A Salute to All Orlando Area Theme Parks… But Mostly Walt Disney World ***THE END***

On my trip with my parents in 2007, I got my mom on Journey to Atlantis. When she saw the drop ahead of us she clutched my arm and just shouted my name at me along with some "What did you do???" :rotfl2: It's one of my fondest memories. Although she admitted that once she realized she made it to the bottom alive, she had fun. :thumbsup2
Turtle Trek sounds really interesting, the theatre sounds really cool.
The Wild Arctic helicopter ride makes me sick! :crazy2: Such a terrible simulator.
Awww the dolphins are so adorable! I love how curious and personable they are. I could watch them all day too.
I'm not a wrestling fan, but it does look like quite a show for anyone who is! And how cool that you got on TV! (And how utterly shocking that an event run by Universal was poorly planned out... )

I tried to ask the turtles directly, but unlike Turtle Talk at Epcot… there was no response dude.

:lmao::rotfl2: I would have demanded my money back!!

Big Brother fans might recognize this guy… yup, that would be Jesse.

Where's the barfing smilie? I can't stand that guy!!!

I used to watch wrestling in middle school back when it was WWF, so I recognize a few faces in those photos. I guess TNA is where they go when they get a little too old for WWE? :rotfl: Pretty cool that you were able to get in, and that you got on TV!

All caught up...fantastic updates! You wouldn't catch me at US during those Halloween nights, no way I'd have nightmares for weeks!:lmao:

Over time others showed up who had tickets, but apparently they decided they were special and just sort of hovered around the sides of the line, essentially trying to put themselves in front.

That sounds like the lines at Disney's Leap Day last year!

There were actually a couple Disney CM's right in front of us so I told them to take over.

:rotfl2:

Ah well, at least we were on TV.

Ha ha! You and Kate left right when those guys were getting friendly! :rolleyes1

I think wrestling is the male "reality TV" equivalent of "Real Housewives". :p

The dolphins and manatees were adorable. Makes you want a bigger bathtub to keep one as a pet huh?

Your Sea World and US parts of your trip make me realize what a Disney sheltered life I've led. :upsidedow

haha fun update. I've heard some bad stories about the TNA crowd. Good thing about it is that it is free - the bad thing about it is that it is free so some people just go and think it is more about them than the show and act all smarkish.

Some people complain about crowds and stuff at Disney but sometimes all you need to do is go somewhere else to realize how good it actually is at Disney

Thank you, it was a big one. One day in one shot.
That's true, you do get a lot of Smarks in the crowd. This was my third time going (and last now that the show's on the road), but it is a lot of fun. This is the first time I had any issues with the lines. Part of the issue was because they were setting up for Horror Nights in the park, the line had to be moved. It was terribly disorganized.

Absolutely. Disney may not be perfect, but they handle things like this so much better.

Ahaha. That's too funny. Isn't that always the way once the drop is over?

OMG it's fabulous Wendy. I gotta say they really hit this one out of the park. It's pretty awe inspiring.

Isn't it awful. I'm not a huge fan of simulators in general since I don't seem to get much effect out of it usually. But this one is just rough and unpleasant.

Oh me too. I really could stay there all day. Since it's a nursery, there's usually some babies too. They are truly amazing animals.

It was fun. It is cool to see it all put together and how different it all looks live as opposed to on TV.

I know right!? Universal really dropped the ball which is so unusual for them.

Now you'll have to excuse me as it appears my pants are on fire.

Great update! :)

Thanks so much!:goodvibes

Haha, I thought about it. Like, what, the turtles don't talk!!?? What kind of backwards theme park is this? :rotfl:

Ahhh no kidding. I knew you'd recognize him. Oy, I was not impressed. BUT, he does make one heck of a villain. He didn't have to do anything and I hated him. :thumbsup2

Haha, that seems to be the consensus. They do have some talented guys (and gals) though. It was a lot of fun.

Thank you Jacquie and WELCOME BACK!

Yeah, it is pretty intense at times, but I have to say we LOVED IT!

You're right Brenda, I hadn't thought about that.

Haha, this is where I take a bow.

Bahaha, yeah, we didn't want to see that thus why we were facng the other way.

Totally!!

OMG I would LOVE THAT. Both are such friendly animals.

Haha, there's still no comparison to the one true Disney!

A PRELUDE TO A SOLO TRIP!
Day 12 – October 19, 2012 Part 1

We had sadly arrived at our final full day as the next day we would be leaving.

We had no real plans for the day, so we were just winging it.

We ultimately decided to head to the Studios for a bit.

01.jpg

We were able to acquire some Fastpasses for both Tower and for RNRC, and the times were fairly close together.

In the meantime, we rode Star Tours

02.jpg

The Great Movie Ride (gangster… meh)

03.jpg

Took a picture of a hitch-hiker

04.jpg

And saw the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which I had never seen before.

It was cute, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so short.

After that, we wandered around until our Fastpasses could be used.

I got a serious kick out of this army man hiding in the foliage.

10.jpg

You can just barely see him. So clever.

Finally we were able to ride RNRC with our fastpasses.

11.jpg

We then moved over to Tower to finish our Studios day.

We left the Studios after riding Tower because if you’re going to leave the Studios, riding Tower is the best way to end your visit... At least in the daytime.

K8 wanted to go to Walmart to pick up something for her sister that apparently was not available back home, so off to Walmart we went.

20.jpg

After she got what she was after we stopped back at the condo to figure out the rest of the day.

After a bit of a rest, Katie decided she was just going to stay back and relax.
Plus, she wanted to have a look around the local gift shops as she had a few more gifts to buy for folks back home.

I was totally fine with that as we had been going fairly hard and had accomplished a lot in the 2 weeks.

This day was a free day in that respect.

Of course, there was NO WAY I was staying back on my last night, so I bid my goodbye and headed out for a SOLO evening in Magic Kingdom.

Day 12 – October 19, 2012 Part 1 Cont.

It was my last night, and I wasn’t about to spend it not at Disney.

So into the car and off to Magic Kingdom.

I was smart enough to know that when arriving in the early evening, some of the parking spaces up front had been vacated by early departers.

24.jpg

25.jpg

So it was just a quick walk into the TTC.

Since I was alone with no agenda, I decided to take the ferry over, since I rarely do that.

Walking into Magic Kingdom later in the day with no agenda is one of the best feelings one can have.

There’s no rushing to get somewhere so you can just take your time and really enjoy it.

Day 12 – October 19, 2012 Part 1 Cont.

As I was walking down Main Street, Move It, Shake It was approaching, so I stopped to enjoy.

I love all the costumes in this. It’s all just so… fun.

Is there a better feeling in the world than after just entering Magic Kingdom, you get a thumbs up from the Boss?

The answer you’re looking for is “NO!”

TO BE CONTINUED…

I have been reading along with both of your trip reports and they are great! I'm so jealous of how much time you've gotten to spend at Disney. My trips are normally quick 4 day-ers. I would LOVE to be able to stay for two weeks and spend some time at the Dark Side and Sea World. I need to find a job with more vacation time :rotfl2:

The Green Army Man is one of my favorite characters to meet. I don't know how it started but I have to get a picture with him on every single trip. So I LOVE that picture of him hiding in the foliage. Too hilarious.

Awesome picture of Mickey giving you the thumbs up! Definitely a good start to the evening. I love Move It Shake It as well. The music is great and it's just such a random assortment of characters when you think about it. You gotta love it.

Great Pics...

I know what you mean about going into MK- without an agenda-I need to do that one day..... :) This upcoming trip, we will go to MK 3 times... Once for half a day, the next for the parade and wishes and then the Halloween Party!

I need to check out your other TR!

Winging it is always a good plan on the last day, although I tend to go everywhere..lol. Nice fp scores! Gangster, boourns, one of these days I’ll get the cowboy and all life will be grand!

VOTLM is seriously just not long enough, and they cut out SO MUCH, but I guess they did what they could with the movies they had at that time. They should put a PaTF musical in somewhere…

Nice army man pics

Aw man, never thought of being able to take early leavers parking spots! Smart! Oh my gosh! The pic of the contemporary is GREAT! I love the views from the ferry boat, it will definitely be on the list of things to do for Sept, especially with a first timer!

Baha! Mad Hatters face! What a great way to start off a solo evening in the Magic Kingdom!

Just got all caught up! Looks like you really enjoyed Universal's Halloween party. I don't think I would every do one. I don't enjoy being scared! ;) I'm a big wimp. Your pictures were startling enough without actually going!

I would like to do a Sea World day one year. I think my son would especially enjoy that park.

No better park to visit than the Magic Kingdom to finish off a Disney trip! That way you get some last moments with the castle and main street!

Sounds like you had a really nice bonus day at Sea World!

More rides, dolphins, polar critters and TURTLES!!!

Sea turtles are our favorite marine animals, but this exhibit wasn't open yet when we were last there. I snorkeled with sea turtles last February in Mexico and it was awesome!

That was kind of 3-D

Interesting about the wrestling at Universal. Where does that take place?

How did you get the pictures of you on tv? Did someone record the show for you or was it replayed?

A last visit to MK- so bittersweet!

Great pictures from the ferry and of the parade!
