lack of personal interest would lull her to sleep. If you try any shows, I'd definitely stick some snacks in your pocket, just in case.

I've moved many times, and one thing that I have learned is to never worry about moving before you know for sure you are moving. For every move we made, there were probably five that we considered that never worked out. So I wouldn't worry about the drawbacks of moving. Enjoy thinking about all the cool stuff about it, but don't worry about the bad parts until it happens.

We had the cream cheese stuffed pretzel last time. It was okay. I thought it kind of had an odd taste. Something about the outside of the pretzel didn't seem to match the inside. And we preferred the jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel. We could have just gotten a bad one though. Everyone else seems to like them a lot.

At DHS, we usually go to the ABC Commissary. I admit the food is not that good, but I don't think there is any good counter service food at DHS. ABC Commissary is pretty cheap and the chairs are comfy and it is never crowded. And you can sit by the window and people watch while you eat. Overall, it's usually a pretty relaxing and enjoyable meal.

DH would get 5 weeks of vacation if he gets/takes this job. So he would be able to come home several times a year as well, but not for as long as Claire and I would be able to stay.

I just bought a "long-sleeved bib" for Claire last week. It covers her entire chest, arms, and lap. I LOVE IT!!!! I want 10.

I had a burger at ABC Commissary once that was downright terrible. However, I had chicken curry from ABC Commissary that I ate during a very cold viewing of Fantasmic and it was delicious and perfectly warm. That hamburger, though, always flashes in my head when I think about ABC Commissary!

One of my favorite things to do at Disney World is to browse in all the shops. I typically only buy a couple things on each trip. Usually, I buy something for each of our dogs and a coffee mug. Almost every coffee mug in our cabinet is from Disney World and it gives me pleasure to see my non-Disney loving DH drinking out of Disney mugs every morning! Our dogs eat from their WDW food bowls each morning and I may or may not arrange the food bowls and water bowl in the shape of a Mickey Head...

I've got a strong feeling that I will be coming back with many more souvenirs from this trip than any trips in years past. And this will be for one very good reason...Claire!

Of course, I will buy souvenirs for the dogs and I'll get my usual coffee mug. And I'll definitely get something for DH.

And here are the things I would like to get for Claire:

1. Her very first Mickey ears hat, embroidered with her name. I can not wait for this!

2. One of those silhouettes. I watched an artist doing one of these and it was absolutely fascinating. And the product was excellent. The child whose silhouette was being made did not sit still very well, so I am hopeful that we'll be able to get a halfway decent silhouette made.

3. A stuffed character or seven.

4. A first visit pin (thanks, Jackie!)

5. Some sort of Disney shirt/onesie. Do they make "first visit" shirts or onesies for babies? If so, I'd love for Claire to have one! If not, I'm sure we'll find something else that's just perfect.

Is there anything else we should add to the list? I am sure this list will continue to grow as we count down to the trip. And I'm sure it will grow like a weed when we're actually there!

As if this child doesn't have enough stuff already!

Oh, I am all about the souvenir list! Had to laugh over your comments about DH drinking out of Disney mugs and the dog bowls shaped like a Mickey head.

I think you may find some very cute baby toys while you are there. Disney always has lots of good stuff!

Almost every coffee mug in our cabinet is from Disney World and it gives me pleasure to see my non-Disney loving DH drinking out of Disney mugs every morning!

That's what I bring back for Drew, too, because he uses them. I am always safe with coffee cups, travel mugs, and t-shirts for him. Not Disney t-shirts, though. He doesn't go that far. It has to be a Nike, Billabong, O'Neill, etc. from Team Mickey.

We haven't had such good luck finding baby stuff with First Visit on it. Most of what we have seen has been size 2T.
I guess they think nobody is crazy enough to bring babies.
They do have infant clothes. The Pooh shop is a good place for those, but I think it is going to be closed while we are there. They have a small selection of infant sizes in several places, though, but I don't know that you'll find any infant First Visit stuff. If you do, then !

A first visit badge (although as I was pregnant with him when we last visited, I do have one of those already - our check in lady gave me one when I told her I was pregnant!).
A Christmas ornament - hopefully of his choosing.
A tee-shirt and of course, LOTS of stuffed cuddlies!!!!!!!!!!

When we were there in October I couldn't find anything that said baby's first visit so this time I am going to look on the DISigns thread and see what I can find. I, too, got Both my boys there first Mickey ears. My oldest actually has two sets, the black standard ones that we got on his first visit then the next year I let him design his own. My second child is still too young to design his own but he can still wear his black ones and the baby will get her own set of black Mickey ears with her name on it.

We always buy an ornament when we go as well.

Earl of Sandwich is good, but if you like fish and chips you have got to try it at Cookes of Dublin - the best I've ever had, and I've lived in England!

Finding Nemo with a baby is definitely going to be tricky - it might be really hard for her to sit still that long. I doubt she'll be all that interested (not 35 minute interested anyway).

Micky ears are a definite must!! I have to share this picture from our last trip (dd was 18 months):

Those are just the kid sized ones - I don't like the baby ones because they're pink and blue and I'm a traditionalist

Switzerland - wow. It would be amazing, but it will also be very difficult to be away from your mom. I think my parents would just die if I moved that far away with their grandkids, and I don't know what I would do without their help! My husband is from England and I've flown there with small children 3 times - it's awful. Really really hard. I have a friend who moved to Istanbul for her husband's job and it was originally going to be 2 years, now it is just one but she is counting the days and can't wait to come back and have life return to normal. Things that sound like amazing adventures when you're young and carefree just end up being work once you have kids. I can definitely see some amazing things about it though - it's easy for me to say I don't want to live in a different country when I've already done it!

Baby food - I wouldn't bother. Solid food is just for fun and learning before 1 year, all they *need* is breastmilk or formula. All the parks sell bananas, and she'll be able to nibble on whatever you get yourself. I'm tempted to bring a box of cheerios and a snack trap though, just for DS's entertainment!

I like your souvenir list. Shopping at Disney is so much fun. Last time we went, I am not sure if I even bought anything for the boys. I remember seeing some things for Carter that I liked, but nothing that I liked for Landon and I didn't want to get something for one and not for the other. They might have better girl clothes, though. Most places do.
