Ok so we have never been the Universal Studios in Florida (just California).. This trip we are bringing our own babysitter and plan to have some date nights.. There are sooo many restaurants that look REALLY good at Universal.. Since everyone has such different tastes I will mention that we LOVE latin/mexican and middle eastern flavors.. we love really spicy food and since only one of eats meat we need variety
1.Are they as good as they sound?
2.Which Emeril restaurant is better?
3.#1 date night romantic or really fun atmosphere (not too kid focused) restaurant?

I am also wondering where I can find out all the fun stuff going on at Universal I have looked at the calendar on their site but don't see much listed for daily events.. I have looked at the Dec. holiday site and see parades and other events we would like to attend but I can't see what days they run and what times.. I am a super planner so I am worried I will book a day elsewhere and regret missing out on something.
So is there a daily calendar like WDW has??

Sorry about all the questions! Thought I would just lay 'em all out there instead of asking them all seperately hope no one minds :) If you have an answer for one of for all I would love to hear it! thank you

The info for December won't be up for a while yet. At Universal, we don't plan as far ahead as at Disney. There is no need.

The two Emeril restaurants are completely different. One is Asian inspired and the other isn't. There are lots of clubs and other great restaurants to try. Check out the Citywalk page at the universal website.

Thank you for responding :) Too bad no info is up for a while since it makes it really hard to plan which days we want to at Disney etc.. I have been looking at all the restaurant pages on Universal's site and here and the most helpful thread I found was the food pictures posted here YUM! I guess since no one has any suggestions I'll go back to reading the menu's and looking for pictures Mytho's sure looks like it has a great atmosphere since I hear it's a kid friendly option I think we'll save it for a family night :)
thanks again!

I vote for Emeril's Tchoup Chop (sp?) at Royal Pacific Hotel... especially if you have a vegetarian on board. Definitely a nice date night spot. The flavors are asian fusian, some are spicy, too, if you like that. I also would recommend Mythos and would say it is family friendly. I know they have a pasta of the day, so that would work for the vegetarian, too.

I like Pastamore on Citywalk (I am a vegetarian, as well... I need to stop saying that word!)... It's not the best Italian place I have been to, but it is good for afforable-ish dinner. I am not a big fan of counter service at Universal because I feel limited in that I can get pizza or a veggie burger... :/. Hope that helps a little.

Have you checked out the menus on allears?

Thank you for the suggestions! that does really help! I think that Tchoup Chop sounds great! Yes I have been reading the menus but it always helps to here from someone first hand what the atmosphere and edibility of the food was like LOL Thanks again!

I think that most people agree that Mythos is great!!! I would rather have two meals at Mythos than one at an Emeril's.

You may also want to try The Palm at Hard Rock Hotel for a date night. They are a steak and seafood restaurant, but they offer lots of pasta and vegetable dishes, too. The servers will be happy to point out all the vegetarian options. They also asked us if we wanted anything "special" done to our order, like spicing it up more. Expensive, but well worth it. Fantastic food and service! We left feeling very spoiled and pampered, and filled to the gills because we just didn't want to stop eating. It's been almost eight months since we were there, and we still talk about it. It makes my mouth water....

The food at Mythos is fantastic, it's won the best theme park restaurant award numerous times! :thumbsup2

I just got back from Universal and Emerils appeared to be closed. It was in the evening hours but appeared to be closed - not sure why. We at at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company - very good and also at Margaritaville. We have 2 teenagers and they ate with us. Also, did not see a daily planner at Universal but there was plenty to do. Also Islands of Adventure was great - geared more towards older kids with the exception of Dr. Seuss land. CityWalk has lots of neat shops and restaurants. Hope this helps somewhat. We had a blast and can't wait to go back.
