A Very Disney Christmas! Nov/Dec 2010 PTR (Trip Drama & 2 Days! 11/24)

How fantastic! That sounds so fun. I just put together my "bucket list" on my PTR and was really glad that I remembered everything I had wanted to include. Except for the sleigh ride! Oh well. Not going ot happen for a long while as Holiday trips are tough for us right now.
How is your school about taking your DD out? Ours gives us a really hard time even when they are little.

How did you make out in the storms?
We are about to get slammed!

I'm not sure about the school b/c I've never taken Ally out for anything. However, Ally is WAY ahead academically and as a former teacher I have no problems taking her out. And her teacher is fabulous--she's not going to have a problem with it. Her class is very structured and routined so I know exactly what Ally will miss. I'm going to tell her soon so that she will have plenty of time to let Ally make up her work!

The storms actually weren't too bad here. It was incredibly windy and it rained pretty hard but that's about it. The storms went north and south of us. I was thinking about ya'll--it looks like ya'll were hit pretty bad. Did ya'll make it ok? No damage I hope.

HI!!!!! :wave2: I have been reading along, I am BEHIND, but of course hearing all about your christmas plans and the SLEIGH ride, is soooo exciting! I am sure you will have so much fun. It was a very memorable experience for us!! :goodvibes I am going to be away next week, and that means more time for DISing, so I will definitely catch up with all the pre-holiday plans! ALSO, I think we are there at the same time? I am going with DH only, for the 28th - 1st right after Thanksgiving. Sun - Wed. Before we have a conference to attend in St. Pete's... We probably wont be going to the parks, but I am really wanting to go to the MVMCP on the 30th, I think it is.... I can't remember the exact date. I will have to compare where you are and maybe we can say HI! :goodvibes

Anyhow, great plans! Jingle Bells! :santa:

Hi Jennifer!! Good to see you posting, girl!! :goodvibes Oh wow!! We WILL be there the same time!! We'll be there Nov. 27-Dec. 4th! Oooh--we're going to MVMCP on Nov. 30th (it's that Tuesday)!! Let me know for sure and maybe we can meetup!! :santa:

That sleigh ride looks like so much fun! I am sure you will have a great time!

I'm so excited!! I've read only good things about the sleigh ride! :santa:

I'm so glad you were able to work the sleigh ride into your schedule - it sounds like so much fun! :goodvibes It really is amazing how many things Disney offers for the holidays. Our 5 night trip is definitely not going to be long enough to experience all of the fun things. I guess that just means we'll have to plan another holiday trip! ;)

Me too, Courtney!! I'm soooo excited about it--and surprising the girls! That's right--you'll definitely need to plan another holiday trip! :santa:

Becky your trip sounds like so much fun! How fun is a sleigh ride at Christmas? I have been seriously slacking in planning..lol:) I just booked the Candlelight Processional though but on a different day.

Thanks Nichelle!! What day are you doing the CP? Do any of our park days match up? I'd love to meet you!! :goodvibes

A sleigh ride at WDW sounds HEAVENLY!! I'm glad you were able to fit it in your schedule! :)

Thank Missy!! I am, too! And I'm so glad that they offer them later in the evening--no missing out on the park stuff!

A Christmas sleigh ride sounds so perfect!!! I can't wait to see your pictures from it!!!

Thanks Jackie!! I cannot WAIT!!!

I'm so glad to see you back!!! Sorry to hear about those couple of rough months, I know how it is to leave a church and deal with the assumptions. :sad2: You'd think that Christians wouldn't do all that considering what the Bible says...but well...it happens. A lot. And it drives me bonkers! I'm so glad to hear you guys are doing well and got through it all and God has led you to a new church home, it sounds like a perfect fit. :goodvibes

Your plans are looking wonderful too! The sleigh ride sounds amazing! It's such a Christmasy thing to do!

Hi Brook!! So glad to see you posting!! :goodvibes It does happen and I just have to remind myself that Christians aren't perfect people--we are sinners, too--just forgiven! But thanks--we LOVE our new church and couldn't be happier!

Good! I'm glad you had such a good experience! I think I've decided to try out Magic Strollers. I posted a thread asking for recommendations for both, and the feedback that I got says that Magic is a bit cheaper to begin with, but they also throw in a parent's organizer (read: drink holder) and a rain cover for free! :thumbsup2Everything else being equal, the free items really give them the edge. I think some people had an issue with their drop off time, but it works just fine for us. I plan to place my reservation tomorrow! :goodvibes

And (as you know), we got our Mickey mail today! I'm so excited! It's almost here!

Oh good!! I'd love to hear your experience with them once you get back! I know--sooo exciting!! It takes a bit longer for me to get my Mickey Mail as it goes through my TA first!! Can't wait to get mine!! :santa:

Oops! I forgot to say :banana:YAY:banana: for the sleigh ride! I really wish we were doing it. I may see if I can talk the rest of the family into doing it one night. I'd love to do it our first night there, so I may just call at the the last minute and see if they have an open reservation. That would make the cutest picture!

Thanks!! You should see if you can work it out! I've heard nothing but GREAT things about the sleigh rides! But they are booking up fast and there aren't many times left (at least for the dates I was checking on).

a sleigh ride at Disney does sound perfect! :goodvibes

Thanks Julie!! I can't WAIT!! :santa:

Welcome back! :surfweb:

Yeah...no more diapers. :woohoo:

Your plans look great. The sleigh ride sounds really fun. We'll be arriving the day after you and will be at MVMCP on 11/30 too. You have a lot of magical experiences planned for your family. :santa:

Thanks Dana!! I'm so glad to be back!! Oh wow--cool!! Have you ever been around Christmastime before?

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you the outfits that I had made for the girls for our trip! (this is probably one of my favorite parts of planning our trips) I ordered outfits that would work well for layering purposes--I have also bought solid colored long-sleeved shirts and solid colored leggings to layer with these outfits when needed.

Here are the first set of outfits that actually arrived this week! I ordered 3 different pillowcase dresses from seller GiftSewFine on Etsy and was VERY pleased! Her work is beautiful and her prices are GREAT!! She sews the ribbon into the dresses (centers the ribbon and stitches the ribbon down the middle so it doesn't shift or fall completely out--I hope that makes sense). And I couldn't believe how fast I received the dresses! Take a look!!

The next outfit also arrived this week! It is an appliqued Christmas Minnie shirt and skirt from seller AttitudesOfAlicia on Etsy. I was also VERY pleased with this seller. Incredible work and quick shipping as well as including goodie bags for both Ally & Claire as a bonus!

This is Claire's outfit but Ally's is identical--just a larger size!

The next outfit and shirt I ordered is from seller bowsfromgrace on Etsy. I have not received them yet but I found out that this seller lives in the town next to mine so I'm going to pick them up. I ordered a shirt for myself and she offered to bring the shirts by so I could try them on so I know what size to order. I ordered a Mary Poppins outfit for the girls that I just LOVE!! They will wear this the day of our 1900 Park Fare breakfast!

The last thing I ordered was some appliqued Christmas shirts for the girls. I found the design I liked on Etsy and a local friend of mine is making them (Sew Charming Boutique on Facebook--and she has a blog as well). This is what the shirt will look like:

The shirts will be worn with these red/white polka dotted knit pants that I bought a few months ago at Gymboree:

Oh--and I almost forgot!! I wanted to share a watch that I ordered for myself from DisneyStore.com. I LOVE it!! I thought that the band was plastic (like the ones that are so popular right now) but it is actually stainless steel! Much nicer!!

Wow!!! Those are great!! Your girls will look so adorable in those outfits! I love the backs of the Mary Poppins clothes. Great detail!

I forgot to say too...I LOVE that watch!! I am like you, when I saw it over there I had thought the band was plastic. Now, that I hear it is stainless steal its hard not to buy it for myself. Maybe once we get back.

Wow, the outfits are amazing. My favorites are the Mary Poppins ones, so pretty.

All of the outfits are so cute. Just seeing them adds to the excitement of a holiday trip that is getting closer and closer. I sure will miss seeing Disney Christmas decorations this year. I'll look forward to lots of Facebook updates of the girls having fun in Disney World

Becky - I love your outfits! They are great! (And I agree with you...picking out the outfits is always the best part of the trip planning!;))

I also agree that the sleigh ride will be really special! How exciting!!!:goodvibes

Those outfits could not be any cuter!!! Well, they will be once Ally and Claire are wearing them!:cutie: I can't wait to see those pictures. The Mary Poppins outfits are the best!!!! :cloud9: I had to show my husband the pics, telling him that if we had litttle girls, this is exactly what they would be wearing to Disney, he said, good thing we don't! We'd go broke! How true!!!:lmao: Your watch is so cute!!! Can't wait to see more! And your trip is SOOOO CLOSE!! YAY!!!:cheer2:

What cute outfits!! I really love the AK Minnie-- the back is so unusually for a pillowcase dress! The watch is so pretty, too-- love the rhinestones!
