A Trail of Tears from Louisiana to WDW & Back Again! New PTR Link 8/15

Wonderful update! I want your boys to pick my pearls for now on! How lucky that y'all got the special character meet. My youngest is 11 now and doesn't care to meet the characters anymore. When she was younger it was a constant battle with DH because we wanted to find the characters. I use to try to get rid of him so we could character hunt.

Don't you just love resting in the rain. We found on summer trip we had to take a mid day break and then return in the late afternoon.

Thanks! And I was so super proud of them! I had to tell them that big pearls & twins don't normally happen, just in case they don't get the same result next time! Koby turned 10 on this trip & he was very choosy about which characters he met! Brady was all about it & so am I. Ben not so much. I think I will try to ditch him next time so Brady, Shelby & I can character hunt.

I sleep sooooo good when it rains. And we are expecting severe thunderstorms tonight, so I should sleep really good! We will probably do a mid day break next time. We did that with our 2nd day at MK, but it didn't work out so well with Shelby, but more on that when I get there!

Awww, the pictures of Shelby with the characters are just precious! I'm so glad she ended up reacting to them just like you thought she would! And yay for those awesome pearls! The boys did a great job picking! After seeing your pictures that is going to be an absolute must for me from now on. It looks like so much fun!

Sorry you had to deal with some attitudes that day. I think we all have times like that at Disney - the combination of heat and exhaustion from walking can lead to short tempers!

Can't wait to read about DHS!

She did wonderfully with the characters, but we didn't meet any villians, besides Lotso & he doesn't look scary.

PaP was TONS of fun! It was only $17 to do it since I had already gotten the carriages. I didn't even look at the setting. I knew I would see something that I liked better & I didn't budget for more at PaP. Next time though! LOL!

Yeah we all had attitudes, buy the time we had gotten back to the resort Ben had been awake for 48 hrs, so he was very grumpy! And it just melted over into everyone else.

Yes it sure does! The $17 is for the price of the oyster & you are guaranteed to get a pearl. If by some chance you don't, you get to pick another oyster for free. And yes, the carriages were $4!

Once we hit Epcot, we caught our 50th wind & wasn't tired, until we got back to the resort & then sleep definitely kicked in!

What a great first day in Epcot! Shelby was so adorable meeting the characters! And I love those mice from Cinderella, I'd love to meet them, but since I don't have a kid, I doubt I'd get picked for any special meet and greet!

The mice were adorable!!! This meet & greet was awesome! There were 6 characters, I think. We saw 3 of them. They spent so much time with the kids that we didn't get to see them all before they had to leave!

Pick a Pearl was great! I definitely recommend it! I am hooked!!!

She was tired & hot & crabby, along with the rest of us. The mess was fun for Ben to clean though!

Yep, 48 hrs & then some. I think that was why everyone was so crabby, along with the heat!

We got some rest, but we had to be up super early for our day at Hollywood Studios since our ADR at Play & Dine was for 8 am. And I am soooooooo glad we got there early!

We were very lucky with the pearls & all I could think of was "wait til I get home & post THIS in my trip report!"

Crankiness aside, it was a great day! Even though there were moments, I was at Disney & it didn't take long for the Disney magic to take over & all was fine again, until the next heated discussion or the boys decided to act like total idiots!

Koby & Shelby do that alot. Both boys were in the delivery room when she was born & he cut her cord. After that, well they have been inseparable since then!

How wonderful that you are taking your baby girl! I hope you have precious memories like I do with Shelby with her!!!

Oh girl, my blisters had blisters & I wound up throwing those away & buying Croc flip flops at Disney. That worked for awhile until my feet decided to swell 4x it's normal size after Hollywood Studios & did not go down until we were home for 3 days! Next time tennis shoes all the way! The Crocs for Ben were fine, the sandals for the boys & Shelby were fine. I was the only one who had the trouble!
