We own a GMC Safari, which is the same as a Chevy Astro, that seats 8. This is our 3rd Safari in 8 years(we wear them out!)and we comfortably seated 3 adults and 5 children last week for a 10-hour drive to WDW and back. If you rent one, check with the rental company directly, as they have different seating capacities based on the seat configuration. We have a friend that owns one that has only 1 bench seat and 2 captains chairs up front, seating only 5. Another friend has one that seats 7, with 1 bench seat and 4 captains chairs(which is similar to most minivan layouts). To seat 8 you need 2 bench seats and the captains seats up front. I don't work for Enterprise, but when a 17-year-old hit my van in October, Enterprise was the only rental company that had a Safari. I was not particularly happy with their customer service at all, but in the end her insurance company settled up with them on my rental, and I had their van for almost a month! Enterprise told us their van could not leave the state of NC, but her insurance company knew full well that she hit me 2 days before I was to leave for WDW for 9 days, so I was on the horn setting everyone straight!(LOL) We ended up leaving 2 days later than we had planned to, so I lost 2 days in the parks(and Mickey rarely refunds!)but we did go. Good luck on your quest!
