Let me introduce myself. I’m a Dis lover, and lurker. My name is Kim. I’ve learned so much from reading everyone’s tips and trip reports. And finally I’m inspired to do one myself. I’m a spoiled wife, and stay at home Momma to my 3 kids DS 7 about to be 8, DD 2, and DD 8 months. My DH and I have been seriously enjoying WDW for a few years now, after our 1st trip in 2007.

How this trip came about:
It all started in January, when a near and dear friend ended up in Florida helping her Dad move, and she told me they were driving over to Disney for a day. I was so happy for them, but bummed because it reminded me that I still don't have my next WDW trip planned. Our next family vacation is our first ever trip to Disneyland Resort, but that's not until September! Then where did that leave our next trip to WDW? 2014?:scared1: Yuck! I don't like the sound of that!

So this got me brain storming. How could I sneak in a trip to WDW? :rolleyes1 My DH would love to go. He is just as Disney obsessed as I, ever since our first trip. But he just can’t take two whole weeks off from work in a year. One week, greatly sets him back at work. Yes, he’s one of those, lap top toting, smart phone running even on vacation, can’t stop working type.

So I think I’ll take my girls, and my mom, and I’ll sell it to my DH and DS as a girls trip, where we do girly things. DS was fine with that. He fell for it hook, line, and sinker. DH, on the other hand, was not so pleased with this idea, he wanted to go. Still inevitably he cannot though.

My Mom has been wanting to go to WDW since our first trip. She’s never been and she has done all our WDW scrap booking.:flower3: She has been to Disneyland in 75’ for her honeymoon.

Now, you must be wondering how two Disney love birds went all the way out to CA to honeymoon at DL, and then did not take their children ever to a Disney park.:sad2: And if you’re not, well, you should be! Because yes that’s right, although I grew up in a great Disney era, and was obsessed all of my childhood. I was deprived of a trip to the Magic Kingdom. I had to experience WDW vicariously through Michelle on Full House, but never got an actually trip. It’s tragic really! I vowed my kids would never be deprived of Disney magic, and my DH agreed. He also never got to go as a child.

Week of April 15th - 20th is when Mom could get out of work, so our trip is booked then. DH can live with that, he’ll be working. DS will be at school, and he’s missed enough school for WDW in the past.

DH is so sad and jealous of our girls’ trip. But what you must understand is that, while I obsess over and plan our vacations through the Dis. He’s busy listening to Inside the Magic every week. And we end up having a conversation about the current happenings at Disney parks at least once a week. Probably, in reality it is more often though. Subsequently he’s partly to blame, for all my brainstorming. :lmao:

On to Cast Pictures:

So I was trying to figure out where to stay and with up to 30% off spring promo, I was looking at all the options. Originally, when I sold it as a "girls’ trip" I was thinking of staying at AoA in a Little Mermaid studio. Then I found out they were booked for the promotion and time we’d be going. So I looked at POP to try and keep costs down. But in the end I couldn’t be pulled away when I saw POR Royal Guest room for only $400 more for the 5 nights we’d be staying!

I promptly sent my Mom an e-mail to see if she cared which room showing her a picture of the POP room, and then a picture of the Royal Guest room. I thought it’d be a no brainer. Can you believe she said the POP room looked fine?:headache: Fine is NOT how I imagine my WDW vacations. I want them to be amazing! Besides that my girls are both under 3 we’ll be taking mid-day naps in our room, and probably be going to bed pretty early. I want those nice cozy queen sized beds, in an overdone, perfect princess room is just icing on the cake. So then I asked if she cared about the extra cost of the POR room, and she didn’t so I booked it. I know Mom will love it when she sees it. :cheer2:

Here's the pictures I sent her...

Which would you have chosen? :goodvibes

Oohhhhh, the Princess room! princess:

I saw those when we were planning where to stay and fell in love. We considered staying in a Moderate. But since it will be such a short trip (3 nights) and we're just two adults and will be in the parks the whole time- since we haven't been to WDW in a while (and never together!)- we ultimately decided to stay at Pop to save money. Then hopefully our next trip will be longer and we'll stay at a Moderate. My boyfriend, Joe flipped when he saw the Pirate rooms at Caribbean Beach! Personally I would love the Princess rooms but neither of those two are available in King size beds. Then there is Coronado Springs.... but that is to be decided for our NEXT trip!

I can't wait to hear more about your plans... and how your stay goes in the Princess room!

Consider me subscribed! ::yes::

Also, your girls are beautiful! Such cutie-pies. How fun to be able to go to WDW with your girls and your Mom. They (and you) will treasure those memories.

Aww, I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it! My mom passed away a couple of years ago and I don't have kids yet so she never got to meet her grandkids.

You will have a wonderful time!

I wanted to send you a hug. :grouphug: Your Mom will always be with you, even if you can't physically touch here. I know it isn't the same and I am sorry.

Thank you! I also want to give you a hug :grouphug: I would love to stay at CSR! I definitely thought about that for this trip. Every trip has a perfect room. Gotta love Disney for having it so figured out!:goodvibes

The Royal Rooms DO look fit for the princesses. Great choice!
Thanks for the reply!:flower3:

following along. Great choice of rooms.
Thank you and welcome!:wave2:

Thank you. That's very sweet of you to say :goodvibes
Love all the support. Sorry I was MIA for the weekend.

Now I was thinking about dining. I asked my Mom if she wanted the dining plan, or to pay as we go. She’s heard my DH and I rave about the food and dining plan now for our past 3 trips. And she said, without even thinking about it, “dining plan.” Well, that settles that then.

I went to the Dis and got our park schedule figured out, then promptly starting booking ADRs. Now I booked according to morning EMH because we’re not going to last at night, and my girls are early risers. I’ve always done this, and I guess the parks are busier those days. But I don’t know any different. I feel like EMH is part of what I pay for staying on property. How do you all feel about, skipping EMH? Do you feel like the other parks are really that empty? I'm highly considering changing all ADRs and our park schedule. I'm so indecisive. :rotfl2:

Of course for booking our ADRs, we are far too behind to get an ADR for BOG, and our options for ‘Ohana were slim pickings. We will hopefully be dining at BOG for lunch, I’m going to shoot for an early lunch that day, and hopefully miss some of the crowd.

So I booked our ADRs a couple of weeks ago. Then last weekend we tried our baby on some eggs, seems like ODD was eating them around 7 months. Well, it didn’t turn out too good. She broke out in hives, was coughing, and sneezing, then vomited twice. We called the doctor, gave her some Benadryl, and she had a sleepy day in Mommy’s arms. My poor baby has a food allergy! :(

I’ll definitely be calling Disney back to add that important piece of info to our ADRs. We already deal with one food allergy my DS is allergic to shellfish, and Disney is a top notch example of how all restaurants need to deal with food allergies. :thumbsup2

Here’s what we ended up with:
Monday- 7:00pm 1900 Parkfare
Tuesday- 7:00pm Akershus (First time, how’s dinner?)
Wednesday- 7:00pm Boma (Also a first time, reviews make it sound, and look so good. Mom thinks I’m a little crazy, but she trusts my Disney judgment.)
Thursday- 8:30pm ‘Ohana (Must do, my favorite! Although I think DH would prefer I skipped it, since it’s also his fav. But I plan to send him some food porn. Aren’t I a great wife?)
Friday- 6:30pm 50’s Primetime
Saturday- OOP airport for dinner departure day:sad:

I've never been to WDW parks at rope drop, let alone EMH. The last time I was there was before I discovered DIS! I am excited to be there bright and early. Obviously, I don't have the experience myself but it seems that as long as you are there first thing in the morning, you're way better off than the ones strolling in mid-morning without a plan. You should be able to get a lot done in the morning, even with EMH. I'm super indecisive too so I completely understand! I go back and forth in my head about my choices for ADRs and park days. You'll probably be fine as it is, and it might be too late to get the ADRs you want on the other days.

My poor baby has a food allergy! :(

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that! Poor thing. She still looks like a cute, happy baby in that picture though!

This is so true, I started to check other ADRs to see what was available if I change our park schedule. It was not too good, it makes me wonder if those parks are really going to be any less busy.
Thanks, she sure is happy. We have some eating challenges to over come, but nothing we can't handle.

I’m still contemplating if I should change our park schedule and ADRs around. I can’t think about it too long. So any other suggestion from more readers would be really helpful. TIA

I had an itch to go shopping last weekend:scared: and I went to my local Burlington Coat Factory to see if they had any Disney luggage. Of course they did. The large suitcase was $90 and the carry on was $70. I almost bought them, and my DH told me I should. Yet, my practical, logical part of my brain, told me not to. So I walked away.

I know I’ll be kicking myself for not buying them when I go to pack for our family of 5, week long trip to DLR. I’m sure there won’t be enough room in our current luggage. :faint:

Anyone have Heys luggage and really like it? We have Samsonite with spinners, and they’re so handy. We have bought a couple of the kids Heys Disney luggage, and of course they’re in love with their suite cases.

On a fun note we received our customized park maps! :cheer2:

Here's a picture of the suit case that was at Burlington.

New shoes for our trip.
Adelyn is a furniture walker, but soon she'll be walking on her own. Here's a picture of what I got for her.

Available at Target. I'm absolutely in love with this outfit for my 2 YO. She's going to look so chic and adorable prancing around Epcot in this! So excited, only 11 more days until we're in the middle of Disney magic!:yay::yay::yay:
