I wanted to share an experience from our trip this weekend.
On Saturday, my group saw Mary Poppins and Bert walking through the hub. My friend says "I'm going to go shake his hand" and takes off. He says to Bert "I want to shake your hand." Bert replies "Yes you do." He shakes his hand and says "Good luck! Now, it only lasts for 24 hours, so use it wisely."
Later that day we had 2 direct interactions with Soundsational performers and we got our desired seats for PtN and Fireworks with no difficulty. We had one of the funniest interactions with a CM named Nick, who was collecting trash before the PtN. He was doing a little physical comedy with his trash can, his grabber and giving people a hard time for missing the trash can.
Later that night, we spoke with a CM for a couple minutes at an information booth right next Dumbo and Storybook canals. It was just a friendly conversation, and we told her how disappointed we were that Peter Pan was closed. She said they were refurbing it like they did Alice. 2 people in our group had not been do DL for several years, so she gave us a readmission pass for Alice to make sure we would see the refurb and miss the half-hour line.
We gave the exit CM at Alice our pass. We talked with him while waiting for our caterpiller, and he gave us another re-admission pass for a ride of our choice!
The next morning was Father's Day and California Adventure was not busy. Everything went without a hitch. We rode Screamin' 3 times in a row because around 4pm, the line never got above 5 min. We got to see WoC from our desired spot and were able to get over to Main Street to catch PtN again. Before the parade we had ANOTHER conversation with a couple of CMs and they gave us Honorary Disneyland Citizens buttons.
After PtN, we went to Space Mountain. I noticed some of the members of the All-American College Band in line so we told them how much we love their stuff. It was such a cool experience because they were genuinely suprised and touched to be noticed in the parks and that we've seen their different sets.
The following day, the luck had clearly run out. 2 of our group experienced motion sickness for the first time in their lives. We went to ride Screamin' but it was down. We went to FP Tower of Terror but it was down. We went to FP Soarin' and they were only running one theater and only 2 of the carriages in that theater (this got fixed later in the morning). Later in Disneyland, my friend kicked a curb and cut his toe open.
Then we had to go home which was the worst luck of all!
Every time something cool happened, we just looked at eachother in confusion - like something weird was going on. It wasn't until we got home that we remembered Bert gave us a 24 hour window and in that time our trip became one of coolest trips we've ever had.
