Hi Diser's,

All over the boards I keep talking about my recent engagement at the GF. My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for November 2008. We are taking a 7 day cruise, not DCL, and when we get back to Ft. Lauderdale, we would like to extend our trip with a couple nights in the best place in the world!! Between the two of us, we have stayed at BW, CR, and GF. I am leaning towrds the BWV or the CR.

I am looking for help making this decision and I am open to other resort ideas. I want it to be romantic obviously, which is why CR scares me. More kids then other deluxe resorts. GF would be the choice that offers less youngsters, however, we wanted to change it up this trip. Ideas?

I absolutely recommend the POLY!!! :) The smells, the lush landscaping, the decor all lend itself to romance and sweet memories!!! strolling along the sand and watching the fireworks while the tiki torches light your way back....it's just awesome!!! I liked the Contemporary...but I wouldn't say it was romantic...the kids and me and Dad had a good time of it...but the Poly is just very relaxing, calming and romantic! :)

CONGRATS on your engagement!!!!

What about the Yacht Club? When we stayed at the GF it was packed with kids. Maybe it was time of year. Congrad on your wedding soon to be.:wizard:

Another vote for the Poly!!! We thought it was so Romantic!!!

although, If you got engaged at GF, that's pretty romantic too.

Either way, Congratulations, and have a great time!!!

I'd definitely have to say the Poly was fantastic. We stayed there on our honeymoon and found it to be wonderful! There's nothing like tonga toast delivered to your door :goodvibes . We were even fortunate enough to be upgraded to concierge when we checked in. Congrats on the nuptuals and have a great honeymoon:thumbsup2

Thank you everyone! I guess I will have to look into the Poly!! We have had character breakfast there and walked on the grounds, but never looked into it for a resort stay.

Now, it's time to listen to the podcast!

Chat with you all later!

I think if you're trying for fewer kids - GF or YC. Poly is overrun with kids. Literally crawling with kids. It would be the last place I'd want to stay for a honeymoon. It's very pretty, but it's crazy wild. YC has an atmosphere similar to GF & I know you like GF.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

I say the YC or BW. I think the Epcot resort area is fabulous for adults (we love it but have 2 youngsters so BC is our favorite!). I see you've had a BW stay in the past, so I don't need to sell you on the area. You realize how romantic it is in that area, plus the fine dining, shopping, dancing, ability to walk to Epcot countries for good eating, etc.

Yes, Lives4Disney, I've seen you on the GF board. I think we both have an affinity towards that resort! However, with one trip to Disney each year, if we're lucky, makes me want to change it up. I'm leaning towards BW. Or BWV. After all, Epcot is our favorite park!

Thanks everybody. I'm still keeping an open-mind about this resort decision if anyone wants to put in their 2 cents. We're not booking until next month sometime.

I'll throw in my 2 cents too ;)

We love GF too, but also love EPCOT - there is nothing like being able to stroll over (and back from) International Gateway. It's a beautiful walk right into World Showcase.

Any of the EPCOT resorts would be wonderful, but YC is probably most adult, yet a further walk. BW or BWV are fantastic.

Have you considered the Swan? If you qualify for any of the discounts (military, nurse, teacher/education, gov't) there can be a great discount for a very nice hotel and location. The CM's at the Swan are wonderful and you might possibly get a nice upgrade since it is your honeymoon. They are very generous with upgrades when room is available. :)

Congratulations!

Thank you, BaciBecky! So far on this thread, I have been hearing a lot of good "adult" things about the YC. Though good point about the longer walk. Not that we're that lazy...We don't qualify for any of those discounts at the swan, and I am one of those disers that feel the swan property is not Disney. I just don't get that feeling there:confused3

I say the CR. We honeymooned there for 11 nights in Sept! There were kids but this is disney we expected tons of kids. Just think about this, There is nothing like seeing the MK up close from your balcony. We watched Wishes every night. It was the most magical romantic thing ever!
