Hello Everyone! This is my first pre-trip report. I hope you enjoy!

I'll start off by giving you a little bit of background on us.

Me (21) : I'm Katie, and I'm a Navy wife. This will be my 5th trip to the "World". I'm also a little obessed with planning, planning, planning. I am a stay at home mom right at the moment because we just moved a 1000 miles from where I lived. So I pretty much have plenty of time to plan, plan, plan.

DH (26): The sailor's name is Marty. :sail: This will be his first trip ever to the "World", and I'm so excited that I'm the one who gets to go with him. He pretty much has just let me take the reigns on the planning part. However, what neither of us can take the reigns on is WHEN he can get off. He also doesn't understand the magic that WDW has to offer. He soon will!

DS(15 months): We'll call him Little D. Little D will not be going along with us to WDW. He is however a handful and a half and has to be napping in order for me to even begin to write this pre trip.

Okay, more background information. We only have a tentative date on when we can go. Since basically the Navy tells us when DH can have off and when he can't we get what we can take. DH can put in for the days he'd like to have off, but there are no "for sures" with the military life. So for now, we are aiming for May 7- May 14th. This will also be our Honeymoon. Thanks to the Navy our orginial wedding date was set for December 16 and yes invitations were sent out. The same day they left I got the call that DH would be gone for training that day.:furious: So we had to move the wedding up to Thanksgiving weekend and wouldn't be able to go on a honeymoon so that we could move. Hence the reason Little D will not be experiencing WDW with us. Maybe next year. Needless to say something can always happen and there goes out Disney trip.:scared:

Next up is the schedule we hope for and where we'll be staying!popcorn:: Also, hopefully some pictures too!

I'm rooting for ya! I can't wait to see your schedule. We will be there May 19-24! This is our first trip too!

 My dh is in the Navy too! He's been in for 11 years. We're going to WDW May 9-13 :goodvibes

I sure hope everything works out for you and your trip/honeymoon!

Wow!!! 11 years! We just entered into our 2nd year with the Navy. We love the benefits, but with him being on a brand spaking new ship he's hardly here with all the training. Please tell me it gets easier?! Thanks for the good vibes! As you well know, a military wife can always use that! :woohoo:

Welcome Katie! I know you'll love your Disney honeymoon. My dh and I spent our honeymoon there in 1975 (yep! we're coming up on number 32!). Way back then it was only the Magic Kingdom. My, how things have changed. Looking forward to hearing more :goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome! 32 years... That is so incredibly awesome! I love hearing about love stories that have lasted over the years  It just makes me smile:) knowing that true love does and can last.

As promised here are pictures of the 3 of us! The "hopeful" schedule will be up either later tonight or tomorrow.:yay:

Little D taking after his daddy. He wore this sailor's uniform in our wedding that matched DH perfectly!

Sorry that they are rather big. I'm not too computer literate when it comes to resizing photos.:confused3

Dh joined the navy as soon as he graduated from high school. He was already 3 years in when we met. Does being a navy wife get any easier? Hmmm...it doesn't get easier, but you grow accustom to it ;) I was somehwhat prepared for this life since I was a navy brat (my dad was in for 20 years).

You have a beautiful family, and your ds is gorgeous! Hope you're able to schedule your vacation soon! I am almost finished (need to make a few more adjustments, ADRs, etc). May 9th cannot come soon enough!!! Where are you planning on staying?

Helen~ I was the type that NEVER wanted anything to do with the military, especially marrying someone in it. My best friend's dad was in the marine's and is now in the National Guard. I hated having her move to another state for a few years and then move back and then move farther and farther away. To this day we are still best friends, but I know it was hard on both her and her mom. She tried to prepare me and I knew what I was getting to because we went through basic training and with him being on a new ship and even a new class of ship he was already gone more than he was here. But that was when we lived 1000 miles a part. Now, I'm where he is suppose to be, but yet he's gone even more. But you are right, you grow accustomed to it. I've only been here for a few months and really haven't thad the chance nor the resources such as work or school to make friends. I know they will come. It just makes it harder when he isn't here. Okay, enough about that jibberish.

I know what you mean! Disney can't be here soon enough. It really isn't far though. Just a little over 2 months!!! We plan to stay at Shades of Green for the most part, but are toying with the idea of maybe staying a night or two somewhere nicer like either the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary. What about you? Where will ya'll be staying? What are your ADRs?

Thank you for saying I gorgeous son. He's such a boy, but precious even when he's going through that mean stage.

Here we go with the schedule. I emailed last night to DH who really could care less right at the moment since he is "training" on some tropical island. He's response this morning to me was "looks great. Can't wait. I'm going to catch some rays before my duty section is called up." He actually said "catch some rays". Maybe it's just me, but aren't you suppose to be excited:banana:  about going to Disney World? I guess he just doesn't understand the true magic Disney has to offer. Any suggestions on how to make him realize it before we get there so that he can pumped like me?:yay: But then again he is on a tropical island.

Okay, so on with the show!

We are planning on staying at Shades of Green. We are also toying with the idea of staying at the Contemporary for a night or two.

The date is still not set in stone. Well nothing is with the military. So this is what I have so far.

May 2- Fly Little D out to my parents house and stay for Friend's wedding
May 5- Friends Wedding and returning back home later that night
May 7- Fly out of ORF with a non-stop flight on Southwest to MCO (we are trying for the morning flight, but we are flying the equalivant of stand by thanks to my wonderful BIL and SIL! My BIL is a pilot for Southwest and gave us 2 roundtrip tickets to anywhere we wanted to go that Southwest flies. Anyways...the morning flight leaves at 9:30 and arrives around 11:20 or so in Orlando!) The plan that night is to NOT have a plan.:rotfl2: I laugh because doesn't DH know me well enough to know that we WILL have a plan? So MY plan is to go to DTD and roam for the night.

Hate to leave you hanging, but my quiet time has ended and Little D is saying "I'm awake! I'm awake! Come pick me up!" :woohoo:

The rest of our "hopeful" schedule will continue soon!

Thanks for sharing the photos. What a lovely couple you are and your little guy is so cute!!!

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans. Sounds like you're off to a great start.

Ah...Shades of Green! We were going to stay there, but we'll save a couple of bucks staying at Pop Century. Besides, the kids love the atmosphere/huge icons there :hippie: Our ADRs include H&V (for Fantasmic), dinner at 'Ohana, b-fast at Chef Mickey's, lunch at Le Cellier and dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I would love to add dinner at Sci-fi, but we'll see (we're not on the dining plan, so all these meals are really adding up :rolleyes1 !).

Dh doesn't LOVE WDW like I do (insane, I know!), but he goes along for the ride. He just loves to see the kids have a good time. I'm sure you and your dh will have a blast. Has Little D ever been to WDW?

Here's to hoping the mean ol' navy doesn't mess up your vacation plans :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Well, everyone, our trip has been cancelled. The Navy rejected DH's leave. The reason being is that Christmas vacation (dec. 16-27) was just completed and DH didn't need any other days to take off.:confused3 I kinda knew this would happen. It happened with the wedding. Well, it will be a sad, long 3 years before we're able to take another vacation due to my school schedule and due to his deployment/training schedule. Maybe one day I'll get that belated honeymoon.

Thank you to those who have encouraged me to keep this up and for reading! One day I will be back to write a whole TR!:yay:

First of all congratulations on your recent wedding! Second...what an absolutely beautiful family you are. Your DS is adorable...love those eyes:love: !

I know you are so disappointed in the fact that your trip is cancelled...I am sorry. I am sending some prayers and pixie dust your way that you will get a huge surprise and things will change.pixiedust:

Don't give up hope...

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I've tried not to be down about, but it's just plain sad. You never know though with the Navy how quickly things can change. But God also has a plan for me whether Disney is included or not...I'll have to wait to see.

Also, thank you for the comment about my family especially my DS! When I was pregnant with him I had a very vain prayer...that he would be blonde headed and blue-eyed...and I got just that!

Thank you again! You've made me smile with the encouragement!:)

That's really sad, I'm sorry for you :sad2:

You do have a beautiful son though :goodvibes

I am sorry to hear of your cancellation. I feel badly for you. Good luck to you and your family

Oh, I'm so sorry your trip has been cancelled. What a bummer for you.:sad2: Just keep believing in the magic and hopefully your dreams will come true sooner than later. My best to you and your family. Sending some pixie dust your way!pixiedust:
