A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

If I HAVE to order it online with "ship site to store" I can get 1% back on Sunshine Rewards! More Disney money :thumbsup2 We get 10% off with Mike's discount--so it's obviously better that way, and I'm hoping they have it. I still need to call. me = slacker

ah Now you're thinking! I say do it that way.....then you can get the $ back from SR :thumbsup2

there ya go! I am trying to do a survey over lunch

:surfweb:

I thought it was sweet too. I have only seen him cry ONE other time in my life, and that was at a funeral a few years back--I was so upset and as I hugged him tightly I told him to never leave me--he had been composed the whole time til I said that and he broke down. I actually felt bad because I made him cry. But I also knew it was because he loved me so much.
That's why it surprises me so much to hear that he cried over the cat.

Wow, I need to stop being so emotional...I made myself cry again.

awww, now that little story made me tear up. Stop it!

Did y'all see those stroller rental increases? went up $5 a day for a single, and $13 a day for a double (bringing them to $15 and $31, respectively)

That double stoller increase is REALLY steep! I thought it should be more cost effective to get a double stroller for 2 kids rather than 2 singles, just like "buying in bulk" The old prices made it so ($10 vs. $18), but not the new ones! Do I think too much? :confused3

I don't have kids and I'm irritated by this. At least if they're going to increase their prices for inflation, do it reasonably. That is just ridiculous!
Is this a late April Fool's joke?

Wow I hadn't seen that. No matter what people will bring strollers. Do you know how frustrating it is to try and see so much and those little short legs just can't keep up ? :lmao: Plus the constant, I'm tired, My legs are tired, Mom, carry me !

But seriously, I think this really sucks for people with more than one kid and really also effects the people with no kids. I can't afford an addtional $13.00 dollars per day so I bring my own stroller. Thus I bring it on the monorail, have to fold it up to get on the tram, and I bring it on the ferry. I know it must be frustrating for people with no kids to have to wait for me to fold it, unfold it, get it on the monorail so it fits etc.

There you are!!! Welcome back to ya!

Bummer about the old PC, but glad you still had your pics on your camera. Big congrats on the new laptop :thumbsup2 And yay for continuing your TR! :cool1:

As far as the external hard drive, I think they are great and I use them both at work and at home. They do occasionally fail though, so be careful. My advice is to use the external HD for day to day storage/modifications, but also burn your pic archive to DVDs so you know you’re covered ;)

I would say for the “teaser” castle pic that you made it in for rope drop – looked like a beautiful morning, but the crowd is light and all moving forward, plus the shadows are still very long.

Hmmm, cute pic of you two – and I see a masked face hovering above Mike and what looks like Jabba the Hut’s face next to his right shoulder – lolol

Awww, sorry to hear about your sister’s cat :( It is tough to lose a family pet.

No, I hadn’t heard about the stroller rental increase – that IS a big jump. Our DDs barely fit into a double in January and I know by the time we get back to WDW DD11 will be too big to fit at all, so maybe they will both be walking.

So, are you waiting for the external HD to get back on your TR? If not, then lets see what fun MK had in store for you two! :yay:

I heard about that too and am also pretty ticked about the increase. I can't believe how outrageous a double stroller is to rent. You're almost better off buying one and bringing it with you. Me and Sharky were talking about it over the weekend.

I know if I did have a kid buying a stroller would be what I'd do. And Chris would become "stroller man" at the end of the day so I wouldn't have to lug it around trying to get back to the car/resort

well it's $27 per day if you rent for multiple days, but you have to pay the total cost up front. Although that's STILL very steep.
I'd buy a stroller too.

Stroller man. :lmao:

ah Now you're thinking! I say do it that way.....then you can get the $ back from SR :thumbsup2

:surfweb:

awww, now that little story made me tear up. Stop it!

you're funny...I always lean towards SR but thinking logically it makes more sense to save MORE money by using Mike's discount in-store. Obviously, that's only if we can actually get it in the store. I just called and they said they only had the one for $150. I asked her what "limited stock" means, and if they had any in the back, when do they deliver, etc. And she said to call back at 7:30 because they unload a truck every night. Basically, if we don't find the same thing cheaper somewhere else, and they don't get it in this week, I'll just order it online.

Sorry I made ya tear up! I made myself tear up, too. I gotta stop that huh?

Wow I hadn't seen that. No matter what people will bring strollers. Do you know how frustrating it is to try and see so much and those little short legs just can't keep up ? :lmao: Plus the constant, I'm tired, My legs are tired, Mom, carry me !

Yeah, bringing your own is the way to go. You really make a good point!
The inconveniene just causes something I call vacation-frustration! When I think about bringing my young kids there someday, I just think of how encumbering it must be to lug around a stroller, and to have to do so much extra and BRING so much extra stuff to the parks. I have a hard enough time figuring out what to bring for myself and Mike. :rotfl: Can you tell I'm nervous about bringing kids to Disney?

:woohoo: :yay: Mustard is here!

Thank you for the tip on the Hard drive. I'll definitely tell Mike that it will be his job to burn the pics onto some DVDs.

hmm...nicely described...but you didn't say if you think we made it in time for rope drop? :confused3

Jabba the Hut...now that's a new one!:lmao:

thanks...she's gonna get a new pet and I'm sure she'll be okay then. :)

sorta...um....maybe I'll have a small update today! ;) but don't quote me on that

Blame Walmart---we were there for over 2 hours, and had I been home during that time I probably could've posted an update. :rotfl2:

The hard drive was not the price it said it was online...SO we were going to buy the 320 gb instead of 500...but the only one they had left looked like it had been returned and we were wary about buying it. You know Walmart just lets people return ANYTHING---even underwear. :sad2:

So we left without one. But lots and lots of groceries. I saved $25 with my coupons! :woohoo:
Too bad you didn't get a hard drive. Tell me you've never returned underwear to WalMart.:lmao: How do you even know that???:rotfl:

I desperately need to go grocery shopping. I'm sitting here starving to death, wasting away to nothing (yeah, like that's gonna happen anytime soon) because I have NO food in my house. Okay, so I have food, just not anything that goes with anything else. You know, I have spaghetti, but no sauce, cheese, but nothing else to make a pizza. Looks like the kids get cereal for dinner. Wait, I don't even have milk.:sad2:
I feel a little silly right now...because I'm crying over my sister's (and mom's)cat. She had to be put to sleep tonight. All of a sudden her back legs seemed paralzed earlier today, she was hurting, and they took her to the vet---who said she had heart disease and that the loss of leg function was probably due to a blood clot. The vet recommended she be euthanized, and the only other option would be a costly treatment (around $3000) and it wasn't even guaranteed to work.

My sister was at work when all this was going on, so Bootsie was on oxygen at the vet til she got off, and they had to break the news to her when she got home. She wasn't a childhood cat of mine, but when my sister called me sobbing after they left the vet, I broke down. It was so sad hearing her so upset. Now she's on IM and got me bawling again.

That's the hard part about owning pets...you get so attached, and then...they're gone. I'm glad I got to see her this past weekend...she was a very sweet cat, and I'm more of a dog lover myself. I just hate to think that when I go over there, she won't be there anymore. :sad2:
Aww, so sorry about your sister's cat. Give her a hug for me.

OMG, are they the new gas powered strollers?? Maybe they come with Mary Poppins to push it for you? If there's one thing I do NOT miss, its having to lug around strollers and diaper bags, and doing the whole car seat thing. I loved having babies, but its a lot more fun now that my kids are older and a little more self sufficient.

Too bad you didn't get a hard drive. Tell me you've never returned underwear to WalMart.:lmao: How do you even know that???:rotfl:

:lmao: I never have, I have just heard of people doing it. :scared:

That was why we spent so much time (and money) last night. I was making a list gradually during the day as I thought of things we needed. In addition to a LOT of food, I needed shout spray, DD batteries, Mike's deodorant, paper towels, 409, garbage bags, other things not to be named:lmao: ....it all adds up!

I think they are hybrids! ;)

Can I just fast forward from the cutsie baby stage to the self-sufficient in DisneyWorld stage? :confused3

That's a relief!:lmao:

Now you have me wondering just what it was you needed DD batteries for.:scratchin Other things not to be named? Since when do they sell that stuff at WalMart? Or am I way off?

The cutsie baby stage is when you'll be lugging the most crap around.:lmao:

you really made me laugh.

Oh hey...watch out for my next post!!!!! something we haven't seen in quite some time...

I woke up to Stitch’s wake up call at 6:45 AM. I knew Mike wouldn’t take as long as me to get ready, so I decided to let him sleep. After I was ready, he was still snoozing away, so I pulled the covers off of him, and he made a grunt. I knew this wouldn’t be easy. He fought with me (I'll already be used to this when I have children) and finally arose at 7:30.
I got a milk(1 snack credit), filled my mug with coffee (Tat, I don’t think it tastes like mud. LOL) and brought it back to the room, where I poured it into my convenient to-go cup.
Disney005.jpg

I’m sure we ate some cereal…and/or a donut from the dozen we got at the gift shop.
I won’t give all these details every day, but I would like to point out, the disposable coffee cups really came in handy. We walked to the bus stop, and not even 2 minutes later, there was the bus for MK! We were very pleased with our timing, as I had hoped to make it to my first MK rope drop!
Ooh ooh, did we make it?
Obligatory castle pic…first one of the trip!
Disney2007059.jpg

“Mike, would you get a picture of my backpack with my LGMH on it?”
Disney2007060.jpg

…And he gets a blurry butt-shot (with my bra strap all twisted—yes I wore a tank top with a bra that day, don’t care if it’s tacky  ). I was hoping for something a little different. BUT…notice the bright lime green shirt I wore like a good little DISer.
Disney2007062-1.jpg
Looks like I’m closing my eyes. (why didn’t I have my sunglasses on? Silly me!)
And guess what….we made it early for rope drop! Went to the rope at Tomorrowland, and no one was there :confused3 So we went walking around a bit.
Saw these guys
Disney2007063-1.jpg
They were playing a game of “hide the ball” with the children, so cute! At one point the ball ended up under tigger’s tail and he didn’t know where it was.
We walked around Fantasyland some more and saw
Disney2007065-1.jpg

Disney2007066-1.jpg

She really is so proper. Beautiful, too. She was reading “Little Miss Muffet” and having that little girl and her mom act it out. It was really cute to watch. I had just never seen this stuff going on in the morning before. However, it was getting close to 9:00 so we had to go line up at the rope. :woohoo:

There were only 2 other families there so far. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of this (guess I was caught up in the moment) We all chatted and it helped to kill time, but it still felt like we were waiting forever! Is it crazy that I remember exactly what we talked about? (Mardi Gras)
More cast members came out, and that built my excitement. 5 minutes later, we were off…to Space Mountain!
Disney2007067.jpg

Not much time to take pics as we bolted in with everyone else, but Mike managed another butt shot. SM is so much fun in the morning! Who am I kidding, it’s fun all the time!
Next, it was time for
Disney2007069.jpg
(actually we got a FP for later)
and
Disney2007068.jpg

We REALLY enjoyed this show. None of my jokes got picked but I was determined to try again later!
Disney2007070.jpg

Mike wore the LGMH I made proudly. It was his idea to put it there. Awww...Good job babe! :lovestruc
Disney2007071.jpg

Do y’all notice a pattern here, or what?

Disney2007072.jpg

The astro orbitor was closed but we got a pic.

Disney2007073.jpg

I forgot to mention, Mike bought me those tinkerbell earrings the night before as a surprise.

Mike spotted his first penny pressing machine of the day
P9160075.jpg

(I told you, hon, I’m taking pictures of everything when I have the camera!)

I’ll have to take a picture of all his pennies and post them on this thread at some point. Don't let me forget!

Didn’t take long for our FP time to arrive.
Disney2007076.jpg

Disney2007078.jpg

Disney2007079.jpg

proud of my crappy score. LOL
Disney2007080.jpg

Because I won! :rotfl2:
We tried to redneck our photo and it came out like this:
Disney2007081.jpg

Just how do people do it? Tell me your secrets.

Next up…Frontierland and more terribly red-necked pictures!

NEXT:Day 2: Part 2--Lost in Frontierland? (now with less butt shots!)

:rotfl2: the DD batteries are for the SMOKE DETECTORS.

you really made me laugh.

Oh hey...watch out for my next post!!!!! something we haven't seen in quite some time...
Those must be some BIG smoke detectors!!

Could it be...an UPDATE???

It IS an update!!:cool1:

you got it! :thumbsup2

6:45???!!! You crazy woman! So, I see it takes you 45 minutes to get ready...how long does it take Mike?

It does TOO taste like mud!

Okay, maybe I'm just spoiled by Starbucks and Caribou Coffee.

depends on the morning...but yeah, that's how long it took me. By the time I got back from the foot court, he was pretty much ready. Not too long.
We tried to take our showers at night.

I LOVE Starbucks  but I get capuccinos and stuff. I tend to not like strong coffee, I like mine on the weak side, with creamer. I like it to look light and pretty.

I'm hoping to make it to my first rope drop in September. We'll just have to wait and see if it happens.

Hey...nice butt...I mean backpack!

Good luck! I think you have a better chance now that you-know-who won't be with ya :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

thanks!

I wear my tank top with a bra all the time. I would hate to see the consequences if I didn't. I would be tripping over my own...yeah those. So, yeah, I'm tacky, too. Nice lime green shirt. Yes, why didn't you have your sunglasses on? Could you not find them again?

Wow, you got a lot done before 9:00! How cute about Mary Poppins reading.

good...I don't feel so bad now. I am sure I had to have fixed that bra strap later but it's driving me nuts in those pics! Guess I didn't notice because I was having so much fun!

yeah, Mike must've been ready really quickly, or else that clock in the room was fast. I don't know how we had all that time even after taking the bus to MK. That may have been the morning he didn't eat breakfast, just took some dry froot loops on the bus

You look like you were making a MAD DASH for Space Mountain!

OOOHHH! I've never done Monsters Inc. Its on my must do list for Sept.

:rotfl2: He just likes your butt!

of course! :goodvibes

It's great! I want to go several times, til they use one of my jokes. Could be a while.

Yeah, seems to be that way. Hmm...I have an idea now.

Those are ADORABLE!!!

Ok!

Okay, so it looks like you got 88,888 and Mike got 18,888. Am I close?

I've always wondered that, too.

Can't wait!

Thanks! I haven't worn any like that (with the 3 pieces) since I was a little girl! It really brought me back...

Actually if you look closely it was 88,800 vs. 18,600. It's hard to tell with the camera but you can just barely see the difference in color (the glare caused the background to glow white whereas the part that is really lit up is yellowish)

:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for your update!

Great pics! Even if half of them were of your behind! :rotfl:

What a sport Mike is to wear a LGMH!

thanks!

hehe...thankfully he didn't continue that every day. He just must like those shorts on me.

Yup...he actually ripped that one right off my window in the morning. :rotfl: I didn't complain because I was just shocked he wanted to wear one. Found a CM in the lobby to staple it onto his bag strap. It got pretty messed up by the end though. (it wasn't a laminated one)

Great update Cheri!! so glad to see you back on the ball :woohoo:

I still love that back pack. You look so cute in your green tank top. I wear my bra like that too with a tank top. ;) ah well.

I laughed at the "yet another butt shot" :rotfl: silly Mike.

:yay: Mike got on board and wore a LGMH! You might have yourself a future DISer after all! :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous that you got to ride SM first thing in the morning! My ride that September wasn't as enjoyable :lmao:

Very cute picture of the two of you. Love the self couple pictures :thumbsup2

Now tell me your secret to beating Mike on Buzz! I always lose. :worship:

Yay, you have started with your updates!!

First up, your new avatar is adorable:goodvibes

Love all the shot in MK....such a pretty picture of the castle

Butt shots:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mary Poppins is one of my favs:lovestruc

yay for winning on Buzz:thumbsup2

thanks! you never saw his LGMH? Maybe it had started to deteriorate by then and he had taken it off. :confused3

I forgot to mention I rode in the front! After only a 3 min wait, too. Was so awesome! Maybe you'll get to do the same this Sept. Isn't it nice to have these little goals for your next trip? :goodvibes

thanks...I thought we took a pretty good one, too.

Uhh...he's not as good as me :confused3 :rotfl: I got some kind of bonus once when I rode in '06 and was in the 3rd best category (I don't remember how many points that is--anyone know?) That was from hitting the moving targets, and the big Zorg thing, or whatever it is. It was all luck for me! But hope that helps you beat Chris once and for all.
By the way, I'm looking at my notes and I was wrong about Mike's total (unless this is from the 2nd time we rode)--Now I'm thinking it cleared too early because I have 12,800 written down. Sorry, memory's a little fuzzy about it since we rode a couple times.

Yay, you have started with your updates!!

First up, your new avatar is adorable:goodvibes

Love all the shot in MK....such a pretty picture of the castle

Butt shots:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mary Poppins is one of my favs:lovestruc

yay for winning on Buzz:thumbsup2

thanks!

thanks again!

:rotfl2: I know right?

:yay: go me!

okay now I'm thinking I was right the first time with my Buzz scores, after lookin' at the pic again. I think what I wrote down was from the 2nd time around, because his score disappeared before we got the pic. I think we walked right back on to Buzz and rode again.

I'm tired and I need to stop thinking and go to bed :cloud9:

Hostel's on tv...ewwww

I almost forgot a VERY important update!! We ordered the external hard drive we were looking at at Walmart.com this evening, having it shipped to the store so we get free shipping, also found out we can use his discount online (he never told me that before), and I am getting $1.15 through Sunshine Rewards as well as $1.00 on my Disney Rewards card. So we saved just as much money as in store, AND I maximized my perks towards WDW! A win, win, win situation!! :woohoo:

I'll let y'all know when it arrives.

her cheri, nice update, you have to zoom in on the photo and make sure to hold your camera really steady...that is all tha i do and they usually turn out fine.

nice earings.

thanks! you never saw his LGMH? Maybe it had started to deteriorate by then and he had taken it off. :confused3

I forgot to mention I rode in the front! After only a 3 min wait, too. Was so awesome! Maybe you'll get to do the same this Sept. Isn't it nice to have these little goals for your next trip? :goodvibes

I did, I was just playing dumb :rotfl:

:woohoo: for getting to ride in front!! I got to ride in front too when I went to MK last month! It was awesome....and the ride operator gave me a compliment on my civic t-shirt! :thumbsup2

Wow!! Lucky duck on the Buzz ride. Maybe we should ride that one together this year once and You and Chris can ride in the same car and see who wins. Us losers will share a car and maybe one of us will finally be able to win :rotfl: You and Chris are just too good at that ride.

It's all good. No fret. I got my stories and pictures mixed up on my TR and I didn't have nearly as much time to forget things as you have. I think you're doing pretty good on your memory :thumbsup2
