A Summer Wedding and a Disney Trip CANCELLED, HELP DECIDE WHEN WE'LL GO IN 2011

HI! Pam
you and the girls did a great job on the countdown poster! :mickeyjum
and I love the way your Nemo shirts came out:thumbsup2...I had tinkered with the idea of doing shirts; but, never did...I think we have all our clothes.
:wave2:Connie

Thanks! I do love making shirts! And I am very happy with our first set!

So, Nicole's trip is booked  Our reservations are linked and we are now a "Grand Gathering" Isn't that exciting! There were 3 special Grand gatherings that we were able to do and I think we're leaning towards one of them.
It's $35 per adult and $21 per child (includes tax and gratuity) So, it's pretty much the same price as a character meal. It starts off at 9am at Tony's at the Magic Kingdom, where they do a grand gatherings character breakfast, then you are escorted over to reserved seating at Philharmagic. It sounds really nice to me!! That would cost my family of 6, $182, that's not bad!

COME ON PARK HOURS!!!!!!!! ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR MONTHS!!!!!!!

Pam, they are out today!!! Go to the WDW site and to Sept. 2010. You will see just the 1st listed, but if you click on it and then hit the NEXT DAY button, the whole month is there!!! :woohoo:

You guys don't have matching rings either? I got some strange looks from a few that we didn't get matching rings :headache: I think, we're going to go through the rest of our life with these rings we should both be happy about them and have what we want. I guess that's how we are. We never make each other do things we don't want, we're all about whatever makes each other happy! That's why he's agreed to honeymoon in Disney :rolleyes1

Nope, no matching rings for us. We each picked out the ring we wanted. My DH's is titanium and mine is an anniversary band with some diamonds in it. I love it :)

yay for finding a decent dj at a great price :)

from TR I read from when my family is heading down--it is going to be HOT!!!! Tank tops would be great!

really cute countdown and what a special reveal!!

super cute Epcot shirts!

:woohoo: for grand gathering and traveling with friends!! I bet your girls will be super excited to have good friends with them!!

The shirts are so cute :thumbsup2. I bought the stuff to do some shirts for me and Dallas, but I haven't done them yet. That will be a good project for Friday.

Pam, did you find the hours? I posted to you on Janine's thread, but here's how you get to the hours:

Go to the calendar on the WDW site. You will have to choose the Sept. 2010 pull down menu and then you will see only the 1st of Sept listed. Click ON Sept. 1st and then you can click NEXT DAY to go through each of the days. You can do this on all the park calendars.

Here is the MK link, just to get you started.

Congrats on now being a Grand Gathering! So now that the park hours are out, I am sure you've got more plannin' to do!

Yay for hours being out!! Also, awesome about the grand gatherings breakfast-- that is a great price for a character breakfast! I can't remember-- are you guys doing the free QSDP or are you upgrading to the regular??

Ooo, have fun! I just bought another set of shirts today, I think we'll be making our second set this weekend! See, once I get started, I become obsessed!!!!!

Love the shirts and the countdown calendar!! Very cute!!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks

Oh, yes I do, let's just say I did not get enough sleep last night!

Thanks, that is exciting! We are doing the QSDP, so I think that character breakfast would be a great addition to our dining!!

Now, I already had a basic idea on my plans, even though, once I looked at the park hours those plans did change, but that's fine! And also, now that my friend will be coming with us, I figure i'll see if she wants to make a schedule of what she wants to do on which days and then we'll get together and see if we want to change things to match up.(Which i'm sure we will) Sound good to you Nicole? This way, we'll both have a say in what we want to do and then we'll go from there. And, we don't have to do exactly the same things every day, even though the kids will want to, I want everyone to get to do what they want.....meaning me and nicole, we are after all, the ones that plan and pay for these trips for months!!!!

So, here they are!!! I AM SO DARN EXCITED!!!!

Sunday 9/19: If we drive we should be there by 8am. If we change our minds and end up flying with Nicole, we will fly out Saturday night on Jetblue, we'll get there late, but we'll be ready first thing sunday morning.
I figure once we get there, whether we flew in the night before or are just getting there, we can check out the resort, swim, eat. And then we will spend the rest of that day at Epcot! (9a-9p)

Monday 9/20: Typhoon Lagoon. Emily must swim with the sharks, isn't that so sweet? :rolleyes1 She's so funny! and this night we will go over to the Boardwalk and rent surrey bikes, which we wanted to do last year, but didn't get to it) and then play Mini golf.

Tuesday 9/21: Magic Kindgom day! This is the night of MNSSHP!! (7p-12a)

Wednesday 9/22: Animal Kingdom (EMH 5p-8p) I figure we'll need to sleep in if we'll be in MK til 12a, so we'll get a later start at AK and stay til 8pm

Thursday 9/23: MK (EMH 8a-9a) This is the night I am going to book the Wishes Cruise!!!

Friday 9/24: DTD, Disney Quest, and we'll be renting a boat again like last year.

Saturday 9/25: DHS (EMH 8a-9a)

Sunday 9/26: Blizzard Beach for a few hours in the morning and end our last night at Epcot with Illuminations!

I am debating if I want to switch Thursday and sunday. If we go to the MK on our last day they have EMH at night. So, that might be better. I'll see what Nicole thinks of that!!!

What does everyone think? I signed up for touring plans last year, but didn't this year, if anyone has a subscription to that, are any of my days NO NOs according to them? I know last year, they did say to skip the days with EMH, but of course, we want to do EMH!!!!

You really didn't get much sleep last night did you. I can tell because you've got everything planned out so well. Ummm, if it were my family, we would have to close down the vacation with the Magic Kingdom. But, that's just us.

No, not much sleep at all. And we've gotten heavy rains all week and it's been so busy at work, that i'll probably end up leaving past my 12am time. I'll be so tired by then!
And that is the reason why I may switch MK day (thurs) with my second Epcot day(which would be our last day) We ended off our last Disney trip with the MK and I would like to do that this time too! I just don't want to have to wait til the last day to do our Wishes cruise. Which would go with our 2nd MK day. I don't really have any other day to squeeze it in.

YAY PAM!!!! We are both at HS on Saturday the 25th!!!!!!!! :cool1:

ALL RIGHT!!! Are you going to get there for the 8am extra magic hour?

Hi there :cheer2:

Just read through most of your trip report! sounds exciting!! We went for our Disneymoon last year, but I didn't get a chance to finish it before grad school applications ate me (yum yum). My TR got closed, but I'm hoping they'll reopen it soon...

I am along for the ride and living vicariously through you!

For dining, we did Chef Mickey's for brunch (11AM) and it was actually pretty good - we didn't expect a lot but the character interactions were really nice. I can't say too much about the food since we keep kosher and get special food there (I  Disney for doing that) but the atmosphere was pretty top notch, IMHO.

We LOVED Sci-fi as well - the atmosphere was amazing! It's a great "date nite" type place, since we were in a car facing forward, but they had cars that were more traditional table like.

Akershus was AMAZING also for character interactions. It's pretty small, but we got a nice interaction with each princess and I enjoyed meeting Belle ;) I highly recommend that - and we got a good selection of princesses. I forget everyone, but it was definitely Arielle, Aurora, Snow White and I am forgetting who else.

The Wave (in the Contemporary, literally three steps from MK) was actually really nice too - more like a family restaurant than a kids restaurant and a great break from being overly Disney-fied. Ummm...I think that's all my reqs for right now! Can't wait to hear what you come up with!!
