A Tale of 2 Trips: Oct 2015 & Feb 2016 PTR *NEW* 2/20 November 2015 TR Started!

The October trip sounds like it's going to be great!! I can imagine how tough it will be to go back to work that Monday!

Aww congratulations on your new princess! She is absolutely precious.

I followed along on your last WDW TR because you all were going about the same time as DH & I. Unfortunately we won't be going again until Nov 2016 so I'm using your PTR as a sneak peek for our trip ;)

Your plans look fantastic so far! I'm excited to be following along!

I have been loving oll the beautiful photos of the DD and DS! We will both be in MK on the 25th! Ill be keeping an eye out for you!!!!

Thanks! DS is really loving being a big brother and so far, the novelty has not worn off. lol

Absolutely!!

It is going to be absolutely terrible. lol Unless I can sweet talk my boss into letting me come back on Tuesday instead...

Thank you so much!

It's so hard when you know your next trip is so far away. That's what this October trip has been for us. We can't wait to go back! Reading other TR's is what always helps pass the time for me too!

ADRs
All right, let's talk food!! It's been awhile since we made our October ADRs of course, but February was a little more recently. I figured one post for both trips would be fine. October will look pretty familiar if you have followed my previous TRs, since we pretty much have our few favorite places we like to eat every trip, but February will have a few new ones for us.

October ADR List
'Ohana - Tuesday October 20th at 7:35 am

We have this one booked, but may or may not keep it. If we end up deciding to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, it would likely be this night so we definitely wouldn't want an early breakfast. So it might end up being canceled, but we are holding onto it for now just in case we decide against doing the party.

Sci-Fi Dine In - Wednesday October 21st at 11:05 am

This is DH's favorite, so we added a lunch here. It might be the last time we can do it for awhile until DD is a little older because I remember how tough it was to keep DS entertained when we ate here when he was a year old. She should still be little enough that hopefully she will be fine in the carrier while we eat.

Via Napoli - Thursday October 22nd at 11:30 am

So this place is always a MUST DO for me! I literally dream of this pizza between trips. We ate at a similar restaurant while we were in Disneyland but it just wasn't the same. So I can't wait to get back here again!

Crystal Palace - Saturday October 24th at 8:20 am

And of course, the staple of our trip is a pre-park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace on DS's birthday! This year is no different. We love getting into the park early, taking some pictures on Main Street, then stuffing ourselves silly with puffed French toast! Okay, maybe that last one is just me. But this has become a must do for all of us on our October trips.

That's it for October! We are not really big on table service meals in general because we'd rather grab a quick meal at a counter service and get on with our day!

February ADR List
Hoop De Doo Musical Revue - Sunday February 7th at 6:15 pm

This will be a new one for our family, and I'm so excited! Actually, I have done it once on a trip with my family way back when, but it will be new for DH and DS. We are doing this as our big group meal with all 13 of us, so it should be a lot of fun!!

Crystal Palace - Tuesday February 9th at 8 am

Although this is not a birthday trip, we still wanted to do our favorite character meal! This time, it will be the four of us, plus my parents, sister, and my sister's friend who has decided to join us on the trip.

Be Our Guest - Thursday February 11th at 11:30 am

This one was made at the request of my dad, who was interested in eating at Be Our Guest but didn't want to wait in the long line for lunch. To my great surprise, I found out you can make an ADR for lunch there now, so I made one for the 4 of us and my parents, sister, and her friend. DH is not really interested in eating there again (we had dinner a couple years ago) so he might grab food somewhere else but I'm excited to try the lunch there this time.

Joining in! Your plans and ADRs look great! Congrats on the newest addition! She's adorable:) can't wait to keep reading!

All I have to say is YUM! Such fun choices. I bet Hoop de doo with a big group will be a BLAST!

Great ADRs! We went to Via Napoli for the first time this past January and it is definitely a must do going forward :)

Looks good to me. We are trying Via Napoli at least partly because I know you rave about it. The pizza at WDW is so awful otherwise, I am really looking forward to trying it.
We are doing Ohana breakfast and BOG lunch for the first time as well. And I agree with your DH - love me some Sci-Fi!

We also had a tradition of Crystal Palace. I say "had" because now DD is 12 and Winnie the Pooh and Friends aren't exactly the top of her list, so we decided not to do it this trip.

Hoop De Doo is great if a bit pricey, definitely great for the whole family - but don't think about how much you are spending!

Great ADR picks! How fun that you all are trying Hoop De Doo! And OF COURSE Via Napoli is on there, I know how much you love it! ;)

Everything looks good! Funny how different we are in the ADR department :) I'd have more than that for a weekend trip! lol

Following along as we will be there in february too, the week before you. Congrats on the birth of your daughter! You have a beautiful family. I bet she will love being worn the whole time you are there. What kind of carrier do you have?

Welcome along!

Thanks so much! She is such a sweet little blessing. :) We can't wait to turn her into another Disney nut!!

ADRs are sounding good...and now I am getting hungry! :rotfl:

Thanks! I am too... lol I could totally go for some Via Napoli pizza right about now!

All I have to say is YUM! Such fun choices. I bet Hoop de doo with a big group will be a BLAST!

I am SO excited about Hoop De Doo! We didn't want to do every meal together, but we knew we needed at least one, and this seemed like the best to accommodate such a big group of us. I think it's going to be a blast!

Great ADRs! We went to Via Napoli for the first time this past January and it is definitely a must do going forward :)

I have been obsessed with Via Napoli since our first meal there. So delicious! And not too expensive, which is nice for a Disney restaurant.

The pizza at Via Napoli is nothing like the Disney pizza found elsewhere, so I think you will enjoy it! :thumbsup2 'Ohana for breakfast is pretty fun, and I'm looking forward to BOG for lunch too. I'm excited to get to try the Master's cupcake with the grey stuff on top!

*Sigh* I'm sure one day we will be in the same boat when it comes to Crystal Palace. That makes me a little sad to think about it! But for now, we will keep the tradition alive!

:rotfl:Let me tell you about pricey...since we were doing a big group, we did it all on one reservation on our credit card. Talk about sticker shock! :scared1:

ADRs look good. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Great ADR picks! How fun that you all are trying Hoop De Doo! And OF COURSE Via Napoli is on there, I know how much you love it! ;)

Thanks! I am so excited to go back to HDD, it has been a LONG time! And I think the kids will all really love it. It will definitely keep them entertained, if nothing else.

:rotfl2: My love of Via Napoli is apparently pretty well known by now!!

Everything looks good! Funny how different we are in the ADR department :) I'd have more than that for a weekend trip! lol

We are totally outside the norm when it comes to Disney ADRs!! :rotfl:

Welcome!

Aw, thank you so much! We are so excited to introduce her to Disney, even if she will be too young to remember it. DS loves looking back at pictures from his early trips, so I hope she will too! Our carrier is a Beco Gemini. It's really comfortable to wear, and it works well for little babies as well as bigger. DS used it until he was over a year old, so it should work well for both trips!

Great ADR list for both trips!

Crystal Palace breakfast is a tradition for us now too! And we're trying Ohana breakfast and BOG lunch for the first time in December, so I'm excited to read your reviews of those! And I'm thinking Via Napoli for the first time in May - I hear so many rave reviews!

And I think Hoop Dee Do should be so much fun with a big group!

Yay! Some of my favorite places! We have yet to try Crystal Palace or Via Napoli yet, although I think we may try them on our next trip. We did 1900's for breakfast last time and really enjoyed it but we're looking to try something new this round.

Congrats on your new bundle of joy!!! I'm so happy for you that both you and her are healthy and that she came at the perfect time!

I am following this PTR and your future TR with much excitement!

I am tentatively planning a maternity leave trip last week of Feb/first week of March. DD2 is due 12/15 but I'm anticipating an early December arrival if she is early like her sister. That puts DD at almost 3 months old. We took DD1 when she was just shy of 4 months and had a wonderful time.

One question for you...are you at all worried about late nights out with your DD? Maybe it was a new mom thing for me, but I was super strict with keeping DD's sleep schedule on our trip--she was put to sleep in the PnP each night by 8pm. Hope you don't see this as me being critical of your plans--just wondering if you had any hesitations about keeping the newborn out late. My DD1 has never seen Wishes or the nighttime shows, so we also want to stay out at the parks until 9pm a couple nights when we go.

I really like 'Ohana breakfast because they bring the food to you. No missing out on anything because you had to run up to the buffet, or having to take turns with DH to get your food. Unfortunately it doesn't really work well any other days of our trip so if we decide to skip it in favor of the party, we will miss out on it this year. I would definitely recommend Via Napoli! The food is so good and fresh, and for a TS restaurant it is not expensive.

We are really looking forward to that one. I think it's going to be a lot of fun for all of us!

I would definitely recommend both if you are able to make them work on your next trip. They are both favorites of ours! I'd like to try 1900PF one day too, it seems like people enjoy that one too.

DD will be 11 weeks old on our trip, so just before making 3 months. I'm gonna be honest, I'm a little worried about it, but I'm trying to relax and remind myself to just go with the flow. lol

I'm not really too worried about it. Most nights right now she is not really settled down for the night until between 10 and 11, and I'm thinking at such a young age she will fall asleep in the stroller or carrier if we are out late. It might be a totally different story in February when she is 6 months old. And of course, both DH and I know this is going to be a totally differently paced trip than we are used to taking. If the later nights are just not working and making things too stressful, we will adjust for the rest of the trip. We did okay keeping DS out late a couple of nights on his first trip when he was a year old and just changing him into his pajamas while we are in the park so that he could go right to bed when we got back. I'm hoping DD will be the same, but if not, we will just skip the nighttime shows.

Good ADR choices! I feel like a pre-park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace is a staple with kids. It's the perfect way to start your MK day.

For now, it's definitely a tradition we will keep! Once both kids need to be paid for though, it might be harder to justify the cost.
