A spoiled Disneylander’s report of our 1st trip to WDW as DVC members (2nd trip to WDW ever)

When you call the front desk at a WDW resort you are calling a call center. The only real way to talk to the front desk is to walk to the front desk. I find it interesting that a call center didn't pick up 3 out of 4 times.
Interesting, that is unfortunate. I didn't know that. Pretty sure at DLR and Aul you get to talk to the front desk. Yes 3 out of 4 times no answer.

Yep, we learned this a few years ago when we got "upgraded" to a water view at Yacht Club but that also put us in the dog wing and we had a neighbor who left his dog in the room and it would bark non-stop. Finally had to walk to the front desk to see if they could do anything about it because the call center couldn't address it.

Wow this really explains a lot. Frontdesk in person was awesome I was wondering how they could be so bad by phone. Now I know why. Didn’t help that I was at Animal Kingdom and it was a mile walk to the Frontdesk. 🤣🤣

I've never had the call center not pick up. And they're fine if you're just asking for something like extra pillows (I always need more), etc. But knowing that they're not the specific resort's front desk, I don't ask about very resort specific questions. Unfortunately one just has to walk to the front desk for those questions.

It didn't always use to be that way, I remember that before the pandemic I would get through to the front desk like a normal hotel. I assume this saves money somehow, sigh. The Disneyland hotels (VDH, VGC) get you through to the front desk if I remember correctly from my last visit in August.

Another win for west coast properties in my book.

You weren't a big fan of Epcot?! Blasphemy!

I can't wait to see what you think of CCV/Wilderness Lodge.
I know right. Next time we will be going to Epcot 1st. I am so hoping for extended hours when we go in August. We will do the resorts mostly during the day and parks in the eve. I just learned that we can use both the CCV and BRV pools, so we are very happy about that.
