A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

So it’s now about 2:30 and we just got all checked in. First things first….let’s find our room! Since we paid for a preferred room, we knew we’d be in one of the nearest buildings, and it turned out we were in the one to the left as you exit the main building. Building #6, “Surfs Up”, 3rd floor, room 6341. Let me take a moment to mention that part of our floor was undergoing refurbishment. Luckily, it turned out it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, but it will be mentioned again later on.

Our room was close to the elevator, but not closest to the main building…more like on the other side. But we were fine with its location. We entered the room to find…..

But was it on a king sized bed?

I’ll get to that in a minute! :rotfl:

Here’s the picture on our wall.
Disney2007026.jpg

Sorry about the glare.

I didn’t take pics of the bathroom or vanity area because I figured so many people posts pictures of those and they all look the same in the Value resorts.
But I did step outside to take in the view….
And what did I see? :confused3

Nature….at it’s best…

Look ahead a little to the left:

And pan to the right:

Well, I guess that’s what you get when you stay at a Value. But we weren’t going to be in the room much anyway…after all, we’re at DISNEY WORLD!! :woohoo:

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for….okay, well, not really—but Dan seemed pretty interested. LOL :lmao:

The bed!

And wouldn’t you know it…we were in a handicapped room. The difference is the bathroom is bigger, so you lose a bit of room space. But that didn’t bother us. I suppose I should have specified with Annette when checking in that we wanted one that wasn’t handicapped if available…but I’d assume she’d know that, right? Maybe that’s all they had in the preferred room area. The CM I spoke with a couple weeks ago had told me they had rooms with King beds that were not handicapped at the ASSports…so if someone has stayed in one and can confirm, please let me know.

So back to the fun stuff…I had to decorate the window, although I didn’t do a very good job of it. All I had planned on was putting LGMH’s up. I realized I had forgotten to bring tape, so I had to improvise…..AHA! I brought a small lint roller, so I tore some pieces off of it and used that to stick a few on the window. And I forgot to take a picture! But I ALSO forgot to take them down when we left, SO there’s a chance they may still be there! LOL Can someone who’s going this week stop by room 6341 at the ASSports resort and take a picture for me?

In the meantime, picture if you will, a glass window....got it? Okay, now remember my LGMH picture? Well...picture 3 of them on the glass window, held up by lint roller tape. And there you have it! I seriously didn't put much effort into the window. Maybe next time :confused3

I normally would unpack a little at this point, but since we used DME, we didn’t have our luggage yet. So now, the question is…..when did our luggage arrive? Where did we end up eating? And the question still remains….what park, if any, did we go to? :rolleyes1 (sorry guys/gals, I thought I’d make it that far this time, but hey--like DM says—better a small update than none!:thumbsup2 )

(Oh, I promise the next update will have lots more pics! )

NEXT:Day 1: Part 4--Finally at the park!

might be small update, but it was good. the room looked nice. I liked the view of all the trees.

youse guys appreciates it
:rotfl2:

glad to hear it! Hope you enjoy! I think I'm getting the hang of this! It's very different than the pre-trippie part...and I love it! :goodvibes

Also I finally figured out that I could resize my pictures in photobucket to something that fits a little better. I'm sure it's obvious which ones in this most recent post have been resized. Hopefully I will remember (or rather, have the TIME) to edit the rest of them in the rest of my report. If not, I guess y'all will keep getting a really close-up view of my pearly whites :lmao:

But I'm headin' to bed for now. I still can't shake off these cold symptoms...the cough and drip mainly.

Nite everyone! Hope you all enjoy my update!

If you go to "options" right above the first browse button for pics to be added you can click whatever size you want it to be and it will remain. I have 800 X 600 checked. Mine are all that size. makes it easier.

Good night and thanks for the update.

Good update, like the pics.

I think Big Sky is actually based in Montana. The plane had 1 seat on each side and an open view of the cockpit.

That sounds horrifying. I hate flying and that would have me so nervous.

Even though it was a mini update, it was still good.

Thnkas for giving your readers something:thumbsup2

You really have gotten me wondering what your surprise is.

I have a good guess, but will keep my mouth shut....:goodvibes :goodvibes

sounds really cool. I'm just not used to planes. Guess if I had flown when I was a kid, I wouldn't be as apprehensive about smaller planes. You're lucky to have a Dad who's a Pilot!

oh guess what I have for you?..

most people aren't too used to planes. Being a pilot is a rare hobby these days. I'm glad my dad is one though. It got me used to planes and I have no fear of flying. I like smaller planes much better.

And I wasn't here for the update....sorry...but here's my replys now :thumbsup2

that actualy looks a lot nicer than our room at Pop was. Did you guys have one of the renovated rooms? I think it's good that they're working on that resort. It needs it.

we had a king room at ASSports one year and it was handicap...so I can't confrm for you that there's ones that aren't.

:lmao: I bet housekeeping loved you guys :lmao: I still think it's funny that you used lint roller tape to put up your LGMH's. Very creative, girl! :goodvibes

I didn't hang any so if it makes you feel better you put more effort into it than I did. I wanna bring a white board and stuff to decorate my door next time. That looks like fun to get notes from other disers. ;)

Great update Cheri! We got a handicapped room at POFQ one year when we requested a king too :confused3 Can't wait for more :cool1: BTW...a small update is better than no update ;)

Yeah, so glad you got the king bed, hope you took a pic of the handicapped bathroom, would love to see it. CAn't wait to get our questions answered about what park if any, etc. Thanks for the update, you are right, a small one is better than none!:thumbsup2

Well, well, well! Go on with your bad self :lmao: sneaking an update in after I went to bed! (I couldn't help it! Are you still saying that today? If you weren't, I bet you are now! )

Anyhoo... great update! My thoughts...
1. I like trees ! :thumbsup2
2. Very MacGuyver of you with the lint roller! :thumbsup2
(are you old enough to know who MacGuyver is and did I spell it right?)
3. PPPPLLLLLEEEEEEEEESE tell us the surprise!!! :hyper:

WOW.....it took me two days but I finally read through the entire PTR and the beginning of the TR. It took a while........but it was well worth it!! I can't wait to read the rest! Great work!:thumbsup2

Surfs up was a good location, or room was to the right coming out the main building, next to the laundry place. I was going to say the noise from fixing the pool woke you guys up, but you were on the other side of the building, and I bet you got a renovated room, they were painting all of those and replacing most of the beds and furniture to them while we were there.

I knew you got a King bed, lucky ducks, but our room was still good even though we did not get one.
Your luggage was in your room later that night when you got back, because you ate in the food court, and then went to Epcot, because you wanted to see illuminations. :)

It wasn't bad at all, just very loud inside the cabin.

haha yeah the smaller the plane the louder the engine seems. Just think of how loud it is in a single engine 6 seater. hehe :) we had to YELL to talk and even then you can't hear anything.

I love your short update, seriously. It makes it much easier for me to read it and keep caught up with others' TRs.

Your view is very nice. I have never staying in a value so all I thought you got was obnoxious sites of big everything. I really like the trees. It seems a bit more private.

King beds are great. Someday we'll have to get the kids their own room so we can have a king room. Yeah, someday, right!
