Hello everyone!
Since my next trip to Disney World is 100% confirmed, I thought, I would give my first trip report a try!
First, I should include a little introduction.
My name is Angela, I'm 24 years old, will be 25 by the time my vacation gets here
I'm a WDW Veteran. My first trip was in 1997, when I was just 5 y/o, it was me, my mom, dad, & little sister. We stayed at All Star Music.
My next trip was in December 2005, when I was 14, this was our first time to stay at POP Century, which I have grown to call my home resort, I absolutely love it there.
Unfortunately, for my parents and sister, those 2 trips were "enough" for them, they aren't the biggest fans of the Florida heat, crowds, and waiting in lines in theme parks. They would rather just spend their vacations on some beach somewhere. *Boring*, lol.
But for me, being the Disney fan in the family, it does not stop there. I had to find a way to get myself back down to Orlando, so I did. In my time in college, I managed to complete 3 college programs with WDW, it took me an extra semester to graduate with my Bachelor's Degree, that I received in December 2014, instead of May, but it was definitely worth it!
Fast Forward to July 2016.
I've graduated, got my Bachelor's Degree in Radio/TV with an Emphasis on Video-Audio Production.
I did my time on internships, and now have a great job that I love.
I'm a production assistant & editor for a local media company, I help create both pre-recorded and live newscasts in multiple markets across the country, it's pretty awesome.
As of May 4th, 2016, my first solo vacation as an adult is confirmed!
April 11th-23rd, 2016: Orlando, FL.
If you can't tell by my username, I kind of love Star Wars
All of it, all 7 movies (yes, even the prequels), The Clone Wars, & Rebels.
Basically anything that's canon, I love it. (Sorry, no EU for me
)
Anyways
On May 4th, Lucasfilm announced that the next Star Wars Celebration event will be held in Orlando, FL from April 13-16, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center. I can't tell you how badly I have wanted to attend a Star Wars Celebration, I have been trying to go to one of these events since 2010, but this thing called college has always gotten in the way, preventing me from going.
So instead, I found other things to do, like Dallas Star Wars Fan Days in 2011 & 2012, and all 5 Star Wars Weekends in 2014 & 2015 while I was working at WDW in college. Still upset SWW is cancelled now, but that's another debate for a different time.
Now, that I am finally graduated, and have a great job that has given me the time off, and means to pay for it, IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING.
I am officially attending Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017!!!!
My trip, will be a split stay. The first half of it, will be for Star Wars Celebration 2017, and the second half of it will be on Disney Property.
I am also using Dreams Unlimited Travel to book the Disney part of my trip, with this being my first solo vacation as an adult, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the planning, so hopefully this will help me out
On May 25, 2016, I purchased my 4 day Star Wars Celebration Event Ticket, I tried for the VIP, which ended up being a major fail. Lol.
On May 25, I also booked my first hotel for my stay in Orlando.
April 11th, will just be a day at home packing and doing last minute planning.
From April 12-17, I will be at Best Western Orlando Gateway near the Orange County Convention Center.
EDIT: 8/4/16: I am now arriving in Orlando on April 11th, 2017 instead of April 12th. On April 12th, I will be attending a pre celebration party for one of my favorite podcasts (besides The DIS of course), Rebel Force Radio!
then on April 17, I will transfer on site to Disney by 12:00 Noon.
On July 2nd, 2016, I officially paid my deposit for my stay at Disney World.
From April 17-23, 2017, I will be at Disney's POP Century Resort in a Preferred Room with a 6 Day Park Hopper, Memory Maker, and The Deluxe Dining Plan!
If I'm already in Orlando for Star Wars Celebration 2017, I might as well go to Disney, too.

I am so excited for the planning process of my first solo vacation, as well as working with Dreams.
Right now, I'm figuring out what ADR choices I need to make, when I get that list set in stone, that will probably be my next update. My 180 mark is in October, but I will probably have my plans ready much sooner. Heck, I've already made packing lists, lol. I'm too excited.
Hopefully I will be able to update this thread every couple weeks, and more often then that once it actually gets a little closer to my trip days: April 12-23rd, 2017!
