A Salute to Food & Wine but Mostly Wine..12/21 FINAL THOUGHTS...a Solo Trip Adventure

I'm planning on lots and lots and lots of pictures! :goodvibes

Lots and lots of pictures are good! :thumbsup2

Your pictures are just incredible. The one of the Castle and the Monorail ones are my favorites from this installment! I need to head over to the Photography board and get some tips before our trip.

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

That is so funny about seeing Lance Bass! I probably wouldn't recognize him because I'm "Hollywood Stupid", but <looks both ways>, shhhh...I have a closet love of N*Sync. I even saw them in concert once-it was super fantastic! Hee hee!
Your secret is safe with me! ;)

Great update. The celebrity siting was neat. I've never run into anyone at Disney, but saw Adam Sandler at a restaurant it NYC once, and swore that Sylvester Stallone walked past me once. No George Clooney for me either.

I'm really, really hoping for a good discount code now so I can stay at a nice Epcot resort.

I love Adam Sandler! That is exciting!! I will pray to the discount gods for you. I'm working on a discount dance... I'll let you know when it's finished. ;)

Christine,

I am enjoying your trip report and can't wait to hear the rest. :thumbsup2
I live in Fla. about 1 hour away from DW I am going to the F&WF for the first time this weekend. I too decided that I may as well make it an annual pass (especially since I can go any time I want) but will probably have to go solo more often than not so I have been reading up on solo Disers for tips. Everyone seems to agree that it is both wonderful and weird. Hope it is mostly wonderful:goodvibes

Thanks so much! Welcome!! An annual pass opens up lots of opportunities, that's for sure. And being so close you'll hopefully be able to take advantage of quite a few of them. Have fun at F&W... let us know what you think! Definitely mostly wonderful... it's WDW!! :goodvibes

I forgot to say on my previous post that I love your new shirt. I've seen that on a few other TRs and think it's just awesome! :thumbsup2

My DD got the monorail shirt this last trip too. It's very cute. Pretty cool about the Lance Bass sighting. I'm shameless...I would have whipped out my camera and zoomed right in! :rotfl:

I'm here finally! It's kinda weird to see "my" pictures in someone else's report.

I saw this set up later in the week but with people. I think it was a corporate dinner....it was cold and windy that night so I doubt they enjoyed it very much.

Break over. Time to motivate. I still have Soarin to ride and then dinner at Tutto. Off I go. On my way out, they were setting this up on the beach:

Doesn’t that just look divine? I never saw what type of event it was but I’m guessing a wedding party or something.

Thanks! I think it's a cute shirt too! I haven't worn it in the "real world" yet... I'm curious to see if "normal" people get it or only the Disney geeks? :confused3

I'm so glad you're here! :goodvibes How was your trip? Can't wait to hear all about it! Same set up on a different night, huh? Would be a great spot for a DIS'er/Lapuette meet. Wonder if it's affordable. :lmao:

So have you been checking out the deal from Disney? :rolleyes1

I have... but don't think it's that great of a deal for me. I have a hard time adding in a 7 day trip now. I could easily do 5 days... but then I'd only get 1 day free (so that's like 20% off). I have the AP so I don't need tix either:confused3

I think its a pretty good deal for anyone that can go a whole week and needs tix... expecially if they can snag the gift card.

How bout everyone else???

Paula

Funny! I was just posting on Paula's TR that I have to do the math on this b/c I have the AP and don't need the tix. Plus I tend to do shorter stays especially if a solo trip. And I already have tentative plans for a March vacation. But I'm like Pavlov's dog and a Disney deal has me scheming to take advantage of it as if the world will end if I don't!

Me too! What is really getting me is the Pirate & Princess Party. I want to go to one of those so badly!!

the P&PP is AWESOME!!! we did it in Feb. If I was taking advantage of it, I'd really have to figure out what I wanted to do... My AP expires in Feb, if I go after that, I'll need to get my new AP then instead of over the summer. Such decisions!!!! I already have 2 trips planned for '09' but I really want to add another one that involves either friends or even another solo!!
Going during P&PP would be wonderful:rolleyes1

Paula

I really want to go. I am batting my best puppy dog eyelashes to Marc but so far he won't commit. I know I can wear him down eventually. I told him if we went in May I was willing to shorten our December trip to 5 or 6 nights. I can compromise! ;)

You are what they call an enabler, Miss Paula! :lmao:

Who Me???:rotfl:
I'm just saying.... it's a GREAT time to go.... and if Marc doesn't want to.... hmmmm ....I'm sure we can think of SOMETHING!!!!

(that's assuming the beer doesn't work, of course:rolleyes1 )

when I saw hints of this on the boards this morning, I called my SIL to see if she wanted to take the kids for spring break. The deal would have been pretty good (room and tickets for 7 nights/8 days at Pop Century were coming out at $1200 for 1 adult and 2 kids) and the $200 gift card would have helped pay for a few meals.

But DH had to bring me back to reality (darn him!) We really need to pay off some financial commitments before taking another vacation. so now I am feeling very  tonight.

He was drinking beer when he agreed to the December trip. Maybe I should talk about those opening doors at DHS again. -:rotfl2:

You can tell him that I discovered that you can't try opening the doors when the Christmas lights are up.....they have it roped off.......wouldn't be a problem in May :rolleyes1

He told me I could book but that was after he laid on the financial guilt. :headache: I am so torn right now it's not even funny.

Heidi! I can always count on you with the proper convincing husband ammo! :rotfl2:
