Ok, we are on our way down to Disney world... driving. We are 2 hours away. My husband lost or misplaced his drivers license. I am NOT worried about checking in to our hotel. Our reservation is under my name and I have my i.d...

About 3-4 yrs ago, in order to get into the actual park, we had to show our i.d. along with our key to the world card on our FIRST visit to the park during our trip...

We have Disney bands this time- they are pre-loaded with our info.

Are we going to have a problem getting into the parks with out his actual photo id? Or do they not need that anymore???

I am down here now and was not asked for an id when i used my magic band for the first time.

We were never asked for our ID once while we were there in December. All they want is your fingerprint. :goodvibes

Only during two activities I've been asked for official ID at WDW in recent years. First, buying alcohol (completely expected), and second, purchasing APs in person (also unsurprising). We haven't rented boats there in a few years so I don't know if they check your ID for that or not.

But we have never needed them for park entry itself.

And uh... check his wallet yourself. If your husband is like my husband, it could be there right in front of him and he wouldn't see it... ;)

Will he want to order alcohol?

(I know that is not a question you asked, but something to think about with no ID)

Only time I have had to show ID at the park is when I was picking up Florida Resident special tickets.

Anytime I have gone all adults have had to show ID at check in. Not just the lead of the reservation.

I found your experience interesting....we have made 20+ trips over the years and never experienced this. Only the lead on the reservation (always me) was ever asked for an ID.

I wonder if there is an official policy on this or if it varies depending on the CM and/or resort.

I have been asked to show ID once in hundreds of entries but it wasn't on first park visit. It was when finger read would not work andI had hopped from another park I went into a few hours earlier. However, I highly doubt it will happen to you.

I've never had that happen. Quite often, my husband is off using the bathroom while I've been checking in. Just showed my ID (the name on the reservation) and have gotten everything. And I know when we checked in with four different parties, we just had the lead person in line and all was fine. There was absolutely no way my wheelchair bound father was there (he was still in the van) and I know my brother-in-law (over age 50) was out walking around the grounds as he dislikes any kind of crowded conditions.

Like the others have said, the only time I've had to present my ID was at check in (only lead person on the res) and when I purchased alcohol, but even then I can count on a couple fingers how many times I've been carded for drinks. I've never in 10+ times been asked to show my ID at the parks for admission.

Even if he does, she can order it for him :thumbsup2

I haven't been asked for my ID since we renewed our passes, or check into a resort. He should be good; have a magical time!

We just left wdw...checked in last Saturday, out this am. Did online checking as we usually do.

Nobody ever asked us to see Id at check in. I don't think we've been asked in the last 4 or 5 years, actually.

It may or may not, but you can go up to a counter and order more than one alcoholic drink.

2 drinks per Id, at a time, at pretty much every lounge and pool bar. Maybe not in a restaurant....I've never tried to order for someone else there. But there are plenty of nights my wife or I have made the pool bar run for both of us.

We all usually have to show photo id at check in.

Does he have have any photo id with him? a health card, library card, costco card, anything?

I'm pretty sure that's not allowed.

Most places allow 2 drinks per ID unless the person you are buying for looks clearly under age.

Also OP I am always the lead on the reservation as well and have never had any other "adults" in my party asked for ID 4x in the last year. Plus a hotel a month (non Disney = work) for the past 6 months and never asked for ID other than mine.

Good luck finding/replacing his ID and have a great trip.
