A silly thought

Does anyone else feel like Disneyland is missing a golden opportunity in not turning Pizza Port into Pizza Planet? It fits the land, Pizza Planet is iconic and Pizza Port is generic.

Do you mean just add Pizza Planet (aka Toy Story) decorations or actually turn it into a pizza and arcade style location (like the one at DHS)?

Neat idea, but unfortunately I think they want to keep the Pixar characters in DCA and redo Tomorrowland with a Star Wars theme.

I don't see them getting rid of Astro Blasters, so I don't think they'll go full Star Wars in that area. I'm not sure of there is the space in Pizza Port for a full arcade, so probably just theming.

In honesty I have mixed emotions about converted Pizza Port into Pizza Planet. I really like the little green aliens from Toy Story and would be fine if they added in Toy Story themed decor to Pizza Port and renamed it Pizza Planet. However, having been to Pizza Planet in DHS, I have to say that the arcade games makes it pretty noisy with lots of chaos. I kind of like the quieter back area of Pizza Port (outside the main building, looking at the waiting area for Captain EO).

I agree with figment_jii. A rename would be cool, but an actual arcade would be too much. :)

Does the Empire even have pizza? :rotfl:
Yep!

They also had blue bantha milk, and I think the rebels invented the Powerbar.

I agree with others that they will never go all the way with it, but I think they are missing out by not turning Innoventions into a Star Wars restaurant with atmosphere characters (like the old Star Trek restaurant at the Las Vegas Hilton). Perhaps one floor themed like the cantina in the first movie doing QS, and another being a more high-tech themed area with table service. They could have huge markups and still do enormous volume. And the whole thing would be cheaper than a new Star Wars attraction, even figuring in the cost of all the costumed characters.

I'm sure there would be problems with logistics (people crowding around for photos and blocking walkways would be a huge problem) but Disney has talented people working from more than a half-century of experience to figure these things out.

Move the lame Marvel promotion stuff to the Pizza Port, because nobody would ever eat there again once the Star Wars Cantina opened for business.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is Pixar and in Tomorrowland. I think Pizza Planet is a cute idea. Loved it in WDW. :thumbsup2

My husband would pay a ridiculous amount of money to eat in a Star Wars restaurant.

I have thought this since we first visited in 2011. Every time I look at my photos I expect to see the words 'Pizza Planet' instead of 'Pizza Port'. I agree, an actual arcade isn't necessary, just better theming :thumbsup2

I'm not sure it would really fit into the "World of Tomorrow" theme?

I always wondered that myself. They don't need to do the arcade and there is one right next door, or was until it become mostly retail.

Am I the only one who doesn't care what they call it as long as they improve the food?

Nothing else in tomorrowland does either.

I never understand this comment when it surfaces here on DIS.

I personally do not have the ability to soar in a rocket, ride in a submarine, or zoom through space.

For the "every man" to be able to do these things is still a future concept. As is many of the things inside Innoventions.
