Does anyone else find themselves all excited to share what they learn here only to get weird stares or comments about how much work it is from outside people??

My mom is a major coupon cutter and rebate queen. However, whenever I send her codes or info for MyPoints or whatever she will get all confused and say she isn't sure its "legit" or its too much work. I have stopped sending codes to the majority of people I know because they say stupid things like "it just sounds too good to be true".

I forwarded my sister and mom the thing for reviews to get amazon gift certs. My mom was like "whats all this about, it seems like too much work" and my sister said she needed to talk to her husband first. HUH?? For my sister they have a business but its not listed. I told her to list it and I'd review it for her and give her free marketing.

I give up!

I hear ya, I sent the link to the free silver jewelry website to all my girlfriends at work and none of them think that it's real...

I think there a LOT of people out there who still don't get internet shopping! Though at times I wonder... my sister does TONS of internet shopping - and had never heard of My Points (or any of the other shopping for point thingys).

She just ordered a BUNCH of stuff for her new house at Overstock - and could have been getting 10 points per dollar... sheesh - she'd would have had over 100.00 in gift cards by now..

She did finally sign up after I started reading to her the points I have... what I've gotten... AND she realized that I gather MOST of my points just by reading the mails... with a few purchases thrown in. I think she's finally getting it!!

I know what you mean. I'm such a bargain hunter--I get a true thrill when I find a good bargain--that I have a hard time remembering that most people aren't like that! My DH appreciates all my finds, but he doesn't really "get it". He good-naturedly makes fun of me at work for my cheapness.

Yes. I just sent some co-workers the codes for children's clothes and one replied back that it seemed so illegal. I tried to convince her it was all on the up and up, but I don't think I got through. Oh well, her loss. I guess I appreciate a good deal once in awhile.

My friends and family have a hard time understanding my couponing habits. It would only confuse them more if I told them about the cheap shopping I do to.
DH does "get it" , especially when I find great dals on stuff for him!

I know what you mean! When I told people I was waiting for the room only code to save money on our room at ASM they were like, "Yeahh...when u get that secret code...lol" I ended up saving almost 500.00 with that code!
Ya just cant get through to some people!

I give up!

Hi - I just joined mypoints.com - can someone give me a real idea of how this works? Thanks!

You'll love watching yourself rack up points. First, you want to make sure that you've signed up for the emails. Each time you read an email and click the "get points" button, you earn at least 5 points...even if you don't follow-thru on the offer. If you respond to an offer which has been emailed to you, you'll eventually see the additional points credited to your account. (Note: it could take up to 30 days for some to appear.)

Update your profile. You will earn points simply for updating all areas of your profile.

And anytime you're going to do some online shopping, go through the MyPoints website (making sure you're logged in) and you will earn points based on what you spend.

I spent all my points last month on some gift cards to use for our upcoming trip. Then I ordered my contacts through the 1-800-Contacts link at MyPoints and clicked every "get points" in every email that they sent me and I'm already back up over 1700 points.

Have fun!!!

This just happened to me. I was telling 2 moms today about Kohl's. One of the mom's ordered for the 1st time from Kohl's web site. I told her she should never pay for shipping since their is always a code out their somewhere from Kohl's. She asked me how I knew this and I told her to type in Codes and coupons on any search engine and tons of sites will pop up.

These two women couldn't believe either something like this exists. She got 15% off her order cause she used her Kohl's charge, but I told her she could have gotten 30% if she would of known the code that is posted.

She didn't even know their was a code for using her card that day, even though Kohl's sent out a flyer to that effect. She said she doesn't ever read them. Anyways she is also scared using her charge card and I told her to use gift cards, Kohl's lets you use gift cards to pay your bill. So does JCPenney. Kohl's even lets you use up to 2 codes per order.

I just got the 30% off coupon someone just posted-that is a huge savings from Aeropostle. My dd buys a lot from that store.
