A few months ago many of you were nice enough to help us with a question, the big one, the one that will undoubtedly shock many of you..."Why are we paying dues and a loan every month when we never take advantage of DVC? Shouldn't we just sell it?"...I know, I know, the pain...

Seriously, though, we (DW & myself) have decided that DVC is an ongoing bill that we are not currently getting our value out of, having only been once in the last three years. When we originally bought in, we went crazy, going on cruises, staying on site more times than I can count. But with vacations come souveniers, and now we have three (souveniers, DOH, I mean children), and while I argue the points to keep DVC, my wife (that's right, HUBBY wants to keep the DVC!!) argues how she wants to do more than just WDW vacations with our family. We have family everywhere, we've been considering getting a pop-up (we both love camping), and, as she puts it, there's more to vacation than WDW"!! (maybe I can have her committed).

Back on track, yes, we are selling, and I am looking for some advice. We are listed with The Timeshare Store, but am wondering where else I may try to list our points. I don't believe I can put specifics on these boards, otherwise I would. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading. This was a hard decision for me, but the right one for our family. I must confess, I hate it when my spouse is right!! Thanks, DVC, for the memories, and never fear, WDW, we will be back, just maybe once every 4-5 years.

How many points did each child cost? Does it take less points if you conceive on the weekdays? off season? Can you trade them out? Do they provide daily room cleaning, or only towel and trash service?

Also, I thought there was only an 11 month or 7 month window for ressies...no one said anything about 9 months! :teeth:

eveyone needs to make a decision for themselves. What is best for your family.... As you said you want to travel elsewhere, or is it DW that wants to travel elsewhere... You can do all the exchanges OR better yet RENT your points out and pay cash for the other vacations you want to take that way when your children are older you can still return to DVC since you will still OWN it.

Either way, good luck to you and your family. I can only imagine the torture it must be!

Take care

LOL, they definitely don't do trash or towel service. I was curious if anyone had any other ideas as to where else to try selling...I've heard rumors DVC will by them back, but no one at member services can give me a straight answer.

Thanks again!

them to you.

I also believe I saw some DVC sales on an Orlando newspaper website, I can't remember which one. They are being sold by owner. You can also try selling it on ebay. Not sure if you want to go that route, I did check Ebay before I bought SSR directly from Disney.

Good Luck

I'm sorry that you fill you have to sale. We toured on 97 and finally bought in 98. The problem was that we toured BWV, but could only buy into OKW because of where DVC could do business at the time. We have never stayed at OKW and always stay either BWV or BCV.

I have just added onto with SSR, but really want to add on with BWV. Have gone all these yrs with only 150 pts, but now I want more. because I like to travel more often. You too, may find that you change over the years.

How many points to you have?? Why not rent for now? I still dream of owning BWV just because I think of that as home!! :flower:

I believe The Timeshare Store is the best place for you to sell your DVC contract(s). BWV points are very popular and should sell very quickly. If I was selling I would do nothing more than what you've done already. Let TTS do their work and prepare to entertain offers. Good luck.

Funny, we are in the opposite position as you.

We first bought the pop up and now are considering the DVC.

We absolutely love our Pop Up Trailer and the good news if you do buy a pop up, you can stay at Ft. Wilderness which I hear is wonderful.

If you are looking for any info on Pop Up trailers, you need to go to www.popupexplorer.com. The absolute best source of info for pop up trailer camping.

Good Luck with selling your points.

I would reccoment posting them on e bay there seems to be quite a good market for contracts up htere.

Sorry to hear that you have to give up your DVC. :(

Any of the big 3 resale brokers should work fine. TTS, Jaki, or ********. We sold one of our contracts through ********, and she found us a buyer within 24 hours of when we listed it with her.

You can also try listing on TUG if you're willing to handle the ROFR and closing paperwork yourself. After ROFR is approved, just find a closing company like Holland & Knight to help you do the final closing.

Good luck!
