A Tribute to Our Troops - Open Sunday July 23, 2006

Another Army wife here!! My DH is thankfully home at the moment. He deployed to Iraq for OIF2 (2004-05), Bosnia (2003) and Kosovo (2002). I haven't seen your rooms yet, but I will look you up tomorrow.

Alien, If I can somehow come up with the red crates, could you do one for the 1st ID patch. It's basically a big red one in a field of green. It would mean a lot to me. My DH was with the 1stID in Iraq, and lost some friends.

The base I am on now just recently had soldiers come home from Iraq. In fact yesterday/today was the big welcome home celebration. They had the neatest thing happen. They had veterens from all the campaign this unit has been in, and they passed the flag from one to the other. i.e. WWII vet gave to Korea who gave to Vietnam, who gave to Desert Storm who gave to Enduring Freedom. I didn't personally see it though.

Another 2 rooms have now been added to the rooms by alien. They are the Soldiers in the Snow (Frozen Tour) and Welcome Home (Soldiers on the Parade Field who have returned home). Again for those that have been in, he thanks u all for your support in building these rooms and for those that haven't, please feel free to stop by anytime and remember to read each room information to get the complete story behind each of the rooms.

Lol... thx charm. Yes the rooms are in the link now, but i can't say that they are done completely. For those that come by from time to time, they can tell u that I am never done changing things to have something new to look at here and there from time to time. Everything roped off stays the same to keep up with what i say in the story, but the rest of the room gets changed from time to time. They are good enough for now that i was happy enough to link them in, but don't expect them to stay the way they are for too long... lol.

The big red 1... have seen that patch around Hood many times... shouldn't be a problem doing that 1... will also have to draw out 1st Cav patch too and see what i can do with that 1... the horse will be the pain in that patch

Yes, the Big Red One patch is an easy one!! Even though my DH is no longer assigned under them, I still feel a part of me belongs to the Big Red One!!

Yeah, the horse might be hard.

Alien! I have always loved your rooms! You new rooms are great! I can't wait to see the parade all finished.

Thank u again to everyone that came by yesterday and hung out for a bit. And Thanks to Mocha for taking the tour through the rooms and the extremely kind words about them and reactions towards them. 99.9% of the people that have come in have said so many great things to me about them... and that was the reason I built them. Not for awards... not for recognition... but to put the thought and memory back in everyones mind that there are those that need to be remembered and honored each and every day. Those that put themselves in harms way (both past and present) to try to keep us safe and secure. And those who unfortunately do not return... however they did what they had to do for each and every 1 of us. These soldiers who go out there and fight ... also do not go for awards or recognition... but for us... The People.

Thank u again from the bottom of my heart everyone... u are all the best!!

Alien ty for a great time in your room i had a great night sitting in your room and watchng all the people come in and leave with the same reaction each time.

Hey Alien,
You always do such a great job with your rooms; it's obvious that alot of time and thought goes into your rooms. I know many people are truly moved just from the message you send; you have made us stop and think and for that~Thank You! Always look forward to seeing what you will come up with next. ;)

For those who still have not come through or those that would like to come back, I will be opening the rooms again later on today and will post a time when I am on.

I will try to come today. It sounds great. Reading the post made me feel warm and fuzzy. My dad was deployed in the last year.

VMK_Mocha came in last night. She said that she really liked the rooms. :)

I will say that I still think these rooms of yours, Alien, are very sweet and creative! They have a welcoming feel to them and you should be proud of them! :thumbsup2

Alien- Though I do not have anyone in my family in the military at this time your series of rooms touched me deeply. These rooms should remain unchanged unless it is just added to it. They are perfect the way they are and obviously mean so much to many. I was trying to walk through with a couple friends when one kept leaving. Little did I know that he did have family in the military and the rooms were making him cry. The fact you did something like this to show your support for the troops and their families if you have not already received an award for your rooms you should receive a very special one Thank you so much for reminding us what is important
:thumbsup2 :worship: :thanks:

Thx Melp for the kind words and telling of how much the room meant to you and your friends. Every time I hear someone tell me that the rooms have touched them in that way is all the award that I need.

Also on a side note. I have had so many people request to please give them teleport access to the rooms so they can come anytime, I have added a new room just for that. So if anyone would like to be able to come in anytime they want, just let me know and we can trade a door to put in the teleporter room.

I was just there a little while ago it was great a big :thanks:. It was great

I agree, my mule was in your room and it was fantastic - just smashing and so touching - congratulations !!!

I hope some soldiers can play VMK while they are abroad!
