A trip of Lost Things - A Sept 2013 Trip Report New Updates X6!! 2/28

Great TR so far! I can't wait to read the rest. I'm completely impressed that you managed to fool your kids as long as you did! That took some skill!

You got a TON done on your first day! And as for Thunder Mountain in the Rain... you're evil. LOL!!!

Great TR so far! I can't wait to read the rest. I'm completely impressed that you managed to fool your kids as long as you did! That took some skill!

You got a TON done on your first day! And as for Thunder Mountain in the Rain... you're evil. LOL!!!

Welcome welcome! (Yay people! :P)

I was impressed too honestly! lol They were absolutely convinced that we were just passing through Florida and picked Old Key West to stay the night. I still need to look at the video from the surprise and post it. Soonish?

Our first day nearly broke the adults! But the kids were absolute troopers. I don't know how they did it honestly! It was nice that the longest lines we waited in all day were to eat at BoG and Ariel's grotto. September is the way to go!

Day 3, Part 1 - Hollywood Studios

Despite being exhausted from the Magic Kingdom, we set our alarms to be up for extra magic hours at Hollywood Studios. It wasn't until we actually got there that we realized Robby's missing room card might be a problem!

DSC_5182 by camimh, on Flickr

By sheer luck or a smattering of pixie dust, the person passing us through the gate didn't even check his. I assume they saw all of us together and he was with one of the kids and just moved him along. It may have helped that at the same time we were having an issue with Inara's finger print scan on her card and we got moved over to a CM with a tablet and hand scanner of some sort. Because we had military tickets, it didn't distinguish adult and child and two of the three kids had to get their fingers scanned the day before like the rest of us. Well Inara (and whichever adult was escorting her at the time) couldn't actually remember which finger she'd used and couldn't get past the scanner this time! The tablet CM reset the scan and Robby used his own finger for it this time at their suggestion (remember this).

Anyway, finally beyond the gate - we handed all our cards to Robby and sent him with directions to Toy Story Mania while we headed for the Jedi Training Academy sign ups - which I couldn't find.

DSC_5185 by camimh, on Flickr

Finally we found the building and signed Inara and Jadzia up - Anya said she didn't want to do it. It was 8:25 by the time we had our spots and by then Robby had our TSM FPs too.

DSC_5186 by camimh, on Flickr

We all met up again in front of Star Tours because - well we're giant geeks honestly.

My Star Wars lovin' hubby was in heaven!

Darth Vader attempted to stop us to obtain our Rebel Spy but we escaped to Hoth. Which, of course, wasn't much of an escape seeing as we teetered on edge of a cliff and skirted away from total annihilation. After a brief encouraging word from Master Yoda we ended up in a fight with famed bounty hunter Boba Fett!

It was a thrilling ride!

In Tatootine Traders, Robby had money burning a hole in his pocket and so many Star Wars things to buy!

He picked up this, in which I discovered my husband would look a bit like Luke Skywalker if he had hair. And he bought R2-D2 Mickey ears because again, giant geek.

DSC_5206 by camimh, on Flickr

Grandma got bored of shopping so she said she was taking the kids on "the Muppet ride around the corner." So we meandered on over there and then it occurred to me the "Muppet ride" was not exactly a quickie.

DSC_5207 by camimh, on Flickr

While we were sitting by the fountain waiting, Grandma Goofy (who had been shopping with us) realized she'd lost pretty much every important plastic card she had on hand. Did I mention the lost things?

She ran back to Star Tours, the only ride we'd been on, to investigate the disappearance and at some point Robby had left to do something - leaving me to look at the fountain.

DSC_5212 by camimh, on Flickr

After he returned, I took a morning stroll through NYC and San Francisco (because I'm talented like that)

DSC_5215 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5221 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5224 by camimh, on Flickr

Grandma Goofy returned with all but two of the important cards - apparently those had escaped down an air conditioning shaft under her seat and were never seen again. By the time Grandma and the girls came out of the Muppets, Goofy was making a few calls to cancel some cards just in case.

We headed back toward Star Tours because I wanted these pictures...

DSC_5233 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5237 by camimh, on Flickr

And then started making our way toward TSM since our FP return time was 9:55. We weren't in a mad rush but we needed to get on and off TSM quickly in order to get back over to Jedi Academy by 10:30.

We got there a few minutes early and sat down to wait while Grandma Goofy was still on the phone dealing with her Lost Things.

Because I couldn't resist...

Day 3, Part 2 - Hollywood Studios

Five minutes before our FP return time, we approached the line (FTR Robby had been told this should be fine or we would have waited) and we were allowed into the queue. The FP queue was only about 10-15 minutes and Robby spanked all our butts, not too surprisingly...

*Note: I want a giant Etch-a-Sketch in my house! I'd never get anything done but think of the fun?! lol

After we were off the ride, we had to make our way back to the Jedi Academy to meet our 10:30 call time. Look, a random picture of the side of a building while we walked (it was 10:17 now)

DSC_5279 by camimh, on Flickr

Back at the Academy, we handed our young padawans into the hands of the Jedi Masters and bid them well. I think Anya started to regret not signing up just a little bit as her sisters got fitted for robes.

DSC_5281 by camimh, on Flickr

My two padawans

DSC_5283 by camimh, on Flickr

And then we went to take up our spots around the stage. For what it's worth - an 11 o'clock time slot puts the stage and audience in very harsh and direct sunlight so...avoid it. lol

Time for the show.

That seems like a good one to stop on, since I'm about to hit my limit. It should be noted that my hubby feels that "12 years mentally" should count so he could fight Darth Vader too...he was very sad.

Up next: More Darth and other terrifying things.

Defeating the Dark Side was followed by a demand for rides so naturally we went to the Tower of Terror! Now if you remember from the introductions, I told you that Anya hated motion like that as a baby. She was scream and cry when we even approached an elevator and then sobbed during the ride. So as we approached the tower, we explained exactly what the ride entailed and asked her if she wanted to try it...

DSC_5514 by camimh, on Flickr

She said she did...

DSC_5522 by camimh, on Flickr

So, of course, I explained again just to be really sure...

DSC_5527 by camimh, on Flickr

She still wanted to ride so we hopped in the queue an began our trip through the hotel.

DSC_5528 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5530 by camimh, on Flickr

Oddly enough it was Jadzia who disliked the ride! She was clutching the side of the elevator so hard the whole time with her eyes squeezed shut.

DSC_5531 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5533 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5534 by camimh, on Flickr

At one point I reached over to reassure her and let go of my camera (which was around my neck) thinking we were NOT about to drop. Naturally we did at that moment and my camera started to free float!

DSC_5539 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5540 by camimh, on Flickr

Anya, on the other hand, LOVED IT and still talks about it like it was the best ride ever. The only part she didn't like was the pre-show.

DSC_5545 by camimh, on Flickr

After the Tower, we hit up some quick service for lunch and Jadzia realized she'd lost her sunglasses at some point. (Why yes! Another one falls victim to the Lost Things epidemic!) My mom had gone off to the bathroom so I left the other two with Robby while Jadzia and I returned to the Tower to see if we could track them down. After a couple CM redirects, someone went into wherever they have the Lost and Found and the other prepared to check the elevator itself. Near as I can figure, Jadzia had the glasses hooked on her shirt collar when we rode and they free floated during the ride. And then landed on the floor of the elevator I assume.

The glasses were found and returned safely and we made our way back to the rest of our party. Where Grandma, upon hearing of the lost glasses, had gone off shopping for a new pair. So now Jadzia has two pairs of Tinkerbell sunglasses. lol My mom was sure there was no chance we'd find them.

Up next: A whole post for Beauty and the Beast

Day 3, Part 4 - Hollywood Studios

After lunch we hurried over to the Beauty and the Beast show...and that's about all the words for this post because pictures are all that's needed.

Up next: more of the Studios, and Characterpalooza!

Day 3, Part 5 - Hollywood Studios

After Beauty and the Beast, a couple of us wanted to ride Rockin' Roller Coaster but, of course, not all of the kids were tall enough. So Grandma, Robby, Jadzia and I went to see some Aerosmith while Grandma Goofy took the other two to get their face painted...

DSC_5819 by camimh, on Flickr

Somewhere during the morning they'd all been promised a face painting which, honestly, seemed like a bad idea since they'd sweat it all off pretty fast but Grandmas will be grandmas. lol

DSC_5822 by camimh, on Flickr

Jadzia LOVED the ride (far more than Tower of Terror) and would have ridden it again immediately if that was an option. So would I to be fair. lol Instead we needed to track down the others because Jadzia still needed her face painted.

Strolling along scenery pictures, I loooove the bundles of balloons.

DSC_5823 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5827 by camimh, on Flickr

After an volley of text messages, we finally caught up to Grandma Goofy and the other littles...and they had balloons in tow. As cute as they are in a bundle - those balloons are honestly a right pain in the butt!

DSC_5833 by camimh, on Flickr

You see, all of my kids are beyond the stroller age - which is where every single CM suggested we tie said balloons before entering an attraction or shop. *headdesk* Heading into the Little Mermaid show (which was a huge disappointment, seriously what happened to 90% of the story?), we handed the balloons off to one of the CMs to hold...

DSC_5836 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5841 by camimh, on Flickr

After the show, we returned to the front to retrieve our balloon and a CM being silly, jumped and busted one on the ceiling (or ceiling fan? Honestly I don't know what happened but the clear outer balloon busted). They gave us a voucher for a replacement and Robby when in search of vendor while the rest of us went in search of face painting for Jadzia.

DSC_5847 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5849 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5860 by camimh, on Flickr

Within half an hour Inara and Anya's were a great big smudgy mess. By now, in the heat of the day and following the balloon incident, tensions were a bit high. We wanted to go into One Man's Dream but again...the balloons...

So I sent Robby and Grandma Goofy in while my mom, the girls and I went in search of some monsters. They were on break but due out soon so we hopped in line and waited for a few minutes.

DSC_5869 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5871 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5876 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5880 by camimh, on Flickr

Afterwards, we met back up at the giant six pack of coke. At this point I had two things I wanted to try to accomplish - 1) Characterpalooza. I knew it was happening at 4:30 today and wanted to do it before 2) heading over to Epcot for our ADRs at 6. Since we had a few minutes to kill before the Characters - we split up once more and Grandma took Anya shopping while the rest of us returned to Star Tours. We went to Hoth AGAIN and evaded Boba Fett AGAIN and left feeling like we'd repeated history but still enjoying the ride. (Though seriously?! lol)

My mom wasn't answering her phone so we walked down the Streets of America and took a seat on the shady steps of some building while we waited for either Characters or Grandma to respond. Grandma came first, baring frozen lemonade treats for all. Then I spotted the Green Army Men...

DSC_5888 by camimh, on Flickr

As much as I would have loved autographs of all the characters we saw - I wanted to greet at many as possible so just pictures.

DSC_5898 by camimh, on Flickr

As it turned out, we'd see her later on and get her autograph.

DSC_5916 by camimh, on Flickr

Her's too, but no Meeko.

DSC_5937 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5940 by camimh, on Flickr

Captain Hook, Pinocchio and Gepetto, Minnie Mouse and ... someone?? ... were all out but we ran out of time to meet them all and we needed to get moving. We had a boat to catch...

DSC_5949 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5950 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5952 by camimh, on Flickr

Blasted balloons lol

On the way to the Friendship Boat, someone coming off of it dusted us with these FPs for Soarin'. Later we'd dust someone else with them because we didn't have enough time to use them (and there were 7 of us and 3 FPs.)

DSC_5956 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_5958 by camimh, on Flickr

So the Friendship Boat it great, in theory, but it was hot and sticky with no airflow. Lesson learned there..

Day 3, Part 6 - Epcot

We spent most of the day at DHS of course but had ADRs at Akershus in Epcot. Originally I'd chosen Akershus as an alternative to Cinderella's Table since there was no chance of a reservation there! And then I did get one but, well I wanted to meet Belle...so I refused to give up Akershus.

DSC_6020 by camimh, on Flickr

We stopped in the nearest restroom after exiting the boat to clean up and Princess-ify the girls. Anya and Inara's icky mess of face paint came off but Jadzia's was still looking great so she kept hers. Then we had to run around the world - in part because we were cutting it close and in part because rain clouds were looming above us. Anya's shoes wouldn't stay on so Daddy carried her barefoot.

DSC_6021 by camimh, on Flickr

We got into the restaurant as the first drops started to fall.

DSC_5968 by camimh, on Flickr

As we were a larger party, we got two prints and I kicked the kids out for the second one.

It was almost eight when we finished dinner so we claimed a spot at the rail in order to watch Illuminations. Though it was an hour until the show, we are all pretty pooped from all the walking so it was nice to just sit and chill for a bit.

DSC_6166 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6169 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6182 by camimh, on Flickr

By now I had two pretty solid blisters on my feet so the walk to the bus stops SEEMED like the longest walk ever but, at least, we made it and settled down to wait for the OKW bus. Everyone erupted into cheers when they pulled up.

Up Next: Epcot day - the day we lost Grandma Goofy

Day 4, Part 1 - Epcot

DSC_6184 by camimh, on Flickr

I took this photo at 8:58 so I guess we made it to park opening but I don't remember being quite that perky by this point in the trip. lol The grandmas had both decided to stay at the Villa to get some rest and work on stuff that morning so it was just Robby, the girls and I.

We headed straight for Soarin' figuring we'd either get FPs for later or hop in line if it was short. It was short.

DSC_6185 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6191 by camimh, on Flickr

We headed for Nemo next - though I have no love for that clown fish. Back before we had kids, our niece was OBSESSED with Nemo - to the point of watching it five to six times A DAY. We happened to be living with them at the time and I rather despised the movie for a very long time.

Grandma Goofy, on the other hand, loves it. So we made sure to ride for her - and get a picture at the opening.

DSC_6195 by camimh, on Flickr

Much like the Castle, the "Glitter Ball" as Anya called it, got a lot of camera love.

DSC_6209 by camimh, on Flickr

Next we headed toward the Glitter Ball - where I revealed to everyone there was actually a ride inside. Cue astonishment from the less informed. lol

DSC_6242 by camimh, on Flickr

Now I love roller coasters in general - once we get past the initial "climb" anyway. I hate that part. I hate it as much as I had take offs in planes and ferris wheels. It's just so slow and I have this (slightly) irrational fear that the coaster will slip the track and we will careen backwards. Because of this - I really didn't like Spaceship Earth that much. lol Especially the final descent back down. But I survived and we moved on...

To Mars!

DSC_6251 by camimh, on Flickr

Anya was just a tiny bit too short for this ride so I took Inara and Jadzia. As we'd never ridden this ride before, we decided to go Green side to get a feel for the mission.

DSC_6257 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6258 by camimh, on Flickr

Jadzia and Inara loved it and bragged about their mission to Mars for the rest of the day. Later on, as we were killing time before dinner, we'd go back to Mars on a slightly more intense trip...

But for now, Robby had some strange attachment to Captain Eo, so we did that :confused3

Day 4, Part 2 - Epcot

Like I said - Captain Eo. I don't know why but yeah. That happened.

DSC_6261 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6264 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6265 by camimh, on Flickr

At least there was fun jumping water to watch afterwards lol.

We stopped by a snack stand to grab some easy snack lunch (to use some snack credits since the grandmas never seemed to think to use them the last two days and we were gathering quite the stock of 'em). My mom, who always grouses when the kids' faces are messy in pictures, received this picture.

1209422_10151561428536792_463479033_n by camimh, on Flickr

Then we began a whirlwind tour of the World Showcase. I wanted the pictures, and we needed to go to Japan for Pick-a-Pearl anyway so we set off. Rain clouds were looming once more so we didn't stop long in any one country and I mostly snapped pictures as we went. It wasn't until we were done that I realized I'd left the passports I'd printed at the villa that day so no stamps. Oops lol

O Canada!

Long before our arrival in Japan, I knew I wanted to do Pick-A-Pearl. We'd done it when we lived in Hawaii as well but it wasn't an "Experience" like they make it at Epcot. So we bought one for each of the girls and one for me and let them all pick.

Since I can't remember who went first, I'll just tell you that Anya got the biggest at 8mm and it's a lovely golden shade.

And after we were done, Robby decided he wanted to do it to so off to buy another round.

When we reached the outpost, the bridge was being raised, presumably for a boat, so the kids ran around a bit while we waited for a chance to pass.

Although we'd been to Norway the night before, we didn't have much time to look around - and as it turned out we didn't this time either because this is when the rain started to come done.

So we decided to hop on Maelstrom. Besides the kids were eager for a ride by now after the long walk around the lake.

DSC_6559 by camimh, on Flickr

Then onto Mexico!

DSC_6576 by camimh, on Flickr

And thus concludes our tour of the World Showcase!

At this point I decided the picture I REALLY wanted was of the Monorail crossing Spaceship Earth...except I had to wait for that.

This is what the photographer's family does to kill time while she works...

Next up: A meet and greet with Duffy and other fun things...

Day 4, Part 5 - Epcot

Our original plan for today was to do Epcot and then head over the Magic Kingdom for a little while before dinner back at Epcot. But by the time we'd come around to Duffy it just didn't seem like the travel times between the parks would be worth it so we had to find some more things to kill time. Kinda wishing I'd taken a little more time in the Showcase but the kids were over that anyway.

So Duffy!

None of us were overly interested in Test Track that day - not sure why - so we meander back toward the front of the park.

And grabbed a frozen treat at the Cooling Station

Rode The Land

Then went over to see Figment. We were all over the place without a cohesive plan lol

After this, we found out that Grandma Goofy had spent pretty much the entire day sleeping! And would not be joining us for dinner (because she was still sleeping!) but my mom would be there soon.

Jadzia, Inara and I returned to Mars and bravely attempted the Orange side (why? I don't know! lol) while Anya and Robby went to see Nemo again.

DSC_6699 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6700 by camimh, on Flickr

Both girls complained about their heads hurting a bit afterwards and I felt very unsteady on my feet so we met up with Robby and then head back to the Glitter Ball to find Grandma.

I can't even remember off hand what time our dinner reservation was for but we were more or less Epcot'd out so we headed over to the Seas (dinner at Coral Reef). Anya wanted to show Grandma the Nemo ride so we rode it AGAIN and then went to check in. I think we were about an hour early.

DSC_6703 by camimh, on Flickr

The food was good.

The aquarium was awesome though. As I said before, I picked most of the ADRs for the experience and atmosphere more than food reviews.

DSC_6704 by camimh, on Flickr

Before our meals arrived, Grandma Goofy returned to the land of the living and began doing the work she'd intended to do while skipping Epcot that day. She and Mom were texting back and forth.

DSC_6705 by camimh, on Flickr

And the Lost Things curse struck again! Mom left her cell phone sitting on the table - a fact which we discovered on the bus ride back to OKW. I called the restaurant as soon as we realized and left them a message regarding the phone. By then, Epcot would be closing so there wasn't enough time to try and get back to retrieve it tonight.

After dropping Grandma and the girls back at the Villa, Robby and I headed back out because Magic Kingdom was having evening extra magic hours. We STILL hadn't replaced Robby's room key so he made sure to have one of the kids on hand for the checks. Wanting to minimize, I left my camera at the villa and had only my cell for pictures, and my memory for what we did...eek

On the way down Main Street, I got a call from a manager back at Coral Reef to let me know they had the phone and it was secured. I explained that we'd left the park but could pick it up tomorrow and assumed all was well.

We rode Space Mountain first of course, then Peter Pan's Flight (which we didn't get to on day one in the MK with the kids), then Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain and I think we went back to Space Mountain for a second go.

558856_10151562305346792_331828533_n by camimh, on Flickr

We didn't quite make it to 1AM but three days of open to close at the parks was catching up to us so we left around 12:30 to return to the villa.

Up Next: Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom day soonish? Here's hoping! The whole family came down with a cold and we've all been slugs this week lol.

So it's been awhile eh? First there were the holidays and then the great technology crash of '13 where my desktop, laptop and iPad all crashed and burned in quick succession. Tragic really...

Day 5, Part 1 - Animal Kingdom

When we finished up the day before my mother had left her phone behind at Coral Reef and hubby and I were enjoying some EMH at the Magic Kingdom. As it turns out, my husband has a friend who works at Disney World and, the next morning he went off to meet up with said friend and on a mission to recover the phone.

The rest of us made our way to Animal Kingdom. We arrived a bit after opening if I recall - clearly by now "rope drop" plan had fallen apart. Anya, showing off her Animal Kingdom wear...

Robby was planning to catch up with us somewhere in the Kingdom so we took a stroll, headed for the Safari.

DSC_6735 by camimh, on Flickr

Now as we approached the Safari, Grandma Goofy and the middle child wandered off to look at something - I don't even know what - but we spent a good twenty minutes playing phone tag trying to catch up to them. Evidently, after looking at whatever they'd wanted, they got in the line for the Safari while the rest of us were still looking around the shops for them. They hung back until we caught up to them.

DSC_6741 by camimh, on Flickr

It was about this point that I realized that, in an effort to lighten my camera load, I'd left the ideal lens for the safari at the resort. D'OH! So I didn't have my zoom lens, just a fixed one, for animals that generally weren't up close and personal. But moving on...

Up next: We catch up to Robby but was his a mission a success?

Day 5, Part 2 - Animal Kingdom

Shortly after getting off our safari, Robby called to let us know he'd made it to the park - sadly without my mom's phone. The people at Epcot had no record of the phone being turned in or being sent to the main Lost and Found office and the manager we'd spoken to the night before wasn't around to clarify what happened to it. Since we had ADRs in the Magic Kingdom, we decided to inquire then if no one called any of our other three phone numbers before then.

Aside from the Safari, my other objective in the Animal Kingdom involved characters, shocker right? We'd had the chance to get a picture with Pocahontas (and Meeko) at Characterpalooza but no autograph...

We caught up with Dug and Russ on our way to Dinoland - Inara, my dinosaur fanatic, wasn't too thrilled with the short detour but Grandma was shopping anyway so we hopped in line.

DSC_6896 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6899 by camimh, on Flickr

She got VERY excited to ride the Primeval Whirl but then we discovered she was just a bit too short to ride and a minor upset occurred. Thankfully there were other exciting dinosaur things to see that helped soothe her but, to this day, she talks about going back to ride THAT ride.

And to top off our Dinoland adventure, we stopped in to Restaurantosaurus for a quick lunch - which wasn't great but DINOSAURS! haha

DSC_6920 by camimh, on Flickr

Up next: We tackle Everest and then need to scoot on out of the Animal Kingdom for another variety of Kingdom

Day 5, Part 3 - A Tale of Two Kingdoms (Animal and Magic)

In the days leading up to our trip, there had been many reports around here of Everest being down for hours at a time and, I admit, I held my breath a bit as approached. My kids had surpassed my expectations regarding the rides and after the Primeval Whirl upset, I wanted this one to go well!

DSC_6921 by camimh, on Flickr

As expected, the littlest princess was too short to ride but she hung out with Grandma Goofy (who wasn't interested) while the rest of us got in line to meet the Yeti...

DSC_6925 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6926 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6930 by camimh, on Flickr

The ride was awesome and I got the usual chorus of "Again! Again!" as we disembarked but there wasn't enough time for that. There was a lot of feet dragging, from kids and adults, as we made our weary way to the buses. As I said before, we had ADRs in Magic Kingdom so we needed to park hop and wanted to allow plenty of time for a couple pit stops.

First we stopped to buy our tickets for the Halloween Party the next day. The Grandmas would be flying home but we were staying a day longer (due to a miscommunication early on in planning) and it just so happened to by a party night. Yay!

Not actually aware of where main Lost and Found was, we headed on to the gates. It wasn't until AFTER we were inside that Robby learned he'd have to go back to the TTC to continue the epic phone hunt.

DSC_6934 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6947 by camimh, on Flickr

So off he went again. Grandma wanted to shop (have you picked up the trend yet?) and wandered off to shop on Main Street while Grandma Goofy, the girls and I made our way to Starbucks for a caffeine injection. It was as we were waiting on our order that it occurred to us that we'd let Grandma go shopping without a phone to meet up! This is a bad plan!

Grandma Goofy went off to search through the shops while the girls and I huddled under an awning - because of course that's when the rain started. It wasn't a heavy, unrelenting rain thankfully.

Main Street Pictures while we wait to reassemble the party..

DSC_6952 by camimh, on Flickr

DSC_6962 by camimh, on Flickr

The Grandmas returned about the same time I got a call from Robby saying he was back in the park. I told him we were still on Main Street and he returned with my mom's phone in hand! Woot!

I'm glad I took many many castle pictures on our previous Magic Kingdom day because this time we were greeted with...The Crane!

DSC_6967 by camimh, on Flickr

It wasn't until recently (a few days ago in fact) that I discovered this little Tweet reply I'd received from The Crane:

wdwcrane by camimh, on Flickr

It cracked me up! lol Silly crane!

We still had some time to kill before our ADR and once again the girls wanted to ride the Carousel. Inara had saved up over half her souvenir money for something from the Animal Kingdom. And that something turned out to be Rex:

DSC_7012 by camimh, on Flickr

Phone-finder though he may be, he is not the Once and Future King

DSC_7023 by camimh, on Flickr

When the rain began again we, and everyone else it seems, made for the nearest available queue....ours just happened to bring us to It's a Small World...

DSC_7029 by camimh, on Flickr

I'm absolutely certain that was the longest wait time I'd seen on that ride the entire time we were there.

Up Next: a slight deluge of It's a Small World pictures...because I have them lol

Ya know, in case you'd forgotten what the ride looked like.

It was still drizzling a bit when we emerged but we needed to head over to the Crystal Palace for the eating so we went. Inara needed to potty so somehow she managed to go into the awesome Rapunzel inspired bathrooms but I never did. So no pictures of that.

I don't have any stellar review for Crystal Palace's food - it was nothing amazing - but we were there for the characters really weren't we?
