A Whirlwind of Eats and Treats!: April 2015 Dining Report (w/ F&G)- COMPLETED

Okay, you officially have me starving for everything you ate at the F&G food booths!
You're welcome!

We were there in March, but unfortunately, the day we had planned to do the booths, I was in bed, in between running to & from the bathroom, sick as a dog. I made my husband go to Epcot as planned. He resisted at first, felt bad, didn't want to leave me, etc etc, but I was like, "the last thing I need is you staring at me, asking me every five minutes if there's something you can do for me", so he went.
Awww, you poor thing! I certainly do hope you can enjoy it next year!

I'm so sad I missed out on all that yummy food, but your report has given me hope for next year! Thanks for sharing. Love your writing style, short, descriptive, to the point, and great photos!
Thank YOU very much, that's incredibly kind of you to say! :goodvibes

Love this stuff. Heard you can get it with some rum. YUM!
Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!! Where where!

This all looks delicious.
And it tasted even better than it looks! :P

You had me at bacon, but lost me at floppy ; ) I know I'm odd but I love burnt, crispy bacon. Something must be wrong with me
Actually, you're not alone. My parents cook the crap out of their bacon. When you pick it up, it's like a plank. As such, until I was an adult, I thought I didn't like bacon!!! o_O But then I discovered floppy bacon, and my whole world changed... for the better. :D

Thanks for letting me eat along with you. Looking forward to more in December.
And I'm looking forward to eating along with your June weekend adventure! :cutie:

Jumping in here (sorry, I feel pretty nosey, lol!) because that is some great news. I've never had the POG juice, but I'm thinking that would make a perfect tropical cocktail to enjoy while lounging at the Poly.
POG juice! Is that what it's called? I can never remember! :confused3

Totally enjoyed reading along! See ya over on your PTR and I look forward to your Dec. DR :)

Then clockwise from the top is a Mediterranean-style salmon that I LOVED. :lovestruc I'm not normally a big salmon person, but the seasonings that they used for cooking this were outstanding, and it had olives and capers and tomatoes with it and it was really QUITE surprisingly delicious.
That sounds scrumptious.
Because I'm relatively certain that in my previous life, I was a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
:rotfl:
Cassava Cake: This was weird. Not weird bad, just weird weird. And it also tasted vaguely familiar at the same time, and never could put my finger on why. Glad I tried it, but not something I would get again.

Guava Panna Cotta: This was lovely, and every bit as smooth and light as a panna cotta should be.

Zebra Dome: Classic and scrumptious as usual.

Kenyan Coffee Tart: Now THIS was amazing. I think something may have finally surpassed the ubiquitous Zebra Dome as my most favorite dessert at Boma! I was actually thinking of going back up for a few more, but then looked around and realized I was the only customer left in the place... and just asked for my check instead.

Key Lime Cheesecake: I love key lime, and I love cheesecake... but this was a disappointment. Sigh.
Most of those sound really neat and certainly worth a bite or two!
because I'm at POFQ so I am obligated to try...

...the ubiquitous beignets! They were good. I don't know that it's necessarily something I would order again, but I'm definitely glad that I tried them!
I'm so embarrassed that we didn't try these when we stayed at POFQ for 5 nights. *sigh*
Hahaha! This is the EXACT reason I am so hesitant to ever stay at the Boardwalk! The Mardi Gras masks only give me a little pause, but clowns... now they TOTALLY freak me out. And this... well... THIS here just terrifies me...

No ma'am! Nuh huh! Not this girl! No way! o_O
My daughter agrees on that, she can't handle the idea of the slide being anywhere near her!
My table! How perfect is that? I had a lovely view of both the ballroom, and the snow falling outside the window. :goodvibes
sounds simply delightful!

AWWWWWW YEAAAAAAUHHH. Strawberry Shortcake, baby! I've been seeing photos of this beast here on the DIS for months (particularly on @DisneyKid4Life 's trip reports), and finally got my hands on it. It did NOT disappoint! Pretty much the best strawberry shortcake I've ever put in my mouth. OM NOM NOMMY GOODNESS. :goodvibes
all the yums! Have to try this next time!
Thank you for your lovely whirlwind dining report! :goodvibes

That salmon at Boma was incredible. I wish I was eating it RIGHT NOW. :cloud9:

You didn't miss much. I didn't think they lived up to the hype.

Nope nope nope. That slide is a whole lotta NOPE.

Thank you for reading and enjoy! :goodvibes

Just finished reading your report and I really enjoyed it! We're big fans of POFQ (as you can see by my signature, LOL) and you enjoyed some of the same things I did on our last trip. That breakfast bowl was incredible, but I had to split it with DH because it was so incredibly filling. It doesn't look like a lot when you get it, but it's really rich. I also loved the chicken and ribs, sooo good! :lovestruc

The pork dish from BOG ... HEAVEN! :cloud9:

We haven't had an opportunity to try the F&G offerings, but I'm hoping next year we might sneak a trip in during April. We've been to F&W many times and this looks similar, but with different selections of course.

I look forward to your next DR!

Aww, I loved POFQ! And I really was super impressed by their Food Court. It was super delicious! Yum! :cutie:

Oh man, it was sooo goooood! It's going to take all my willpower not to order it again in December! Must... Try... Different... THINGS!

F&G was very similar! Maybe half as many booths, though. And more sweets, less savories, I felt. My as previously discussed, I'm a Tyrannosaurus Rex, so I'm unusually aware of such things. :P

I look forward to your next DR!
Thanks, me too! I've got my fork ready! :rotfl:
