Me too! It's a surprise trip for my dh for his Father's day present - as you can see from my sig, he is a "dark side" fanatic. I'm busting from not telling him! I've made an autograph book for him I hope he'll like to open on father's day. I can't believe George Lucas is going to be there - I hope we will get to see him!

OMG, I just noticed you are from Rochester - that's where my dh is from! We live in the capital region now. Are you staying at POFQ for the star wars convention? I can't believe what a good deal it was.

Oh wow, cue "it's a small world". To be honest, I don't know where we're staying yet in August. I guess I should figure that out, shouldn't I?

Pow Wow is an annual convention for the US Travel Association. Travel Industry reps from all over the world come to learn about US travel destinations. This year's convention was in Orlando, so all the big tourist attractions are trying to put on their best show.

I was there as media for the DIS. Next year's meeting is in San Francisco.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the report. I'll be posting more about the other events I went to too.

I specifically asked what would the plans for Mickey & Minnie's houses were. The Imagineers were very quiet about it. They told me they didn't know the plans yet.

I'm not sure if they don't know or aren't saying.

Thanks so much for sharing! The electrical light parade is one of my absolute favorites. We just got back so didn't get to see it but wouldn't have wanted to miss Wishes either, so it's all good Again, thanks for the wonderful report and the amazing pictures. What a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

That Fairy Float looks awesome, I wish the ELP was sticking around for a while, I'll miss it on my November trip. I did have the pleasure of seeing it at CA, but it didn't have a fairy float.

I'm ashamed to say, I prob would have gotten drunk on all those delish looking cocktails.

I love Princess Leia! Did you see the deal with POFQ? Only $119 a night, including shuttle service to the convention, one ticket for the parks and some star wars goodies. And you can get discount park tix too!

Yup all the rides in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland were open plus the Haunted Mansion. It was the first time I had been in the Magic Kingdom without even stepping on an attraction. There was so much to see and do, pictures to take, food to eat, and Imagineers to talk to, that I just didn't have any time for the rides. However, I was perfectly OK with that.
