A Salute to Food & Wine but Mostly Wine..12/21 FINAL THOUGHTS...a Solo Trip Adventure

never seen HSM?? I'm prob too old to like them as much as I do but I love 'em!

Just wanted to let you know, I'm here! I haven't read your TR yet, but looking forward to it....popcorn::

All caught up and loving your plans! :goodvibes WOO-HOO on the ME mail! And it reminded me I need to call Disney and give them our flight information....:surfweb:

I would just LOVE a Solo Trip. I love my hubby and baby too, but I am an extroverted (not shy) introvert (I love being alone). A long weeked in the World to wander by myself, stay out late and sleep in...:cloud9: And of course, to just lay around poolside! My DH, who is very much not one who loves to be alone just doesn't get the Solo Trip idea....all well...at least he loves to go!!

I know! I'd better get cracking. I might as well fess up that I have a lot of Disney/Pixar movies I need to catch up on. Never seen: Cars, Ratatouille (sp?), Finding Nemo, HSM. Seen but so long ago don't really remember: Toy Story, Alladin, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid.

Between this and new fall TV I may never leave my couch!!

Yay for Magical Express documents!!

Yes, that makes it all the more real! Although I think last time I went I got actual plastic luggage tags and this time I just got stickers.

Oh and I mentioned this on your TR but love your new photo signature! :thumbsup2

Welcome! Thanks for coming over. An extroverted introvert... wonder how many of those there are around! ;) I hope a solo trip will be as cool as I think it will be... I guess I'll let you guys know!! Very cool that your DH likes to go. I think that will be a must as I continue the quest for Mr. Right!!

Ahh you have never seen Finding Nemo?! That is my favorite Pixar movie ever!! And Cars is pretty sweet too. Really though, all of them are good. But Nemo is definitely the best IMO. :)

Oh yes, and I LOOOOOOOVE High School Musical (and I'm 23 :rotfl: ).

Congrats on getting the Magical Express stuff!

I got the below email today from Disney telling me that "now is the time to plan your dining." Ummm... yeah... how 'bout I had my ADR's 5 months ago????"

To be fair, I'm not sure if this email was sent in reference to my October or December trip (I know... to be so lucky as to have the issue of distinguishing b/w 2 trips!) but still... no wonder the "un-Disney-educated" get frustrated with the system. If Disney isn't advising ppl 'til 1-3 months out they need ADR's when those in the know have had the full 180 days that doesn't seem right. Although as someone "in the know" with the supposed 180 day advantage who still had trouble getting Le Cellier for ANY night during my Oct stay perhaps I should keep my mouth shut. :rolleyes1 I did, ultimately, get a Le Cellier ADR but when calling at 8am at precisely 180 days out I hadn't anticipated such a task.

I was hoping that this email signaled the beginning of being able to book ADR's online but no such luck.

It is a bit interesting the restaurants they featured. I've heard very good things about Yachtsman Steak House, although never been myself. I believe Samantha Brown went in her Travel Channel special. ;) Coral Reef I have heard increasingly positive things about. And Citricos I'm not sure I've really heard a whole lot of buzz on. Any opinions on these 3? I presume that if Disney is advertising them that they tend to have the most availability??

Here's a link to the Disney Dining Finder per the email

I think that Disney mail is VERY exciting! I just love when things like that begin to arrive, then you KNOW you are getting close!

Allyson :)

I'm anxious to check out the online ADR thing when it gets rolling... I wonder if you pick a date and sort by restaurant or time desired??? It will be like a video game for DISsers!!!!

I got that same email from Disney just weeks prior to the June trip -- I about fell off my chair since I knew about the 180 days.

I got the same email right before our recent trip. Just silly!

How did I not know that Disney is doing ADR's online now? Where the heck have I been?

Do you have Brown Derby on your list? For October or December? Because let me tell you, YUMMY. The rest will have to wait for my TR but book it. ;)

I know how you feel! There is actually a lot of decent tv these days! Cars I never saw, I tried once but couldn't get into it. Ratatouille was AWESOME- one of my favs for sure!

Like all places, there are good and bad reviews of both, but we enjoy Coral Reef as well as Citriocs. Yatchman is on out list, but we haven't been yet. Although we have enjoyed a drink in the bar next door. :thumbsup2

You are a tease, LL!! ;) I do not have BD on my list for either Oct and Dec but not sure why as I ate there on my last trip in '06 and loved it. I will have to rectify this!

Off to update Netflix now!

Thanks! Always looking for a good bar recommendation!! :thumbsup2

I'm... well.... not 23 and usually love that kind of high schooly type movie so I can't wait to check it out!

There is nothing like Disney mail to brighten your day. They're expecting me! It's really happening!!!

I hope the online ADR tool will be as cool as it sounds. Not sure when it will be up and running? I fully expect to be a "power-user" of this new tool! ;)

I don't know what they're thinking!? Good thing we know better!!

I think one of the reasons I love WDW so much is that it brings back memories of past trips and happy times. Little did my parents know they were creating a monster!! Although perhaps it should have been a sign when I read the Birnbaum guide obsessively starting at age 12! ;) I'm not exactly sure when this photo was taken-- obviously in Epcot so at least within the lat 25 years-- I think it was probably circa late '80's?? Clearly I was going through a growth spurt and was mostly legs... if only that's they way it stayed! Oh to be that thin again!!!!!

What is that in the bottom right hand corner of the photo?????

I have a similar picture when I was 12 in Mexico in Epcot, and I was all legs! :rotfl:

I just found your TR tonight and sat and read the whole thing. I have to admit that I'm envious of your solo trip! I often wish I could sneak away and go it alone at Disney! You sound like you have everything all figured out! Can't wait to hear what you think of the F&W Festival! :goodvibes
