A Sister & Brother Return! The Trip Report! Updated 10/31--Page 23!

That would be so cool to be able to just look out your window and see a giraffe. :thumbsup2

That's too bad about France not having your elephant ear, I suffered a similar disappointment on my trip so I know how you feel. :guilty:

I am so mad at France right now :rotfl: Its sad when you look forward to something at Disney and you found out they took it away :(

great update and pics.

great room you were given.

I think we are going to fantasia gardens when we go.

Also I changed the day for the ressie so I just emailed the lady for the menu and diver.

Oh, i can't wait to see it in the TR!! Fantasia Gardens was nice..it was a lot of fun, we're going to try the other one next time

Oh, so it was really an end of the first day of the school week so you need anything you can to get you through 'til Friday video treat.

And it was great! I hope you had the camera rolling a lot on your trip. I enjoyed walking through Animal Kingdom Lodge with you guys. Your room was in a great spot, and Irving was right there to greet you!

When we get around to staying in deluxes, Wilderness Lodge will be our first, because that's the one Trent really wants to stay at, and AKL will be second. For now, we go over there almost every trip for shopping, visiting Irving and his friends, and having a zebra dome or two.

I look forward to seeing much more of the fun!

P.S. I am glad you're getting everything situated with your car. :)

As you know I love, love, love the WL so you definitely made a good choice for your first deluxe :) Even if i don't stay at AKL in future trips I plan to always try and eat at Boma, one of my favorite restaurants! Yes everything got perfectly situated with the car, after a few days of speaking with her insurance, they finally called me and went "We're going to assume 100% liability we just need the quote you recieved from our partnered repair garage" which I did and now things are underway. They are giving me $30/per day for a rental car while the car is being fixed, I can't wait to see her all new again!

PS: Tell Jill our plans for october are not concrete except for a few things. I am going with my cousin Michael and besides MNSSHP I'm not sure how many park tickets he is going to by and therefore i won't know the exact dates until next week. Heres whats official: We are staying at Pop Century at least from Oct. 8th-10th...and we are going to MNSSHP on the 9th :) I hope we'll bump into eachother!

You had a giraffe right outside your room!!! That is so awesome!!! I will have to show my DD, Chelsea, when she wakes up since she is currently on a giraffe kick -- she will love the pics and video!!!

That's too bad about the Elephant Ears in France :(.

Hope she got a kick out of the giraffe!! We did!!

What an incredible view! I didn't realize just how close some rooms are to the animals. That must have been so exciting.

Yeah we didn't think we'd even see animals! lol! And to be that close was just AMAZING

I'm FINALLY caught up! You two look like you had a lot of fun! Great pics and stories. :thumbsup2

Haha! We had a great time, thanks for taking the time to read our adventures!

Mission Space Orange! The only way to travel. :thumbsup2

The animals just outside my balcony is the main reason why I want to stay at AKL.

Yeah, Mission Space Orange, go team! Its tough to decide between AKL and WL i love them both!! I say go for AKL if you can book savannah, otherwise WL all the way!

I am glad that the car accident was not too major and that you were not at fault. :)

That's so awesome that you had a giraffe just outside your window!! Irving, that's so cute. :rotfl:

I'm jealous that you did M:S, we didn't get to do it when we were there in April. I would have to ride the less intense side. ;) The last time I rode was a few years ago, before they had two sides, and I almost got sick. I was between my brother and a stranger, and I was concerned about ruining the ride for the stranger forever. :rotfl: My brother would have forgiven me.

I get car sick really easy and I didn't get nauseous on Mission Space. I was slightly dizzy afterwards or a couple of minutes but as long as you keep your head straight and don't think about it too much, i don't think its that big of a deal.

I forgot to add - sorry you were in the accident! I'm so glad you're ok.

Haha, thanks! No injuries were sustained except to my car! lol

Great update! Isn't it so cool at the AKL to just look out your window and see all those animals?! Unfortunately when we were there in May there weren't too many because of the construction so if we wanted to see the animals we had to go to the other observation areas. But on our last day there was a giraffe right outside. :goodvibes I think we must've been in the same room as you (or very close) only up a couple more floors because we were really close to the lobby as well. That view looks very familiar!

Yeah our room location was awesome, and you can hear us talking to the people on the viewing area, because it was right next door.

Awwwww man. I thought I'd decided on WL. Thanks guys:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Haha!! Thats a tough one I couldn't decide! I say throw both names in a hat and pull one out!

Wow, I just finished reading and I am loving it so far. I think it's great that you and your brother get along so well. My brother and I get along a lot better now that we are older, but when we were younger, there is no way we would have been able to stand eachother to go anywhere together! You are really lucky and I hope you always stay this close!! Anyway, can't wait to hear more!!:thumbsup2

We didn't get along years ago when we were younger, but the gap in our age helps. Thanks for reading!

Lucky to have such a great room, view and close to lobby. Giraffe pics are so special. I can only dream of staying there. Glad to hear David got to ride MS. I will never ride that, I'm too afraid of getting sick. Not worth the chance since I have suffered from Vertigo before, not fun at all. I'm happy for anyone who can ride it, it sounds like an experience. You have had bad luck with several food items this trip. They will always have Dole Whip so you'll never be dissapointed there !!! :yay:

Would you go on the green side? I get car sick really easily, but I didn't get that dizzy after MS so at least the green side is worth a try! I know, what is with the food this trip? :rotfl:

Another great report Nicole. I love the view from your room and Wow! your own giraffe. How cool is that! It was fun watching your video through the lobby and your room. Sounds like you guys had a great time that day!! Looking forward to hearing more!!!

Cathy

What a great room and view! The giraffe was darling  I have only stayed at BWV and hope to one day stay at AKL - it looks so beautiful!

Thanks for the tip, Mike, about MS - I tend to want to look around in rides and I would get so sick on MS if I don't keep my head focused straight ahead (I'm going to ride it in December for the first time - should I do the mild version first?)

Note: I will no longer include the

image because I realize it takes out of the 2 images. Instead, look for David's Thoughts:

So today was our first official Epcot morning. Even though we were there the night before, we still got up at park opening and its a good thing we did because crowds were BAD!

We stopped to eat a quick bite at Mara and than arrived at the park just as it was opened, perfect!

We marched with the rest of the ants to Soarin to get FP but David went down stairs by himself to get them. Only problem was 10 minutes later he still wasn't back up so I got a little worried. Luckily he surfaced, he said the guy in front of him was getting FP for like 20 people. We left the land for test track.

IMG_4901.jpg

Even though the park opened 15 minutes ago, Test Track had a wait!! We made a funny pose on the ride

image199.jpg

We couldn't FP Mission: Space yet, so we walked back to the other side of FW and went on Nemo...so relaxing!!

IMG_4907.jpg

Finally it was time for my fave epcot ride, Soarin! We walked right on with our FP wahoo!

IMG_4909.jpg

IMG_4910.jpg

David needed some more club cool so we went there, and than it was time for the world showcase to open, yipee!

IMG_4915.jpg

Our first stop was England to see the players. They are so funny and they were scheduled to be out soon. We walked through the pavillion for a while since we were early than went outside to sit and wait. They never showed! Instead we got a visit from a very dark and scary storm cloud!! Our first rain of the trip and it was a doozy!!

IMG_4916.jpg

IMG_4921.jpg

The rain didn't start yet as we walked over to France, whom I was mad at so I refused to walk through the pavillion. Teach them to take away my elephant ear!!

Like the fury of the french gods that felt my wrath, as soon as we walked past France, KABOOM!!

IMG_4925.jpg

IMG_4926.jpg

IMG_4927.jpg

We tried, we really did, to fight it. I mean after all, World Showcase was EMPTY! We had it to ourselves, and we were already drenched...but we couldn't take it any longer! We had to duck for cover it was lunch time anyway, to America!

IMG_4930.jpg

Burgers were standard here, but I loved the apple pie!! I want to go back there just for the pie!! While eating we were entertained!

IMG_4937.jpg

David gave away his rice krispie treat to a neighboring family, and we added some karma for the day (comes in play later)

When we finished, the rain subsided and David made a mask to look like the joker, and we walked back towards england to leave Epcot.

David's Thoughts:[Why so serious?

IMG_4940.jpg

IMG_4941.jpg

IMG_4943.jpg

On the way out GUESS WHO WE SAW? My favorite disney character of all time, WITH NO LINE!! It was mary poppins! The one and only!!

IMG_4946.jpg

With her was Alice, who was in a very cheerful mood, she was so funny! She asked David if we traveled by rabbit hole, and when he said "no we traveled by pavement" she went "oh, well rabbit hole is the fastest way to travel you know!" David found this encounter funny. Isn't it always great when these characters interact with you?? Thumbs up for england! You are not on my list...like France!

David's Thoughts: Honestly, rabbit hole is the quickest way to travel. Good advice.

IMG_4947.jpg

We made our exit back for a nap at AKL! Irving was back to greet us, and he had brought some FRIENDS!! Pictures of that coming up, as well as an evening at AK..do I FINALLY get to see the AK parade?? And we get to meet some DIS celebs at Boma!

The joker says...WHY SO SERIOUS??

Hi Nicole- I'm signing on to read!

Ah, great to see you, welcome!

Another great report Nicole. I love the view from your room and Wow! your own giraffe. How cool is that! It was fun watching your video through the lobby and your room. Sounds like you guys had a great time that day!! Looking forward to hearing more!!!

Cathy

We really loved our giraffe haha, he was our buddy!

Great report.

thanks!

She loved it! She giggled hysterically over David's two voilas! I had to laugh at your excitement about seeing the giraffe -- I would have been the same way!

Glad she got a kick out of David, I know he cracks himself up!

What a great room and view! The giraffe was darling  I have only stayed at BWV and hope to one day stay at AKL - it looks so beautiful!

Yeah definitely dont look to the sides, they warn you a lot about that though

Cannot wait to read more Nic. :) I wanna go to disney with you sometime. LOL.

ME TOO! We should plan an all girls trip!

Lets do this, im flexible!

David's joker mask looks awesome. I like his lanyard, too (I got the exact same one for my keys ;) Makes it a LITTLE harder to lose them.)

I love your Test Track picture. I have a similar one :rotfl: We love posing on rides and have even had discussions beforehand about what we should do.

great update and pics.

that was some serious rain. :scared1:

Thanks. I still have it, it's awesome. And for most of the rides (except for Mummy as I stated earlier), we did plan before we got on the ride. On the mummy, she literally just grabbed me. :lmao:

Soarin' is my favorite Epcot ride! :goodvibes

I'll have to remember that there is great apple pie in the American pavillion.

Can't wait to see Irving and his friends!

Lots of good pictures! I am so glad you got to see your good friend, Mary Poppins!

I like getting pictures of the empty side streets in World Showcase. Without all the tourists in the pictures, you can appreciate the architectural detail Disney put into each country.

David looks good in his hat. He seems to be enjoying himself on this magical trip.
