So where is the best place in theeee entire world to celebrate your birthday???
DISNEY WORLD!!!!

Before I get to explaining how it is a tradition, let's start with some background information.
The Who:
Rachel (me):

Sara:

Julie :

Aaron:

The What:
My 23rd Birthday Celebration
The When:
March 19-21.
The Where:
Sara has an apartment just behind Disney (she can hear/see Wishes from there haha) so we will be staying with her. The 19th and 21st are travel days

We also have reservations at Ohana! Hopefully we'll be able to watch wishes from the windows!

The Why:
Because it is my 23rd birthday and all traditions must continue!!!
Now, on with the explanation on why this is a tradition. To do that, we need to go back two years...
*time machine turns on and the page gets all fuzzy and stuff*
It's sometime in January 2008. I'm sitting in my Law and Ethics class waiting for it to begin. I'm a little bummed because my Junior internship has put a dent in my birthday plans.
This year is a big deal, I'm turning 21 and nobody is going to be alone on their 21st right?
Wrong.
I will be. I have to stay up because my spring break got split in half and I have to stay at the school I intern at. It is completely depressing and I dread the thought of spending my 21st all by my lonesome (because it would be just me in my apartment for a week). Then my phone rings.
It is Aaron. He's calling to ask the most wonderous phrase I have ever heard:
"Hey do you want to go to Disney for your Birthday? Elaine and I can come up if you want"
What? Do I want to go to Disney? DO I WANT TO GO TO DISNEY FOR MY BIRTHDAY????? I about explode with happiness.

Not only it is the sweetest gesture to come up and spend time with me for my birthday, but he wants to go to Disney as well! Well hip hip hooray!!!
*Time machine takes us back to the present*
So that's how it started. We went in 2008 with Elaine. Then I suggested doing it again in 2009, and Sara was game. Elaine couldn't come so Julie came instead and Sara signed us all in. The birthday was even more magical (minus the room mate who gave us a hard time, and hates Disney. Yes people, there are humans out there who actually hate Disney. And I lived with one for three years) than the previous.
This year I am hoping for more magic and maybe a little mayhem! I have a lot of great memories from both trips (such as the poor elderly lady who passed out in front of us in line for Jungle Cruise, who almost lost her intestines on us instead of the floor. Or Aaron having to have a wheelchair and getting knighted by Cinderella as "Sir Cupcake") and hope to make some more. And now I have the DIS to help me with that!
So of course, this will be your usual PTR, with thoughts and planning leading up to the day. And I will graciously accept any and all input! Then I will be able to come back and share my trip with everyone!
Before I make any of those posts, I will leave you with some phots from our past trip (BTW my actual birthday is March 13th, we decided to go the week after, because I haven't spent my actual birthday with my mom in a couple of years).

Myself, Aaron and Elaine

Aaron loves Splash Mountain. Especially the Chickens at the end haha.

"Sir Cupcake" haha

Julie, Sara, Myself, Belle (durrrr), and Aaron
At first Aaron was standing off to the side while we interacted with the princesses (and when we met Peter. Which was totally awkward). But we kept yelling at him and so the princesses started interacting with him as well. That's how he got knighted. I forced him into this picture with Belle, saying it was my birthday present. That's why I look so happy, and he looks so angry. This was on FB shortly after and all his friends made fun of him for it. Haha, but he's good about it.

She was a great Belle by the way. Julie and I told her she was our favorite princess and she said, "Oh you must love to read then!" So we reccommend a book to read, and she said she'll have to see if it's in her library the beast gave her. Cute! (BTW we told her to read "Time Travelers Wife" and if you haven't - go to a bookstore. Buy it. Read it now.)
See ya in the next post real soon!!!
