A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Hey all,

I had to go to the ER yesterday. I woke up yesterday feeling pretty bad. I felt very nauseated, stomach hurting. The nausea was the worst part. I ended up leaving work after only being there for 2 hours. I came home and tried to rest. But then the vomiting started (sorry). I couldn't hold down water! I just kept throwing up, but there was nothing in my stomach so it was all acid, and eventually yellow bile. I eventually had to call Mike home from work and he took me to the hospital. Well, he drove me to the GI doctor first, because he wanted to insist they give me medicine or something. He is just as upset with them as I am, for letting this get to THAT POINT.

They put in an IV and gave me fluids, phenergan for the nausea, and demerol for the pain. The phenergan didn't help the nausea, so they gave me something else--don't remember what it was called but it worked. I told them about my Gastric Emptying problem, but they insisted on doing x-rays of my stomach, and bloodwork. Those all came back normal. I told the doctor yet AGAIN about my gastric emptying problem, so he looked up the test, then called my GI doctor. He prescribed Reglan (they gave me some through IV first), which will help the gastroparesis (will make my stomach contract like it's supposed to, to digest food), and also wrote an Rx for Lortab and Phenergan, should I need either of those.

I am home right now, but I may go into work in a little bit to put in a half day. I took a Reglan about a half hour before I ate some chicken noodle soup. I still got full pretty fast but I'm assuming that will take some time.

I am feeling okay right now. Thankfully both dogs are resting peacefully on the bed. Chance was whiney earlier, as pups usually are.

I still have my appointment tomorrow at 1:15, and the doctor will explain everything to me about the Reglan, etc. I will check in tomorrow sometime after that.

Thanks for all your prayers and encouragement!

I am ANGRY too at your GI doctor :furious: :furious: Is Mike going with you tomorrow to your appointment? I hope so so that he can take his frustration out on him and let them know how unacceptable that is.

I'm really glad the ER doc took care of you (still ridiculous you had to tell him twice about your emptying problem!)

I'm still praying for you and hoping that you are now FINALLY on the road to getting better.

I hope your hubby goes tomorrow to the DR and chews him up one side and down the other before he spits him out. This is terrible what they are putting you through.:furious: DId you tell the DR how long you have been this sick? It reminds me of what I went through and it just isn't right. I will continue to pray about this.

Michele

Wow Cheri I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like a terrible ordeal. I am so glad you went to the hospital before you dehydrated. That can be very dangeorus. I don't know why the GI doctor didn't do something for you before it got to that point! I never heard of the emptying problem you are referring to. I hope the medications work and you feel better and stay that way. YOu take care of yourself girl!!!

Happy Birthday Girlie!:cool1: :cool1:

Cheri, I'm so sorry you're feeling bad. I can't believe this is still going on! I really hope you get some relief soon.

Can you take Reglan and Phenergan together? I have both of them prescribed to me, but they told me not to take them at the same time. I thought they were both for nausea.
