Sorry for the lack of pictures but I have a 20 month old who refuses to sit in a highchair but rather on my lap. And so basically, all I have time to do is choke on my meals lol.
Dec. 23 Dinner at The Crystal Palace- We enjoyed this buffet in May but not this time. The food was awful and the service was worse. We will not be back.
Dec. 24- Snacks from the Bakery at the French pavilion. Everything was delicious. We had a cheese plate, ham and cheese baguette, ham and cheese croissant, and a plain croissant.
Dinner at Fulton's Crabhouse- This was my husband's favorite meal. He had the lobster bisque to start. I had fish tacos. I found them to be too spicy to enjoy. And I like spicy food but whatever they used, destroyed the flavor of everything and all I could taste was spice. My kids only eat mac and cheese and so they enjoyed that this was on the kid's menu. For our entrees we ordered the lobster and crab feast. It was excellent. We are not ones for butter and salt and enjoy our food seasoned as naturally as possible. And the crab and lobster were cooked as such. We would definately go back to Fulton's just for that dish. And for dinner we shared the cookie ice cream sundae! Amazing! We were on the deluxe dining plan and could have ordered one each but just one dessert was big enough for the both of us. DD had plain vanilla ice cream. DS was asleep and missed dessert.
Dec. 25- Brunch at Chef Mickey's- We like eating breakfast here so we enjoyed the brunch. I really didn't notice what was different but it was good for what it was and we will be back.
Dinner at La Hacienda De San Angel- DH and I split a premium tequila flight. The red one was delicious and I would drink that shot again. I also had my favorite avocado margarita and a blueberry margarita. I had the cheese queso without meat for my appetizer. It was okay but I don't think I would order it again. I was expecting more of a creamy cheese and would have enjoyed that better. DD ordered the cheese quesadilla. She ate it out of hunger but preferred Mac and cheese again, which they did not have. DS didn't even eat one bite of his grilled chicken but rather ate countless tortilla chips. DH ordered the taco trio and greatly enjoyed it. For our entrees, we both ordered the shrimp tacos. We were enjoying our meal until DH found a hair in his! This is his pet peeve. I gave him my dish to eat as I was feeling somewhat full. Since we were on the dining plan, the waitress was kind enough to take my two margaritas off the bill in place of our unedible food.we ordered the apple and vanilla ice cream dessert to share but didn't really care for it. I don't think we will eat here again. The service was extremely slow and the hair in the food really turned us off. This was the first time we ate here and have now decided we prefer San Angel over La Hacienda.
Dec. 26- Lunch Hollywood and Vine- We surprisingly enjoyed this buffet. I was excited to find they had lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese which was pretty good. I liked that they had tuna as well but would have liked it better if they hadn't used so much relish. I only eat fish and so this buffet worked well for me. DH who hates buffet enjoyed it as well.
Dinner at Chefs De France- This used to be a favorite of ours until this meal. Unfortunately something has changed and although this was a must do restaurant for us, it is no longer and we will not be back. First, 5 year old DD dropped her crayon and went on the floor to get it. When she popped back up, she had a huge piece of glass in her hand and the waitress happened to come by at the same time to as if we were ready to order. I saw the glass in DD's hand and freaked out. The waitress seemed to careless and said well she wasn't hurt and brushed it off like no big deal. Hmmm well it is obvious she doesn't have kids as no parent would be okay with their 5 year old picking up glass off the floor regardless of whether they were cut or not. I was upset that she picked it up in the first place and that the restaurant hadn't noticed a huge piece of glass on their floor. Anyway, my kid's didn't like the menu so we asked if they had Mac and cheese and they said yes. However, it turned out to be their version of it and was made with white cheese which my DD will not eat. So DD ate bread and DS drank soy milk. DH and I both ordered our favorite appetizer, lobster bisque and it was very good as usual. However, our entrees were small and overpriced. I ordered the shrimp and scallop dish without the bacon broth and it literally had 2 shrimps and 3 scallops and 2 pieces of broccoli. For the price, I was expecting a bit more. DH ordered steak and liked it for what it was but felt the restaurant has went downhill and we will not be back. We didn't order any dessert as DD passed out on the table.
