A toddler and a preschooler's first trip! What could go wrong? PTR: 1/30/16 - 2/6/2016

THEY ARE HERE! And decorated! Obviously someone is a party pooper and didn't want his decorated. But mine and the boys' are done. They all have a little bit of glow paint on them, so they'll glow in the dark. I need to add a few more layers of base coat to seal them aall, but otherwise, we are done! YAY!

ha ha ha, I saw these on facebook and I immediately knew it was you :) I popped right over here to be sure.

How the heck did you cut the duck tape so perfectly???

I used an x-acto knife and a self-healing mat. It's oddly fun to do, actually. I assume it's sort of similar to the adult coloring books. I can see how that might be fun, because I actually really enjoyed cutting them. Weird, I know!

Well... nothing like planning and planning and planning to change things up three weeks before your trip! @kcpinwdw - you really got me thinking about flying out a day early. So, after I proposed the idea to Husband, he got really excited about it. So.... we are now flying down Friday afternoon and getting in Friday evening. We are going to spend our first night at Port Orleans - Riverside, have bell services move our luggage, grab some late breakfast at Kona Cafe, then move our whole MK plans up a bit to be in the early afternoon so we can be back to Wilderness Lodge to check in sometime in the early evening and have a relaxing evening and early bed time.

The hotel is a fair amount more expensive than what we would have paid at our home airport hotel, but we decided to just suck it up because "it's vacation!". The other thing about this change in plans is we aren't going to tell the boys. We're just going to head to the airport on Friday like we'd planned then ask them "or would you rather go to Disney World TODAY?!" Not as cool as surprising them with a whole trip, but should get Son 1 pretty excited (I doubt if Son 2 will understand).

So, updates since my last post:

- We started packing some. I realized that I need to buy Son2 a few more t-shirts and Husband and myself more jeans. So, shopping we will go this weekend.

- Our second set of Magic Bands shipped, so now the question is - to decorate them or not? I"m thinking I may just paint the middle Mickey and call it a day. We got almost all new colors, so that's kind of fun.

- Oh! And because I put the money to pay for our extra night into our Disney Vacation Account, it bumped me into another $1000 of spending, so we get an extra $20 back! Sweet!

I'm sad to hear about all of the things closing in Hollywood Studios, but glad we should be able to see most of them before they start going away in April. I think about, like, the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" play area and how we have photos of ME in there. I'm glad I'll have photos of my kids in there, but it makes me a little sad they probably won't remember it. Ah well. Hopefully new Hollywood Studios makes up for it!

This is awesome. I'm planning my 35th bday trip to Disney and I'm taking my niece who will be 2. I know she will not remember this trip but she already loves Disney and I know she's gong to love going. I'm more excited for her to go than it being my 35th bday.
