A Salute to Food & Wine but Mostly Wine..12/21 FINAL THOUGHTS...a Solo Trip Adventure

I like the Vera back pack. I think I have the smaller of the two. But remember that it's only me I have to carry things for. And I travel fairly light at the parks. Tickets, chapstick, $ and camera. That's about it.

Those are about the only things I start out with, but by the end of the day you can add several purchases, maps, and oddball things to the mix.

HAPPY SINGLE DIGIT DAY!

HAPPY SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!

My thinking exactly! It's ALL about countdowns for me at this point. 7 more work days. 10 more sleeps. 1 more episode of Brothers & Sisters (love that show!) Everything I think of is in the context of how it relates to Disney! Is that normal? :confused3

Absolutely!! Happy 9!

And, where do you buy Crocs? I like the Mary Jane style I have seen on recent TRs (such as LL's). I am not normally a Croc fan, but those are very cute! I am on the hunt for another pair of park shoes...

Will you become a weather stalker now? It's always something that I find myself looking at every morning!

And yes, it is completely normal to find yourself thinking about Disney all the time now that you are so close! :goodvibes

Try shoebuy.com, shoes.com or zappos.com. And you have to try the great site LL told us about retailmenot.com where you can get coupon codes! :thumbsup2

Oh yes. Bonafide weather stalker. 81 and sunny w/ 10% chance of rain for day 2! :cool1: I'm starting to wonder at what point do I just give up and forget about work? I suppose 8 days out is a little too early. :confused3

8 days left! You HAVE to be soooo excited! To heck with work...concentrate on Disney! :rotfl: JK! Your going to have a blast at F&W. We just got back Monday and wish we were there still (nearly two weeks was not enough)! LOL! Post-Disney blues stink! Can't wait to hear about your adventures to keep me going!

Oh trust me. I am SOOOO excited. Almost too excited to sleep, in fact. ;) I can't wait. One week from tonight I will be getting ready for Illuminations to start. Preferably w/ a grand marnier slushie in my hand. :cloud9:

ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!
:cool1:  :dance3:  :cool1:

Thank you! I will check those all out.

ONE WEEK! :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay:

How's the to do list going? Hopefully it's coming along well and you won't end up with a million things to do the night before you leave. But then again...chances are you won't be sleeping anyway, maybe it will make the time go faster!! ;)

I need to try and mix those up at home! :drinking1

If you find the recipe, let me know!

So I'm in the final stretch. Five days according to my ticker. Since it's already 7:30pm it's really more like four. Four days!?!? :scared1: :cool1:

Where did the time go? I can't believe I booked this back in January. I remember thinking that April (my ADR window) would never come and now here I am 4/5 days away! With so much to do!

I started pulling my summer clothes together (good thing I was too lazy to really put them away in the first place  ). I've got a fairly wide variety of park shoes at the ready- mix of crocs, sneaks and flips. My camera battery is charging as we speak. My various computer cords are gathered together and ready to go.

I still need a LGMH. And a trip journal.

I just found out that one of my friends will be in the world at the same time so I will be meeting up with her and her son. Is it wrong that my first thought was what will this do to the planning spreadsheet?

And I have another friend who may decide to come down and bunk on the couch at the last minute.

And there are some meets I'm aware of while I'm there.

So I'm hoping it's a good mix of the solo time and some social interaction.

So far weather is looking ok. Scattered t-storms every day but that's Florida. I have a poncho and have vowed not to let rain stop me. I am, however, hoping to get some pool time in at Stormalong Bay!

I don't think I'll have time to do a custom iron-on t-shirt. I'll just have to go to MNSSHP as me. Which, depending on who you ask, is scary enough!

Next week at this time I will be dining at Downtown Disney. I have a preventative Raglan Rd ADR but WPE and EoS are still on the table.

Any requests while I'm down there? Anything I can research, photograph, eat or drink for you? ;) Yep, that's me... willing to sacrifice for the greater good. :)

All this planning for this trip and I realize I have done basically NOTHING for December. I have one ADR for the candlelight processional and a reservation for the holiday decorations tour and that's it! I'm planning to stay at Pop but now I'm dying to see if I could switch to Wilderness Lodge. Maybe I'll call now... :rolleyes1

5 Days wow!

We all appreciate your sacrifice for us! :rotfl2: Since you will be down 2 weeks before me, can you have a beer or similar for me? :drinking1

What? :scared1: I am actually thinking that I may have too many ADRs for my December trip. I was looking at the Mousefest schedule and I will need to compare my ADRs to the schedule and see if there are some that I should change.

Five Days!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am so looking forward to your report!

Thanks! I am looking forward to sharing it!

I know!! What kind of DISer am I??? I've been so caught up in Oct that I've neglected December! But I have so many ADR's for Oct that I was thinking that I might enjoy Counter Service in Dec. :scared: I'm hoping that I may actually see Pirata y Pericho open for business! And I'm a burger and fries kinda gal. Do I sound like I'm talking myself into it? I've never been to Mousefest so am not quite sure what to expect. I hope that I'll get the opportunity to meet you in person!

When we get closer to our December trips, we will need to compare notes to see if we are planning on attending some of the same MouseFest events. This will be my first MouseFest also so I am not really sure how much I should plan on doing.

Hey Christine... I'm home!! Did ya miss me:cloud9:

Do the ADRS... I thought CS would be the way to go, but uuugghhhh
Way too much of the same thing! And I'm not surewhen it happened, but the CS meals seemed to have shrunk:confused3 Definately needed 3/day on the all CS days... instead of my ususal 2 meals....wierd really.

Hope you :confused3 get all your stuff done...and still manage to do some work-at-work too:rotfl2:

I DID miss you! I was thinking about you and your trip! I can't wait to hear about it. I'm thinking quantity of food will not be an issue w/ Food & Wine. Did you check that out? Any favorites? I'm starting to wonder how many pounds a person can gain in 5 days? Shall I go for the world record?? ;)

I did do F&W... Now mind you, I'm not the most adventurous eater, and I don't like seafood (except for fried mild fish....like Long John Silvers:) ) I really hit the desserts... they were very good for the most part. I was suprised at how much cha-ching I dropped in one afternoon at F&W. Most everything is just a couple bites, and costs about $3-4 it really adds up:rotfl: And I didn't have any wine!!! well...almost didn't have any:eek:

I really liked the Maple Custard at Canada and the Chocolate Mousse at France was good too.

The best thing I bought though... if you stop at one of the festival souvinier booths that sells the F&W shirts and stuff... they have Gift cards on little stretchy bracelets!!! I put $50 on it and walked around with it on my wrist, so I didn't have to dig for $$$. They said it's reloadable too, so I'm going to keep it to take on my next trip:thumbsup2
