I am a diabetic so I try to avoid the carbs ..but there I sort of splurge...hahaha..get more then I should ..
Thanks for your reviews ;)

Can you believe I have still never had a cinnamon roll from Main St Bakery. I am definitely, definitely having one on our next trip. And there will be no drama queen antics with stomach-clutching and the like - I intend to eat the whole darn thing ;)

Crystal Palace lunch looked good. We love breakfast there :thumbsup2

And you're going to get a bellyache:rotfl::rolleyes1:sick:

I did! I ate a whole one and the belly ache (amongst other ailments b/c I don't react well to dairy) was TOTALLY WORTH IT! My sons and husband saved their snack credits and got at least 6 of these for our drive home! You should have seen us packed into the SUV, trying to fit all these boxes of massive cinnamon rolls with us! :lmao:

Same here! It looks fantastic!popcorn::

i've never had one either , and I hope with the DDxP I will have enough room to remove yet another " must try" from the list , there seems to be a theme every trip , either pretzles , cookies , last year it was corn dogs and frozen cokes :cloud9:

nice to have you back Pearl !

Thanks for the great reviews so far! I'm getting super excited for my upcoming trip!

I don't usually stop at the Main Street Bakery, but I think that I may have to stop there this summer--that cinnamon bun looks amazing!

Thanks for coming back, Pearl! :thumbsup2

Although I am a full fledged carnivore, I was looking forward to other offerings I wouldn't normally think to get. We will be traveling with a large group in October and not all of them enjoy meat as much as I do. :rolleyes1 It will be great to have a different perspective and possibly offer some advice based on your review.

Hi Pearl,
Yay!! Thanks for coming back. I love your reviews!!!
Thank you!

I didn't even try half of the stuff I thought I wanted. I really wanted a jalapeno cream cheese pretzel! oh well. :)

We've never stopped there either. It was a good breakfast and they really enjoyed that sugary, buttery mess.
Thanks for coming back, Pearl! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I hope I can help with your upcoming trip. :goodvibes
I had a chef come out to speak to me at Tusker House and Sanaa when I was eating vegan. Totally wasn't necessary at Sanaa, since they have an entirely vegan menu, but it was helpful at Tusker House.
It was unnessasary sometimes, but very helpful for others. It was a good experience overall.
Yay!!! Welcome back Pearl. :)
Thanks! I happy to be back. :)
I'm with you on getting things like mashed potatoes on your dessert plate!!! Can't wait to read more!
Gotta love mashed potatoes! Thanks!
welcome back!!!:grouphug:

So glad to see all your wonderful photos and reviews. Crystal Palace looks yummy. I have Boma for breakfast one morning and these photos make me more excited.
Thanks. We had Boma for breakfast once on this trip and I loved it! You'll see my review for that later on. ;)
Some of the stand outs that looked delish are the couscous, broccoli (doesn't look limp and overcooked), and the raspberry cake. I wonder if it is similar to what they have at breakfast?? :confused3 Anyhoo.. it all looks lovely and what a great way to spend a family meal!
That broccoli was perfectly al dente. Loooved it. I'm not sure what they have for breakfast.
Great reviews so far, Pearl... and I'm so glad to see you back! :thumbsup2
Thanks! I'm trying to do good.
Yay! I so wanted to hear the rest of your reviews! We love CP for breakfast but have never eaten lunch or dinner there. Looks like it was ok, but sounds like I'm not missing too much by always doing breakfast!
Yeah, it was good. Just not great. Never had breakfast there though!

It comes highly recommended from both Dad and the drama queen. ::yes:: But good luck!

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Let me know if you remember! Sooo good though. Thanks for reading!

Great review of CP! I am very glad to have you back!
Thanks! I'm happy to be back!

Wow! That is too funny!:lmao: That was one good cinnamon roll.

Thanks Pearl! Sorry there were some insensitive comments...geeesh. As a fellow vegetarian, it's always nice to see what meal options others choose at the World. I feel like I sometimes get stuck in a rut when I travel & frequently eat my stand bys!

My dear son in law who is six foot one and weighs 200 lbs...is a vegan...I try really hard to make sure he has quite a bit to eat..SOoo
When we all went to Disney ..I tried really hard to find restaurants with more vegetarian choices...back then it wasnt as high tech foods as now...BUT one place he loved was Planet Hollywood...they had a portebella mushroom burger...it was HUGE...and he said it was delicious..we did a great deal of buffets so that he could have more choices...he did good ..
Thanks so much for your reviews and the photos

FOUND IT..

fire roasted corn spoon bread...that is it DELICIOUS

Congrats on your graduation---And Happy Birthday!

I am looking forward to reading your reviews.

a Vegan or a vegetarian would get the same chef coming to see her as a person with an allergy...maybe the lady didnt realize this..
That saying..
The review and the photos are awesome...

Came out of "lurkdom" to say I'm happy your back, I'm enjoying your reviews!

I tried that cinnamon roll and wasn't a fan at all, I know,:confused3 !! ;)
I found it too "carmel" tasting, and not "cinnamony" (is that a word??:rotfl: )
enough!!

Great review!
I have to say, you're a girl after my own heart with the mashed potatoes on most of your dessert plates! :goodvibes

Being Scottish with Irish grandparents mean potatoes go with everything!

I didn't read the posts before they were deleted, but I hate when people are mean for no reason! I think it is great when the chefs come out and either take their time explaining the buffet or making a special meal for those with special/restrictive diets whether by choice or by some condition.

Congrats on your graduation!!

That cinna bun looks really good too!

Pearl, enjoying your reviews, keep 'em coming! I love the falafel pita at Mara too, by the pool after a long day at the parks, or take-out on your balcony overlooking a savannah at sunset...ahhh, 20 days and counting!! Jiko at AKL will also go out of their way to find you a great meal.

Not to beat a dead horse (poor form on a veg thread :scared1:), but I'm thinking vegan should be one of the things you can check off when you make your reservation. A lot of dishes use meat stock or fat for flavouring, and only the chef knows, unless it's explicitly advertised as a veg option. Some people wouldn't be fussed if a little animal product slipped through. For others - for ethical or religious reasons - it could be very upsetting.

I've been blown away by Disney's responsiveness. Those chefs can whip up some amazing dishes in no time flat once they find out you're veg - but I imagine they too would rather have a heads up.

I would like to thank all the posters for their kindness and compassion. We have all been educated that the wonderful chefs at WDW will assist diners with meal choices, both to keep them safe and to help them adhere to their dietary choices

Unfortunately, a mistake was made along the way. The 18 yo who was celebrating her grad and her 18th birthday (I am sure) understands how sensitive a subject this can be (and makes some attack a young girl for a mistake her mother made, so proud :sad2:)

I am sure everyone here made the best choices at 18, I know I did

Now lets all enjoy the review complete with food porn!
