A Very GAY Christmas Trip Report: NOW ALL WRAPPED UP AND WITH ALL NEW PHOTOS!

:wave2: Hello. I just started with this thread and I am still on day one just after the concierge lounge. Usually I try to wait until I have finished the whole thing before posting a comment . . . but I am scared I'll forget my questions by the end. (Ya know after 3 kids and turning the big 4 0 this year, the ol' brain ain't what it used to be!) :teeth:

Loved, LOVED the description of the Eastern Airlines ride. That was one of my favorites too (along with CofP). It was so cool inside and it felt like it just whisked you away. Of course I had never even ridden on an airplane back then!

Which anniversary will y'all be celebrating in August? That lounge at the AKL looks amazing! We are staying at the Poly in Sept/Oct and I have spent so much time oggling the offerings in that lounge! What was the hot stuff they offered in the lounge anyway? I may have to hit AKL concierge on a future trip!

The look of those hot air balloons when you woke up! OMG! That must have been truly MAGICAL!

Oh, boy, I soooooo get dementia; you have no idea (I actually have DOCUMENTED dementia!!!).

I am sooo happy you remember Eastern Airline's "ride," wasn't it the best "free" ride on property?

As you've probably scoped out by now, Gwen and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary, not bad, huh?

I can't help with concierge offerings; we were there less than 12 hours and were only lucky enough to enjoy breakfast - which included HOT cereal. But look out we're on our way back to concierge for 10 days!!!

hey TubaChick and MissusToad, you all are more than welcome! Thanks for reading!

SUE: Indeed, here! hear! for mortifying our teens!!! Personally, I can remember at 18 being mortified every time my grandmother just suddenly danced through the living room and now I wish she was here to dance through every single day of my life! Our kids should be so lucky to have us dancing!

MAGICME: You are very welcome; thank you for reading and responding.

FIRKAT: My admittably handsome son requests that all beautiful young women contact him directly! :)

LUVMYBOYS: Twenty years together IS an amazing accomplishment, isn't it? Thank you for noticing it and honoring our commitment.

ERIN: LOBSTER TOSSING!!! Indeed, I wonder how many others wondered what the hack was up with that? There is, on the Boardwalk, a booth for the literal tossing of big plastic lobsters into big steel pots, via a rotating catapult. Well, guess what? This klutz with three thumbs has a gift, and thus a passion, for the tossing of lobsters. Who knew???

Hi Viki,

I really enjoyed reading your trip report like all the other folks. I can't wait to hear about your trip in August. Love the food photos.

Oh, if nothing else, we love to eat!!!

I'm not sure how the 20th Anniverary Trip Report will manifest (I mean, we won't be doing any commando stuff, but we will be meeting with Dis friends and family for many adult beverages), but I will give it my best go!

Just finished....and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your trip! You really do have a beautiful family, and BIG congratulations on the 20 year Anniversary coming up! I'm also glad to hear that your friend Danny was man enough to admit defeat....some would have not caved just to be difficult! LOL

Thanks, friend. In the last few days I've invited my partners in crime to add their own comments - wouldn't a public admission of the transformation of spirit be sooooo satisfying :rotfl2: - but so far silence reigns. (Actually, Gwen said that as usual I said it all - and more!).

We're in powerful countdown mode for the AKL anniversary trip and really getting excited!

Viki!!!! You rock! I love this epic! You are on my "short list" of favorites!

I'm dieting so I obsess over the food pics! Gotta "save up" so I can go crazy on DDP and not care that my jeans are cutting off my circulation.

When I read through your report there's just so much I love about you.
I want to be all "cosmopolitan" and sophisticated :smooth: ! I did see Phantom, once, years ago. Does that count? DH and I would NOT fit in at your table. Me with my diet Pepsi, smuggled in a collapsible cooler (ok, I'll add an umbrella AND a cherrie) and DH who thinks he's funny immitating Goofy ( :sad2: ). You disscussing Europe or something cool and me referring to anything EPCOT World Showcase just to pipe in.

Your shleppy fan,
UtahMama

You just had to bring attention to the fact that this is a GAY report didn't you? Personally, I think that people who bring attention to their choices (that is correct I said "choices") show a sense of guilt and a lack of self-esteem.

I find it sad that you felt the need to log on to someone else's trip report thread and post something unkind. In all of the many posts that Viki has made, I have never detected guilt and a lack of self-esteem. In your post, however, I detect a hard heart and bigotry.

I love this report and feel so glad that someone took longer to write their's than me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few mean spirited posters came to my thread and said unkind things. I hope you disregard the negativity and focus on all the folks' comments that loved your trippie. Please know I loved this and you! :yay:

Thanks for taking the time to share this rockin' tale.... :thumbsup2

It is a legitimate question. I just wonder why many people who make gay and lesbian choices have to force their lifestyle "choice" on everyone else?

It was a clever play on words for a trip report title, and many people identify who they are in their titles. That way it gives people an idea of what is to come.....

I send a pm to someone with an offtopic question.

This is my last post on this article.

I remember seeing a thread for gay and lesbian trip reports at this site (How PC is that?). So I believe that this article is actually "off-topic".

as that would imply that you are at least trying to play well with others. :furious:
Echoing others' posts, I LOVE Viki's report -- thought it was well-written and had lots of useful info for WDW pros and newbies alike. Additionally it is obvious from this thread as well as many others, she is a fine, caring, thoughtful, loving and lovable person.
Now, just wondering... what do your whoppin' six posts so far, say about you and your world view???? :confused3

Viki and Gwen, and family,

Great Trip report.

Pixie Dust, Goldi princess:

I, a very heterosexual southern female, got a HUGE kick out of your trippie.

I found alcohol an underlying theme --- the fact that you happen to be gay is almost not important.

Thanks for the memories.

I find your post pathetic and ignorant and I almost don't want to dignify it with an answer, but this really makes me :furious: I, on the other hand, wonder why people who make bigoted comments force their opinions on us? How very sad. :sad2:
I don't remember being forced to read this wonderful TR of a beautiful family on a great holiday.

I was not going to post anymore however, I must reply. Yes it is very pathetic and sad that our society has become so "open-minded" that our brains are falling out. I have traditional values and standards that I am very proud of. I expect these kind of coments from a group who would be liberal enough to want to read this article. I saw the post and am angry that instead of announcing that this was an article about simply a trip report, the author had to bring attention to the fact that it was a gay (notice all lower case?) one.

There is enough alternative lifetsyle garbage being pushed down our throats by Holywood and the media (if aliens watched our movies and television shows they would think that 85% of our world is gay or lesbian). Now you can blah, blah, blah all you want I will not reply again.
