Hello everyone!
Since my next trip to Disney World is 100% confirmed, I thought, I would give my first trip report a try!

First, I should include a little introduction.
My name is Angela, I'm 24 years old, will be 25 by the time my vacation gets here :)
I'm a WDW Veteran. My first trip was in 1997, when I was just 5 y/o, it was me, my mom, dad, & little sister. We stayed at All Star Music.
My next trip was in December 2005, when I was 14, this was our first time to stay at POP Century, which I have grown to call my home resort, I absolutely love it there.
Unfortunately, for my parents and sister, those 2 trips were "enough" for them, they aren't the biggest fans of the Florida heat, crowds, and waiting in lines in theme parks. They would rather just spend their vacations on some beach somewhere. *Boring*, lol.
But for me, being the Disney fan in the family, it does not stop there. I had to find a way to get myself back down to Orlando, so I did. In my time in college, I managed to complete 3 college programs with WDW, it took me an extra semester to graduate with my Bachelor's Degree, that I received in December 2014, instead of May, but it was definitely worth it!

Fast Forward to July 2016.
I've graduated, got my Bachelor's Degree in Radio/TV with an Emphasis on Video-Audio Production.
I did my time on internships, and now have a great job that I love.
I'm a production assistant & editor for a local media company, I help create both pre-recorded and live newscasts in multiple markets across the country, it's pretty awesome. :)

As of May 4th, 2016, my first solo vacation as an adult is confirmed!
April 11th-23rd, 2016: Orlando, FL.

If you can't tell by my username, I kind of love Star Wars :)
All of it, all 7 movies (yes, even the prequels), The Clone Wars, & Rebels.
Basically anything that's canon, I love it. (Sorry, no EU for me :P )

Anyways :)

On May 4th, Lucasfilm announced that the next Star Wars Celebration event will be held in Orlando, FL from April 13-16, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center. I can't tell you how badly I have wanted to attend a Star Wars Celebration, I have been trying to go to one of these events since 2010, but this thing called college has always gotten in the way, preventing me from going.
So instead, I found other things to do, like Dallas Star Wars Fan Days in 2011 & 2012, and all 5 Star Wars Weekends in 2014 & 2015 while I was working at WDW in college. Still upset SWW is cancelled now, but that's another debate for a different time.
Now, that I am finally graduated, and have a great job that has given me the time off, and means to pay for it, IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING.

I am officially attending Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017!!!!

My trip, will be a split stay. The first half of it, will be for Star Wars Celebration 2017, and the second half of it will be on Disney Property.
I am also using Dreams Unlimited Travel to book the Disney part of my trip, with this being my first solo vacation as an adult, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the planning, so hopefully this will help me out
:)

On May 25, 2016, I purchased my 4 day Star Wars Celebration Event Ticket, I tried for the VIP, which ended up being a major fail. Lol.
On May 25, I also booked my first hotel for my stay in Orlando.
April 11th, will just be a day at home packing and doing last minute planning.
From April 12-17, I will be at Best Western Orlando Gateway near the Orange County Convention Center.

EDIT: 8/4/16: I am now arriving in Orlando on April 11th, 2017 instead of April 12th. On April 12th, I will be attending a pre celebration party for one of my favorite podcasts (besides The DIS of course), Rebel Force Radio! :)

then on April 17, I will transfer on site to Disney by 12:00 Noon.

On July 2nd, 2016, I officially paid my deposit for my stay at Disney World.
From April 17-23, 2017, I will be at Disney's POP Century Resort in a Preferred Room with a 6 Day Park Hopper, Memory Maker, and The Deluxe Dining Plan!

If I'm already in Orlando for Star Wars Celebration 2017, I might as well go to Disney, too.

:)

I am so excited for the planning process of my first solo vacation, as well as working with Dreams.
Right now, I'm figuring out what ADR choices I need to make, when I get that list set in stone, that will probably be my next update. My 180 mark is in October, but I will probably have my plans ready much sooner. Heck, I've already made packing lists, lol. I'm too excited.

Hopefully I will be able to update this thread every couple weeks, and more often then that once it actually gets a little closer to my trip days: April 12-23rd, 2017!

My first update is here!!!

So, things have been going good this summer, I have been working a LOT of extra. My normal part time 4 day a week job has turned into 6-7 days a week on a regular basis this summer, while all of my co-workers at the news station are taking their vacations, I've been covering shifts. I've been really tired lately, but it will be worth it, the quicker I can pay my trip off, the better, so far, I'm right on schedule, if not ahead! :tilt:

I just got back from a mini vacation recently. Spent the weekend last week in St. Louis to watch my favorite baseball team, the Cardinals. At the game I went to, they played the LA Dodgers, and we won 4-3, after 16, yes, SIXTEEN innings. It was honestly so epic. That Matt Adams walk off home run, though! :worship:

What's changed for my vacation to ORLANDO, though? Well, I have added an extra day to the length of my trip!

Instead of arriving on April 12th, 2017, I will be arriving April 11th, 2017. Another podcast I listen to, besides The DIS, (Rebel Force Radio) is having a get together on the evening of April 12th for a pre Star Wars Celebration Bash, and of course I need to go! I already had the 11th requested off of work, because I was planning on just staying home that day and packing / resting up, but I figure I can pack throughout the week when I'm not working, instead of the day before now. Plus I can have an extra day to chill at my hotel before the con, get everything settled in.

Now my trip is officially 2 weeks long, April 11th-23rd, 2017. April 11-17 will be offsite at Best Western Gateway Orlando for Star Wars Celebration and then on the 17th I will transfer to POP Century and stay at Disney for 7 days until the 23rd with a 6 day park hopper!

Time is surprisingly going by really fast, before I know it, my 180 reservation mark will be here in October (& also my 25th birthday which is on the same week as my 180 day mark!) Until then, I will just be working, working, working, and saving, saving, saving!!!

Hopefully I will have another update for you in a few weeks :)

This sounds like a great trip! I'd love to do a solo trip someday if my next trip in March doesn't end up being solo!

Going to the parks solo is honestly awesome. I did it all the time back when I was on the college program. It's so nice going at your own pace, and not worrying about what a larger group wants to do. It's different, but also a pretty awesome experience!

Hi everyone!
A new update for you today, on August 11th, 2016!

As of now, I have my offsite Plans confirmed!

As I mentioned earlier, my trip is a split stay. I am going for Star Wars Celebration on April 13-16, I am arriving on April 11th. And my stay onsite at Disney World will be April 17-23, 2017!

While April 13-16, will be occupied with Star Wars Celebration, I will have 1.5 days beforehand to do some fun stuff!!!

On April 11th, I will fly from Arkansas to MCO, hopefully getting in Orlando around noon or 1 PM. Then, I will have the rest of the day to get settled in my first hotel, the Best Western Orlando Gateway.

After I get checked in an unpacked, I am going to be meeting my old roommate from my DCP in 2015, who still lives in Orlando, we are going to dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I am so excited, I never got to go to this restaurant during my college programs, so this will be something new for me. :)

THEN, after I eat dinner with my friend/old roommate, I am going on a Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise!!!! I am so excited for this as well, another thing I've never done. I'm not sure yet if my friend will be joining me, she doesn't know if she wants to pay for it yet. But I know I'm doing it. I can't wait to meet Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, and Peter Pan!!! Thanks to Once Upon A Time, Hook has grown to be one of my favorite characters, I think this is the only way you can actually meet the Disney Hook at Disney World, besides just seeing him randomly in EPCOT or in FoF Parade.

So there is 2 things on my bucket list of stuff I have yet to do at Disney despite living there for 18 months!

Next, is April 12th, 2017. On this day, I don't plan on making any early plans, I want to sleep in so I will be well rested for the first day of Celebration the next day. I might book a late lunch somewhere around 2 or 3 PM, I'm thinking possibly Beaches & Cream, and then I might play some Mini Golf near that area.

But for that evening, my favorite Podcast, Rebel Force Radio, is probably (they've mentioned this on Facebook, but no plans are 100% officially announced yet) going to be hosting a pre celebration bash at a location near the Convention Center, and I definitely plan on being at that party! So that will be fun!!!

Then, the next 4 days, April 13-16 will be all about Star Wars Celebration!!! I will either be at the OCC or my hotel, that's it.

On April 16, 2017, the last day of Celebration, the con should wrap around dinner time, I'm thinking of making a later dinner ADR at Shula's for a nice steak meal to kick off my Disney Week.

And that looks to be my plans for my offsite stay, before checking into POP Century on the 17th! :)

I am getting so excited. Time is going by fast, my 180 mark is only 2 months away :O

Hopefully my next update will be soon, it will probably be my ADR Choices, since that is coming up soon.

Thanks for reading :)
