A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Nope, I'm leaving on the 14th after lunch time! Joys of driving and having all night to get home!

oh alrighty. Is the plan to meet on the evening of the 13th then? I don't know what time we'll be in yet...not til we book our flight which could be awhile

Idk. All i know was that we were talking about the 13th since that was everyones whateverish (<--- new:3dglasses word) day.

I feel a little silly right now...because I'm crying over my sister's (and mom's)cat. She had to be put to sleep tonight. All of a sudden her back legs seemed paralzed earlier today, she was hurting, and they took her to the vet---who said she had heart disease and that the loss of leg function was probably due to a blood clot. The vet recommended she be euthanized, and the only other option would be a costly treatment (around $3000) and it wasn't even guaranteed to work.

My sister was at work when all this was going on, so Bootsie was on oxygen at the vet til she got off, and they had to break the news to her when she got home. She wasn't a childhood cat of mine, but when my sister called me sobbing after they left the vet, I broke down. It was so sad hearing her so upset. Now she's on IM and got me bawling again.

That's the hard part about owning pets...you get so attached, and then...they're gone. I'm glad I got to see her this past weekend...she was a very sweet cat, and I'm more of a dog lover myself. I just hate to think that when I go over there, she won't be there anymore. :sad2:

I'm so sorry. :sad1: Trust me, I know exactly how it feels to lose a pet. You get so close to them it's crazy. Give your sister a  for me.

Sounds like my or should I say my dads wennie dog. She got bumped by a car when she was about 9 months old, and although she was only really bruised (didn't realize it at the time since she was limping around), mom was going to take her to the vet. She asked my dad what the price limit was on getting her fixed up. (Side note: He always calls the dog stupid and such, but in the evening when he comes home, the first thing he is pick her up and acts like a new daddy with his baby.) He told my mom $5,000 was her limit on getting the dog fixed up.

If anything happened to that dog, I don't know what my daddy would do, but I know I'd be upset and crying just cause he was upset. Like you with your sis!

thanks...been talking to her this whole time and she keeps making me cry. Now my nose is completely stopped up..ugh

well my dad has always been one not to spend any money on animals...he's worked hard to provide for his family and he doesn't consider pets family.
Although he admitted today that he'd really miss her. I was glad he was willing to pay to keep her on the oxygen until my sister came home. She is very upset they didn't call her at work b/c she would have gone to the vet sooner and "spent a little time" with Bootsie first. That made me feel bad, because when they told me about it, I contemplated calling her but I didn't. They told me she wouldn't have been able to come home (she's a waitress at Italian Pie) but she said they had an hour and 1/2 lull this afternoon.

umm...just a person? A ghost? I don't know...I was actually wondering whether there was someone REALLY there standing next to the table, and the smoke was so thick that I couldn't tell. I wish I could point to the picture and show you.

ah so you were just checking to make sure you weren't crazy? :rotfl:

The hard drive was not the price it said it was online...SO we were going to buy the 320 gb instead of 500...but the only one they had left looked like it had been returned and we were wary about buying it. You know Walmart just lets people return ANYTHING---even underwear. :sad2:

So we left without one. But lots and lots of groceries. I saved $25 with my coupons! :woohoo:

Bummer on the hard drive :( But I understand why you didn't buy the one that looked like it had been returned. I shy away from items like that as well. Hope you have better luck next time.

:yay: on saving $25 with coupons

I'm so sorry about your sister's cat :sad2: That is so sad! It is hard to hear a loved one so upset too. That really sucks! If you need anything you know how to get ahold of me!

yea pretty much! :thumbsup2

(but apparently I am because no one saw the same thing I did :confused3 )

yeah, it stinks. I was really hoping to come home with one last night. Although we were pretty late getting home anyway. It's going to take forever to transfer all those pics from my camera. I plugged it into the laptop just to look at them last night. It took a while for my computer to pull them all up. I couldn't resist saving a couple (the new tink shirt) to my computer after going through all that. Okay, so that was the reason I did it...ya got me! :confused3

:yay: on saving $25 with coupons

:woohoo: I know! I'm good right? ;) We also saved another $14 with Mike's discount.

thanks... I'm sure my sister's pretty torn up. She told me she didn't feel like going to work today, but that she wasn't going to call in. I told her that if she tells her coworkers what's going on, I'm sure they'll try to cheer her up. Sitting at home thinking about it probably wouldn't help anyway. I think I'd want to be at work if the same thing happened to me.

Cheri! I love your new avatar! I miss the old figment ride :guilty:

thanks! I took that picture yesterday of my most FAVORITE stuffed animal and I forgot to say in my last post, that was a big reason for me plugging my camera to my laptop last night. I needed a new avatar! (notice the lime green background...it's the Tink shirt, LOL)
I've had that Figment since I was a baby, as well as Chip and Dale, and Space Minnie and Mickey. They are probably worth something by now, but they're worth SO much more to me! :lovestruc

I seek out Chip and Dale EVERY time I go to Disney...(Garden Grill was pretty cool...gonna get to that at some point in this report ;))

I only just lately realized that Figment had a meet-n-greet...I want to try and see him in Sept!

Seems like we all saw something different. Maybe we're all crazy :rotfl:

Ah I'm sure finally seeing those pictures after so many months was nice. The Hard Drive will probably make the picture transfer faster. It does on my laptop anyways.

Yup, you are :thumbsup2 Yay for saving more $ with Mike's discount! :yay:

Yeah, she's better off going to work today. Even when my sister passed away my family went straight back to "normal" activities. We were basically zombies performing functions but sitting around just thinking about my sister and crying about it days on end wouldn't have helped anything. Your sister is very mature to make the decision to not sit at home and sulk. Tell her I am proud of her and the pain will get easier to deal with.

I love your new avatar too! Glad you got a new one. The I heart dis thing was totally throwing me off.

Did you get your FD stuff done thi morning or do you have to wait till thusday with the rest of us?

 Well...I have a Chase Disney Visa, but I wasn't waiting on it because I already have free dining (Carla does too) because I booked the bounceback offer last year. The only reason we were able to go is because we are getting free dining. Thank God for free dining! :worship:

yes we are all nuts! :hyper: :crazy2: :hyper: :crazy2:

I do hope it transfers more quickly to my hard drive. According to WalMart's website, when I did a zipcode search it said our store had "limited stock" but didn't say it was "out of stock"
Just so everyone knows what I'm talking about,
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8070371
Oh wait, that probably won't work now that I think about it. Darnit!

It's Western Digital brand 500 gb 2.0 hard drive for $118. Not bad. The 320 that we saw(the opened box) was $96.00. Might as well just get the bigger one.

I might call the electronics department today and ask them to look for one. If they have it, I'm going to get it.

Every time I save money, I think about how much more goes towards my Disney vacation! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about the zombie thing. I've lost several aunts and uncles, and it's just never easy, but you have to keep moving. Of course, pets are different but they become so much a part of our family and we just miss them being around. I think that getting a new pet will really help her (of course, I reminded her that we can go through many pets in our lifetime because of our varying life spans, so this won't be the last time she deals with the loss of a pet)

Oh, one more thing about that--I was talking to my mom, and she said my dad actually cried too. I was really shocked. He told her that he could never understand before why his mom was so distraught when she lost her chihuahua that she had for YEARS. And now he completely understands.
I think this might have completely changed my dad's feelings towards pets.

I'm glad you like my AVATAR! That one was throwing me off, too, but I still had a Halloween pumpkin when I came back from no-computer-land so I had to hurry up and change it as a quick fix. Now I've got what I want. :thumbsup2

:woohoo: :woohoo: Plus all those SR credits you're racking up. Maybe I'll do some of that today while it's quiet.

Yes, us pet lovers go through a lot of loss in our life times...especially if we've grown up with pets. But it's very rewarding when they are alive and able to spend time with you. I dread the day I have to put one of my 4 dogs to sleep.

Wow, your Dad cried?? That is so sweet! That's great that he finally understand why his mom was so upset at the loss of her dog that she had for so long. They all have personalities so they really do become a part of the family and it's hard to not get attached. No matter how hard headed you are. I'm glad he's finally come around. :thumbsup2

I am definitely :worship: to free dining. Joys of moving out and buying a house of our own this past summer! I will def. take advantage of bounceback if its offered in Sept.

I have one very similar to that but mine has a green circle in the front. I love it!

Did y'all see those stroller rental increases? went up $5 a day for a single, and $13 a day for a double (bringing them to $15 and $31, respectively)

That double stoller increase is REALLY steep! I thought it should be more cost effective to get a double stroller for 2 kids rather than 2 singles, just like "buying in bulk" The old prices made it so ($10 vs. $18), but not the new ones! Do I think too much? :confused3

I don't have kids and I'm irritated by this. At least if they're going to increase their prices for inflation, do it reasonably. That is just ridiculous!
Is this a late April Fool's joke?

::yes:: :worship:

The link works for me. Hope Walmart is able to locate one for ya!

If I HAVE to order it online with "ship site to store" I can get 1% back on Sunshine Rewards! More Disney money :thumbsup2 We get 10% off with Mike's discount--so it's obviously better that way, and I'm hoping they have it. I still need to call. me = slacker

:woohoo: :woohoo: Plus all those SR credits you're racking up. Maybe I'll do some of that today while it's quiet.

there ya go! I am trying to do a survey over lunch

I thought it was sweet too. I have only seen him cry ONE other time in my life, and that was at a funeral a few years back--I was so upset and as I hugged him tightly I told him to never leave me--he had been composed the whole time til I said that and he broke down. I actually felt bad because I made him cry. But I also knew it was because he loved me so much.
That's why it surprises me so much to hear that he cried over the cat.

Wow, I need to stop being so emotional...I made myself cry again.

I am definitely :worship: to free dining. Joys of moving out and buying a house of our own this past summer! I will def. take advantage of bounceback if its offered in Sept.

congrats! I don't blame you. I'm not sure if we'll do it this time because I will probably be in grad school. (I need to get to it...if I start now I will have to miss class THIS year while I'm at WDW though, but I don't mind ;))

I have one very similar to that but mine has a green circle in the front. I love it!

cool...I hope we can get it and that we're happy with its performance.

I heard about that too and am also pretty ticked about the increase. I can't believe how outrageous a double stroller is to rent. You're almost better off buying one and bringing it with you. Me and Sharky were talking about it over the weekend.

I know if I did have a kid buying a stroller would be what I'd do. And Chris would become "stroller man" at the end of the day so I wouldn't have to lug it around trying to get back to the car/resort
