A story of renewed hope & the power of Dis

but there is a change of work schedules that caused a " drop an ADR/pick up an ADR" chess game of sorts overnight....but its all good....Fred NOT coming home for Christmas, no sadness we had a wonderful anniversary and maybe we shouldn't push our luck  job security being what it is for most of us you want to keep a job you jump a little

BUT I am not going to get into a blue funk because of it or the fact that there is no family here except for the 4 legged kids so I played the ADR shuffle and won ! Also got 2 night stay at POP I WILL be around people this week besides at work I went on WDW website in the middle of the night on a whim and couldn't believe an opening :faint:

so the new Itinerary :

Picked up Garden Grill Christmas Eve Dinner Christmas Mass I will go where I usually go The Contemporary Resort

Picked up Tusker House Christmas breakfast earlier than originally planned ..I may dump this one & spend day at POP pool as its supposed to be high 80's and right now relaxing sounds devine ! Moved Chef Mickey to Christmas Dinner instead of Christmas Eve

Cancelled BOG- that will have to wait until he can go to dinner too, need the "beast" to meet the " beast " :p no, really wanted first dinner there to be together so maybe around Easter ? we'll see

So, I've skimmed and caught mostly up. The important parts anyway.

I'm so glad your anniversary went well. And I agree with everyone - the smoochy picture is very sweet.

Sorry Fred won't be home for Christmas. The only reason I'm not working is we're not open, so Cale would completely sympathise with you.

Hugs from Here. I'll stop by again soon.

(and on a funny note: my Jersey accent is apparently stronger recently. Our security guard had me say Auburn about 15 times in a row yesterday because it came out "Awe- Bern")

sorry Fred can't come home for Christmas, but as you said, it's important that he has a job.

Loved the pictures from Chef Mickey's! At least you will have some time to enjoy yourself and relax!

:confused3 well how else would it be pronounced ? ;):rotfl:

 Sorry that Fred's not coming home for Christmas.

Oh its ok, its a compliment really to him, the trucking co is a teaching school also & he is an instructor so he's needed He's a great worker I know that as we worked together back in the 80's and in the trucking industry there is bound to be a slow down after the holidays

Have to make extra while he can Me too even though we had plans I would have been working around them We would not have had much time together except for the meals anyway I only have Christmas off

Hi Alison good to see you here too Weren't those pictures cute ? Of course Mickey & Pluto will think we split up once I show up without Fred :santa: We did have a great time, we will again

One more picture from Chef Mickeys This one made me laugh, I wanted a picture of this Pluto done by one of my favorite artists I didn't realize I had also captured the woman at the bottom of my frame She is looking at the picture with such an intense look on her face you would think she was studying a fine masterpiece :rotfl:

Next post capturing Christmas around some of the resorts

Ruthie,

I am so sorry that Fred won’t be home for Christmas. As usual, however, you seem to be making the best of it. And your new ADRs sound wonderful.

I love that Pluto painting - I wish I had it in my house! The woman viewing it - priceless.

Miss Willow tested positive for the flu today, so we are holed up alone in the house not able to spend time with my brother and his family (including Willow’s one and only little cousin). She is very sad - she has been looking forward to playing with her cousin for months (they only see each other twice a year). Hoping that, with the tamiflu, she can stay fever-free through tomorrow so that we can celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas day as we had long-planned. I sure hope that you enjoy your Christmas time at WDW - just wish that Fred could be there with you.

First and foremost I send you my prayers for a quick recovery for Willow I'm sure there will be much initial disappointment for you both if you end up staying home I hope that doesn't happen but I KNOW you two will have a beautiful Christmas regardless as you are together

Now I will address what you said that I placed in bold I grew up hearing older relatives laugh things off and when asked how I often heard

"Everything is in God's hands, I'm human, I get emotional, A Saint I Ain't :rolleyes1 "

I try to live like that too and I really have changed this year short fuse, Italian temper, quick to " shoot first ask questions later" type AAA personality WAS me Having survived what could have been a tragic accident and having a repaired marriage I am now the laid back easy going I can't control anything person I always wanted to be...make sense ?

The painting of Pluto in Chef Mickeys I would love that picture too The artist does a lot with the character we love That woman was priceless wasn't she, wish I knew who she was I would give her a copy of the photo

Let us know how your Christmas is ...can't wait to see the pictures...keep yourself healthy

Hi girlfriend ! I will pop right over to your TR Its okay about Fred like I said: Just a quick update for the ADRs I jumped on an earlier..more like lunch for Garden Grill tomorrow, I had originally had a 7:35 pm dinner but then I thought, " hey nut you will never be able to do that...You have to work that night at 11 pm and you KNOW local traffic..not to mention the parks will be crazy tomorrow " Fortunate there was an earlier time slot

I had been debating dumping Tusker House and I did for Christmas morning Now I can go to mass at Mary Queen of the Universe in LBV A really beautiful church with a life size nativity set that I adore

I will be sure to share pictures for those who have never seen it When I get out of work Christmas morning I managed to be off until the 27 th ..some fancy foot work there and a trade off of a few days next week of 16 hr shifts but ALL good

Chef Mickey Christmas night and in-between running home for the kids I think the 26 th will be a relaxing & chilling out kind of day poolside at POP probably won't go anywhere near a park...IF I'm smart ;)

I'm happy you are okay with Fred not coming home for Christmas. It is good you have such a wonderful outlook. I'm sure you are disappointed, but you are right take it when you can get it,the hours won't always be there.
Sounds like you still have a wonderful plan. 80's by the pool sounds good to me. And I know you, you will have plenty of company to talk to!
Love the manger story. :)
Will talk to you soon.
Merry Christmas to you Ruthie and all your wonderful followers!!!

It was a HARD year very hard...for so many people

I had some great moments with new dis meets and dis re-meets

A closer relationship with God that really stemmed from a bad accident a renewed marriage due in no small way from supportive friends and family

But so many times I felt like 2013 was a year of battle ! Never quite prepared for what was going to come at us next:

so with that in mind I say good riddance 2013 Bring on a nice clean slate and a New Year :cheer2: Happy New Year Everyone May it bring good health and many other blessings
