A Summer Wedding and a Disney Trip CANCELLED, HELP DECIDE WHEN WE'LL GO IN 2011

Poor sweetheart! with poison ivy each time you get it it gets worse...just luckily it did not get into her airway and mouth with it on her face...
that really is sad that her teacher did not have her call home! did she even ask Lizzie about it or how she was feeling?!?
my mom is severly allergic and one year for Christmas she had it in her mouth, nose and throat...she had to go to the dr to recieve an inj every morning for the swelling...she eventually recieved an inj (like people with allergies get) and she still gets it but much less severe (but, each time she get it its worse than the time before
Hope she feels better soon!

I know, that's why I was so mad. What if it had gotten a lot worse and she sat in school for all of those hours. Lizzie has never been one to say anything about being sick, unless it's really bad, so she probably wouldn't have said anything at all even if she couldn't breathe well. :headache: I'm still MAD about that. I though by the time I went into the school I would be a little more calm, but not really. And i'm glad, cause I want to give it to them.

OH, poor Lizzie! I've never had it, so I don't know how itchy it can be...at least she felt ok, though. Yes, I hate it when the school doesn't call for things. Maybe some parents wouldn't care, but you are I are very involved with our kids and I want to be called for everything!!!

That's the first time something happened like that and they didn't call me. Not sure what made them think this was ok :confused3

We are staying at CSR now! We will just have to wait and see how things line up as we get closer to our trips. They will be here soon!!

I have started to pick up things here and there too. I really like that it helps to spread things out. Of course, I need to make a master shopping list so I can keep track of what I have gotten versus what we still need.

I feel horrible I missed saying Happy Mother's Day to all my DIS friends but I did not end up getting online at all yesterday. Just too busy! :rotfl: I hope you had a great day! I think it is sweet your girls are excited about Mother's Day. :goodvibes:

I am so excited for you for your wedding!! I know it is overwhelming (I remember being there) but it will all fall into place! Hang in there, Pam.

My DD had those flip flops!! :) The girls look so young!

Poor thing! I hope Lizzie is feeling better and the rash is gone.

Lizzie is doing good. Her face looks much better tonight. I loved those flip flops too, I gotta get them more from the Disney store before our trip.

Your Disney shower sounds like so much fun! What a fun way to bring some magic to your waiting.

I agree with everyone else that all the wedding stuff will get finished! It seems like you are on top of things so I'm sure it will all work out. :thumbsup2

I love that you are incorporating a mini TR into your PTR! What a great way to commemorate your last trip and think about what you're looking forward to most in your upcoming trip! So clever! :wizard:

Poor Lizzie! I bet she's just miserable. :sad2: I would definately let the school know that you want to know about things like this! I used to teach (before I started homeschooling) and I know there are some teachers who just don't get it. There are also, believe it or not, some parents who just don't want to hear it. I had a dad tell me once that he doesn't call me on the weekend to tell me about his kid and he doesn't expect me to call him during the school day! :scared1: I politely told him that while I am a teacher Monday through Friday from 7 to 4 he is a dad ALL THE TIME. So sad that parents have to be reminded of that. Anyway, I'm certainly not defending them not calling but putting it into perspective. Let them know that you are a parent who wants to know! (Although this late in the school year you'd think the teacher would have figured this out. :confused3 ) At any rate I hope she feels better soon!

Oh, I know of some parents that don't really care either! My kids have been at that school since the beginning of their school career and all of the teachers know me well, i'm always there volunteering.

Austin has Poison Ivy too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh No!!!! I hope the poor little guy is all right. Lizzie's face looks even better tonight than it did this morning.

Ok, so me and Manny were listening to wedding songs again tonight. We already decided on "Beautiful in my eyes" by Joshua Kadison for the first dance. And tonight we decided on "The sweetest thing" for the cake cutting song....... That came after arguing about other songs. Oh, we just get along so well :rolleyes1

We got "Single Ladies" by beyonce for the bouquet toss. There will be no garter toss at this wedding

And we have "1,2,3,4" by Plain White Ts as our entrance song. (LOVE THAT SONG)

We now just need to figure out our last dance songs. We also need to decide if we're doing a "longest married couples dance" and if so, what will the song be?

Ok, so the DJs packet is almost complete. I think, i'm just going to decide on the last dance songs without Manny. Honestly in the end, he won't give a crap what the song is.

Whew, i'm ready for bed.

So, this day last year was our day before Disney day!!! And it started off with a SCREAM!! I woke everyone, to say the least. I set my alarm to check in online with southwest and Anthony's name was grayed out. I could not click on him to check him in. So I logged out and then logged back in, nope, that didn't work. So as i'm having a panic attack i'm checking the rest of us in. :headache: I frantically call southwest and they tell me that it's a random name pulling that they do for security. They will want to check ID for that person at the airport. Ok, that's nice, but it's my 12 yr old son. What Id are you looking for. Her answer was, oh, if it's a child, don't worry about it, you don't have to do anything, the system can't tell if its a child or adult. "Oh that's lovely" . Just print him a pass at the airport. Well, that will give him like a C" right? Yes, but he can most likely board with you guys in A! MOST LIKELY!!!! Yeah, it took me a while to calm down from that one! I even called the airport and they were super nice there. They told me that he can board with us, that will not be a problem. Just get in line when your A group is called and have a nice flight. She was very reassuring and I was happy.

The girls went to school. Not too sure how that worked out for them :lmao: And I had a BLAST packing the last of everything. I was running around that whole week before, really. I could not find misting fans anywhere, though. I was getting ready to give in and have to buy the Disney ones when we got there. Well, my Dad ended up stopping by that night around 5pm with misting fans in hand. He found them at joblot!!! WOOHOO. I think they were $6 a piece. He even had batteries for them. NOW we were all ready! We had all of our suitcases by the door along with carryons and everything that needed to be charging was charging... in outlets right by our feet, so we would not forget said charging items!
Before the kids went to bed I gave them their autograph books that I had made them, pens and lanyards and pins. They were very excited about them. I wasn't sure the lanyards were going to be able to go in the carryon ,but it wasn't a problem.

Here are the kiddos ready to "try" to go to sleep that night.

Looking at this picture makes me cringe. I have a new parlor set and carpet now and that just looks UGLY!!!!!

Me too, of course. I really feel like i'm going to Disney tomorrow! :rotfl: I'm crazy!!!!!

Ok, so on the transportation board there was that thread to receive a $25 off a R/T flight through southwest. And seeing how we're still so undecided about what's going on with travel, I figured i'd check it out. Well, i already got the email from SW and it said that I will receive the code in my email within 7 business days. So, i'm excited about that. Someone called southwest and was told that it was save 25 per reservation, but others have booked using it and it took the 25 off each traveler's round trip fare. That would save us $125, plus I still have the $120 credit. So that's $245 right there. So, there is hope for paying a decent price for air. I still have to wait until after the wedding though, and then we'll make the decision. But right now pricing it out, the total comes to 1500, so we'd pay 1255. That's not bad at all. Now, i believe prices are going to have to come down for SW a little. If the total price comes down to 1200, i'll only be paying 950 for air. Now, that's a deal. So, we'll wait and see. I know those dings gotta come out to, so here' to hoping :wizard:

I am soooo glad I got the airfaire I did. Wow! Maine is further away (I think) and my air is less expensive than yours. Weird! :confused3

Hey Pam!! Great flashback posts!! It's hard to believe it's already been a whole year!! Time flys! :)

Don't worry about all of the wedding stuff, it will get done...and if it doesn't, nobody is going to know but you! Your wedding will be amazing! I'm getting so excited for you!

Great song choices! I remember choosing songs! We had the Star Wars theme as our entrance to the reception song, Mike and I danced to Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" and I danced with my Dad to "When You Wish Upon A Star" and our cake cutting song was "When I'm Sixty-Four" by the Beatles!

Can't wait to see the rest of your flashbacks from last year!

Yeah, i'm really thinking southwest's prices HAVE to come down. Even a little and i'm happy, especially with my discount and credit.

Thanks. I just listened to when i'm 64, and it is so cute an funny!! And now since i'm on youtube I decided to put on "beautiful in my eyes" ( our song) I can't wait to dance with Manny to this at our wedding.
I'm enjoying your flashbacks as well!!! Oh, we were in Disney at this time last year. (Well, I'm almost there)

Our airfare is still too expensive but I'm starting to worry that it'll never come down!

Amanda

PAM!!! Did you see the news about the new resort?!?!? Lots of Suites! This is great new for those of us with big families, 2012 here we come!!! :cool1:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2464825

Oh, my!!! I just checked it out. That is AWESOME!!!!! I wish they were opening that up for next year! Cause i'm looking for a bounce back while we're there in september!!! I'm definitely going to want to check that out. They mentioned starting construction over the summer, so while i'm there, we'll go over to POP and take some pictures.

Yeah, i'm hoping that after the wedding when i'm able to book that the airfare comes down or southwest sends out some good dings!!!!

So on this day 1 year ago, these sleepy faces were on their way to Disney World!!! We were waiting for the limo at 3am! The limo ride was enjoyed by all and our flight with southwest was nice. There were no airport problems with Anthony's ticket, they were all so nice.
Our plane landed at 9:05am and we were checking in to the All Star Movies by 10:30am. Our rooms were ready too! I know we went to check out the resort and the room and changed up and went to the foodcourt for our first Disney lunch. Then headed straight for the pool.

Around 3pm we went back to the room and changed up. We got on our first bus ride to the MK. Sam kept falling asleep on the bus, I had to keep waking her up and telling her we were almost at the MK, we're gonna see the castle. Once we got there, she woke right up! They were in heaven! I know this night we rode Haunted Mansion, It's a small world, we went through Minnie Mouse's house, and saw Mickey's Philharmagic. We were all just so amazed. We were then on our way to eat dinner. I think we were trying to get to Pecos Bills. I think. But it started pouring, thundering and lightening. We were all tired anyway, so we ran back to the bus! Once we got to the hotel it was raining so bad that we didn't even want to go back out and get wet running to the foodcourt. We took the table from one room and put them together in the other room and ordered pizza and soda. That was so fun!!! What a wonderful day we had exactly 1 year ago!

I cannot wait either. And i've been waiting all week for my ticker to be under 4 months, we're almost there.
When the commercials come on, I not only make everyone shhh, I call all of the kids into the room to watch it with me. They are getting tired of them. I don't know why. They're magical for me every time I see them.:goodvibes

Great pics!
We were at Disney last year at this time, too!!!

Amanda

Oh, Disney World!!!!!!!!:cloud9: We'll all soon be there again.

Reminiscing is such a fun way to get excited for your next trip!! Great pictures-- your kids just look so happy! I know September will be just as amazing as last year's trip was for you!!

I hope so! When I think about it, i'm not sure how anything can compete with our first trip. But this one I believe is going to be just as great. We're staying at a resort with a pool slide. We're doing character meals and other TS meals. That's new. I have our surprise carriage ride booked and we're going to rent surrey bikes, which is new for us. We're also going with our good friends. So there is so much to look forward too.

Ok, so Honey I shrunk the Audience was on my Epcot to do list. Well, it's closing and being replaced my Captain EO. Don't even know who that is. I know it has to do with Michael Jackson. I watched the video, but i'm still not sure whats going on. I mean, we'll still watch it. It's supposed to be ready in July. But..... I don't know :confused3

Also, can someone tell me what is going on with the closing/refurb of Star Tours. We missed this last year and really want to ride it along with do the Jedi Training academy. First I heard it would be closed in september, now some are saying October. Does anyone know?

AS FOR THE WEDDING! My shower is in 4 days. I'm so excited!!!! Manny, my brother, Manny's brother, his friend Steve and Anthony, and possibly my Dad are going to rent their tuxes this weekend while we're at the shower or next weekend. Whatever day works best for everyone. I can't wait for them to get that done. Also, for the bachelor party everyone is going to get together this weekend to pick a date and decide on plans. I can't wait to hear what they're doing.
And..... still working on those invitations.

I love those pics Pam! Sorry I've been MIA; it's been a bit crazy.

With respect to Star Tours, I saw that the goodbye party was like Sept. 8 but the official closing date hasn't been announced. We are going to make a point to do it on the 25th so that Joe can get a fix before it goes away.

I hope you have a great shower this weekend. Take lots of pics!! Are you going to share the bachelorette details with us?

Have a great day Pam!!

Don't worry, you're not missing much with Honey I Shrunk the Audience. The 3D quality is very poor and we didn't think it was particularly funny/entertaining. The pre-show is basically a commercial for Kodak that's downright painful.
Don't know about when Star Tours is closing, but I hope you get to ride it-- we love it! Yay for your shower coming up!!
