A Sister & Brother Return! AKL Bound! 8/1 Update pg. 46! AND WE'RE OFF!!

I'm seeing a lot of inequality in our days here.

You - out on the streets of NY, walking through the park, at the zoo, getting dreams at World of Disney

Me- cooped up in a classroom, fifteen minutes on the playground, my kids act like they belong in a zoo, not a dream in sight

What are you doing so right and/or what am I doing so wrong????

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks like a wonderful, beautiful, very good day!

I keep reminding myself that I do what I do so that I can do what I want to do.
Does that make sense? That's lots of little bitty words, but I think they have a lot of meaning.

I really hope it works out for some of you guys to meet up before you're out of there.

I am around the first weekend in May. I wanna see you even if the diser's don't get together. :) I am going to miss ya while you are home for the summer. :)

We will definitely see each other you can count on that!

Sounds like a wonderful day.

It was a great day, thanks for reading!

u were up by me. sounds like a great day.

I thought you lived on the upper west side...beautiful area

Unfortunately I am teaching a two weekend long class, and the first weekend is that weekend. I am on vacation this week coming up, so if you want to meet for lunch one day, I think NativeNYer is home too...maybe we can do a spring break meet mid week...it is up to you guys...

Oh that sounds great! We'll have to work out a time and place!

What a wonderful day!

You took some gorgeous pics today.

It's so cool that you got a dream at WOD store!

I think we all have good days and bad days! Today was a good day, classes over at 12pm :) Tuesdays? NotSoMuch. Classes over at 12pm Work starts at 1pm until 10pm :scared1: I hope we can meet too!

What a gorgeous day out today!! Perfect Disney weather!

I was thinking of walking around Canal Street or maybe going to the Museum of Natural History (I've never been!!) If anyone is in the NYC area and wants to hang out, let me know, I have my iPhone so i can check! :)

You did exactly what we did about a week ago! We went to the museum and then walked all the way across the park to the Enchanted fountain (thats what I call it anyways)!!! The people I was with didn't let me in the Disney store, they aren't into Disney but I looked at it and snapped a sad pic from across the street!

Your day seemed awesome tho! We go to the central park zoo at least once a year, my fav are the penguins! I still have yet to go to the bronx zoo.

BTW did you pay full price for the museum??? I hope not, because the price is "suggested" and you can really pay as little as you want. 2 of us paid $20 last time, and at the Met we usually pay less. I love the met...have u been there yet???

We so need to do a meet up!!!!

No fair, your NY pics make me want to jump on the next plane to the big apple!:upsidedow

Before the kids I used to go quite often. Love musicals, and have seen them all --Phantom(4 times), Les Miz, Rent, Sunset Blvd., Annie, Ms. Saigon.... etc.

But lately, only Disney ones: B&B, Lion King (4 times) :lovestruc Hoping to see Little Mermaid in the wintertime....

My other current fave is Wicked (seen 3 times).

Love NY! As a single girl, dreamt about living there.

(Now how in the heck did I end up Houston??!!! :rolleyes1 )

Love your pics, keep em comin'! :)

My friend had told me that, but I paid the student rate of $11 for general admission and heres what happened...I wanted to go to the butterfly garden "no you need seperate admission" fine...I wanted to go the water thing they had (you can see the banner on the front of the museum) "no you need seperate admission" so i march down to the ticketing and tell them I want to see those 2 exhibits which i figure is MAYBE 10$ extra...the guy was gonna charge me $20!! I was like "wait what? they arent just exhibits" hes like "no theyre shows and you have to go at this time" I was so confused so I was done -- Disney can nickel and dime me because they ROCK and sometimes its for a good reason, but a museum can not.

The MET is next on my list! I've always wanted to go there

I'm looking forward to a meet up, maybe we can go to the MET! :rotfl:

I inquired about Mary Poppins at the disney store, they said it was really good maybe I can swing it before I leave but i'd probably go solo...I also really wanted to see Wicked but I can try and see that back in FL, Mary Poppins is strictly here for now!! I'm gonna miss NY for sure but i plan on coming back with a degree in my hands (thats the plan anyway!)

I would love to go to the met...I have been there so many times I know my way around! Anyone for a WoD/Met meet????

They did the same to us with the weird separate admissions...i was mad I wanted to do the planetarium but we decided to save the $.

Watching right now! :woohoo:

It was okay...I think they could have done a lot more splurging...but honestly, i don't think anyone needs a tv special to show them how to spend a lot of money at disney! :rotfl:

So i've been checking Disneyworld.com every so often since I booked the POP room standard to see if Preferred became available. A few days before Free Dining was announced, all rooms were booked: Preferred or otherwise, so I just gave up hoping for the best. This morning I logged on thinking "well maybe some families rescheduled their trip" and i was delghted to find that both preferred and standard rooms were available! I immediately called and changed the reservation to preferred room and had her note on the booking we would like the 60s! Last time at POP, i just loved the location of the room being so close to everything. We had the best of both worlds because we weren't facing the 60s courtyard but we were around the corner facing the woods. We were so close and yet it was quiet at night. I just didn't want to take the chance of being so far away, and the extra $10 a night is worth it to me I guess :confused3 In the grand scheme of all that I am spending on this vacation, I can justify the extra $60 :rotfl: Like all things that I do though, i'm struggling a bit with the decision, teetering back and forth between "we'll be closer" and "But a different section could be a new experience" I'll sit on the preferred room for a while and make sure to be complete in my decision before the 45 day mark :)

I'm going to post my updated itinerary today, and I think later today or tomorrow i'm taping the podcast! I'm excited and a bit nervous :scared1:
