I've never had the call center not pick up. And they're fine if you're just asking for something like extra pillows (I always need more), etc. But knowing that they're not the specific resort's front desk, I don't ask about very resort specific questions. Unfortunately one just has to walk to the front desk for those questions.
It didn't always use to be that way, I remember that before the pandemic I would get through to the front desk like a normal hotel. I assume this saves money somehow, sigh. The
Disneyland hotels (VDH, VGC) get you through to the front desk if I remember correctly from my last visit in August.
