A wedding and a Disney Trip and 1 yr to plan it all. 4th of July Pix

Purple and gold--so you are secretly from my part of the woods -- LSU colors--LOL!!

seriously, I like both the idea of purple and gold. But, if you like the idea of Red, White, & Blue maybe go with mainly Red & White with a touch of blue accents or white w/the accents of red and blue (which could be a lot less tacky--if think you may end up on that end of the spectrum). Subtle color accents can be beautiful; I also think a champagne color w/purple & gold when done right will have a very regal appeal.

Good luck! and congrats on the hall beautiful choice!!!

I like the purple and gold. But, I could also see red and white (no blue) together for a July 4th wedding.

Oh, I almost forgot, the place is beautiful!

Thank you very much. I like 2 of the colors with a touch of the other. Good idea, I also like champagne w/ purple and gold. Ooooo, there are so many choices.

Thanks, and red and white would be nice too. I don't know. I'll keep all of these options in mind.

Thanks so much. I love hearing from others. Everyone I know just says yes to whatever I say, cause, ya know, they want to please the bride. BUT, that's not really helpful ;)

I'll let ya know when I decide, which i'd like to do soon, so we can start on the save the date cards. I'll have pics of everything posted as we go along.

I should mention that I was a professional floral designer. Mom was a designer and had a shop for 15 yrs; so, I was brought in to manage and ended up doing it all. Doing weddings and helping w/color combos on the floral portion of it was always my fav. After I moved out of the suburbs and into the country I only did the books; I still do the occasional wedding or prom/shower corsages just not easy when ou do not have access to wholesale materials/if I buy at retail it is hard to charge a design fee (to your friends).
Just be careful if you choose silk flowers/watch the grade you use sometimes it can tack up the look w/the cheapness (even if it's not cheap).;)

Hi Pam! I made it over. So glad you got started on your PTR. Looks like you have a lot of fun stuff to plan. Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

In the intro is said that Lizzie's birthday was about a week before Emily's what day was it? I'm just curious because Lindsey's b-day was the 23rd.
Hope you have a great morning!

Leanne

The Wedding hall is beautiful. I like the purple/gold color scheme, throw a little green in and it becomes the royal colors. I like the deep colors for a wedding. When Dale and I got married we had Royal blue and cream as our colors. The deep rich colors are so pretty in a wedding.

Your field trip looks like fun. I love homeschooling. I can take Dallas on a field trip all alone or with our homeschooling group. There are no limits to what we can teach our children and we can make sure they understand and teach it in a way that they will understand. Hey, I have pulled out the m & m's more than once :rotfl:.

Hello!!!! Glad you're here. Lizzie's bday was the 20th :goodvibes

Thanks, i'm very excited about our wedding even more now!! And I love homeschooling too. We're not starting our full curriculum until about mid august. But we read and work on Math every day. (Well, pretty much every day, we do love our summers.) The girls are doing awesome and love taking out their work. They're actually bugging me right now. It's pouring here today, so we're just going to chill out. Which is great by me, we've been out since last thursday. And because we knew about our field trip the week before we did a lot of research on the museum and the river. Emily, especially was so interested in it. Let me just through in another while i'm at it. I was so proud of this. When we were watching the fireworks this weekend My Mom ended up saying "wow, I wonder who started fireworks" So, Emily pipes up and starts telling her it started with the Chinese, they were one day playing around with gun powder. Everyone looked at Emily, like  It was so awesome!!!!!

I still gotta put up our 4th of July pics!!!! I'll do that later!!!

Congratulations on getting married!

My wife and I took a backwards path to getting married as well. Our DD was born about 18 months before we got married.

We took a Disneyland honeymoon and had a blast. It was just the two of us, however so we only needed to plan for us as DD stayed with the grandparents.

We'll be going in early September this year; first time in September for any of us, so it'll be a new experience. Also on the dining plan (free) for the first time this year, so we're eating at a lot of places we might not otherwise eat at.

Good luck with your planning!

Hey scoot, thanks for joining in, and i'll be looking forward to reading about your September trip, as next year will be our first time going in September as well.

Thursday we had our field trip. Friday we had a fire going in the yard and lit off our own fireworks. But I have no pics from Friday.

Saturday we went to my brother's house for an all day cookout. We were there from 12pm until about 6:30pm.

We of course spent most of our time in the pool.

All of us in the pool. Manny was taking the pic, he's not a big pool person

Then we went out into the yard for some volleyball. Oh, my word, that was so much fun, my arms and stomach muscles still hurt.
Some action shots

Anthony and my brother, Ricky were the last 2 left playing, everyone else was exhausted.

Manny was still going too though

Then we ate and the kids jump roped for a little while

And Ricky was teaching Anthony how to moon walk, we had some Michael Jackson playing.

Anthony was moonwalking for the rest of the weekend, he thought it was just the coolest thing.

We had a very nice day!!!

I figured i'd throw up some more pics of our weekend.
On Sunday we went back to my brother's house for another day long cookout. His girlfriend's sisters and cousins were at this one so it made for even bigger, better volleyball games.

The kids of course just wanted to play in the pool again though.

We stayed until about 5:30, then went home to change and get ready for the fireworks. My Mom, brother, his girlfriend, his girlfriends sister and her boyfriend all came, and of course, Me, Manny and the kids. They had a very nice display this year.

We like to go early to eat and hang out, it was a very nice night.

At one point Uncle Ricky layed back and Lizzie decided to decorate his face with Reese's.

And then my Mom, who was sitting right behind him decided it would be funny to add a CUPCAKE.

Ok enough fooling around, here come the fireworks!

Looks like a wonderful 4th of July! Your brother's pool looks really neat too.

Yes, his pool is wonderful, he just moved in on June 1st so it is still new, so even more exciting.

Hello~

I would just like to say, that I am new member to the DISBoards, but have been reading tons and tons TR's since before our family's first trip in August of 2008 (I went to WDW a few times as a child/teenager before I was married), and I would have to say that yours is probably one of my favorites!!! It is nice to see families that really appreciate Disney and every aspect of magic that Disney has to offer. Me, DH, and DS (Austin, who is 3 now), plan on returning for his 5th birthday (which is in Oct 2010, but we are hoping that they are going to offer free dining again in Sept 2010-we are fans of the DDP). Planning is one of the best parts of going to WDW, and when you have others to share your planning with, it makes it 10 times more exciting. I know that your family, as well as a few others on here have given me many ideas for my family's next trip, and I hope that I can share some of mine on here as well!!!!

Awww, i'm so glad you enjoyed my TR! I hope my next trip will be as much of a JOY as this one was. I'm sure it will be. Who knows maybe we'll be there around the same time next year. I cannot wait to see if free dining comes out for 2010 too. I'm really HOPING!!!!! If it does not, we'd go for the quick service plan again. We actually really enjoyed that and would love to do it again, but of course if the free DDP is offered, we'd love to try that too. I'm excited about all of the character lines we will not have to stand in.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on lately, we've been so busy. The summer actually warmed up here and we've been at my brother's pool and riding bikes, no more training wheels here (except for Sam of course) So that's all they've been wanting to do.

We actually just planned a camping trip to our favorite place in the world, our campground that i've been taking my kids to since they were born and My Mother took us since we were around 12. I do Love Disney, but nothing compares to this place. Ya know, when you just have so many memories and something is so special, well, that is this place. We are going up August 13, 14, 15 and 16. I'll post pics of that when we get back!!
We also have HUGE plans to buy and RV to place seasonally on this campground and we are beyond excited :banana::banana: It is all I would have wanted when I was a child, so I keep thinking about the summers my kids will have here!!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

On top of everything else we have been getting ready for the last week of August when we will start homeschooling. We've been doing a lot already when we are home, but i'm not starting anything major until then. So we've been purchasing our curriculum and other things we need. It's been fun and we're excited. We're actually off to the store shortly to buy notebooks, paper and folders.

HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!

I know how exciting getting started in homeschooling can be. I love it. I can't wait to hear more about your plans for the camping trip.
